I worked as an analyst for two years before making the switch to trading full time about a year ago. I am now trying to make the move into a quantitative position. I've already started learning Python and plan to move onto R and then to advanced math/statistics. Is it enough to be self taught in this field, or will I have to go back to school for a masters or phd in statistics or a computational field? From my own research, most jobs seems to want a graduate degree.

How old are you?

How do I get an internship at a big bank from my Eurocuck country?
I'm already in a math degree. What to minor in?

>mfw I literally went for this degree because of the 300k/year meme
Hi I'm 23 years old and male.
Just wanted to know if you guys are familiar with the Forex Club. (seems like a trading site)
Is this stuff legit?
Any tips for a newbie?

stick with LMAX, interactive brokers or FX futures on the CME
you'll likely lose money trading FX, you're likely better off taking a longer term value investing approach with equities
>>1114086
How much are they charging?

>Canadian NEETs possibly getting $20k/year
>mfw I can literally just pour 20k into stocks a year without any real loss to myself and just wait until I strike it rich
Haha are you fucking jelly?
for once I am not ashamed to be living in cucktario
You will be dead before you're actually rich, so no.

/ biz/ I'm stuck at a standstill. 18 and need to pick a major. My original plan was civil engineering since I love math and physics. But after browsing /biz/ for some time, would finance be a better option?
Which one is better in terms of job availability & salary?
pic unrelated
>>1112245
you'll do it for the rest of your life. Pick what you prefer to do. World will always need civil engineers to build bridges and shit. Safe pick.
But if you wish to life fast and die young, finance might be better.
>>1112253
I love bridges and roads and the whole aspect of civ engineering, but a lot of posts here have said this field is dying , not hirjng and paying shitty
Is it just trolls or is this true?
Get a degree in psychology. You'll have a salary of $200k starting in no time.
Are there any efficient ways to make bitcoin completely online?
I kow you can get paid to complete surveys and such. I've been gambling recently, but statistically you'll almost always come out even when it's determined by chance.
there's some boards on reddit, jobs4bitcoin
>>1115825
>but statistically you'll almost always come out behind
FTFY
Gambling is only profitable for the house you dunce.
>>1115832
Not if its run on a ethereum smart contract.
This allows provably fair gambling with zero house edge.
>pay off $2,400 debt
>credit score drops 47 points because I closed an account
Th-thanks, equifax
>He pays for Equifax
>>1115387
I don't pay for shit, dummy. This is creditkarma.
The whole credit rating system is fucking retarded.
How is it considered better to have like 6 lines of debt lingering over you than to have zero debt at all? The "they manage their expenses well" argument is stupid

I want to get into economics but have no idea where to start.
I simply want an understanding of economics such that I can develop some of my political and philosophical beliefs. I feel that economics is my weakest link when discussing politics. I lean towards the left but we often get flack for having terrible economic policy. Instead of ignoring this, I want to develop my understanding so that I can gain new insight into many different issues.
I have absolutely no knowledge of economics. I have a degree in mathematics so I don't think I will have much trouble...

Google economics basics and go look on investopia. Not gonna lie, lefties are pretty good at social issues but suck ass at econ so thumbs up for trying.
Biz bro. Get mankiw's principles of economics and read. Get it second hand if it's too expensive. U need a uni level textbook to get fundamental understanding. Getting from websites and stuff is craps and opinion. U don't have to choose this book, but at least make it uni level.

Don't do it OP it's a trap!
Can anyone explain to me to benefits of long term Investments?
I always get told "buy and hold, buy and hold and don't trade" but why is that so?
Compound interest.

If you choose companies that perform steadily and pay a dividend, it's like putting money in a bank with decent interest rates.
Also you're not paying trading fees every time the market jerks a point in one direction or the other. Those trading fees go into merchant's pocket you know.
the idea is that the stock market generally grows steadily so you're better off just sitting on your portfolio than trying to trade and getting fucked by fees
but that's not really true anyway because we're likely on the verge of another collapse
Hi Guys,
I know its a bear market now... what stocks should i be trading with now...

would it be feasible to make a strip club largely inspired by rope mallakhamb?
basically, think vid related but with attractive, legal age women taking their clothes off while doing it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kr61tc34r-k
what would the estimated startup cost be?
im aware that this kind of technique has a far steeper learning curve than pole dancing and would likely have to pay for intensive training and and a high wage for the performers, but tell me this wouldn't be the hottest thing ever.
but would you guys expect such a thing to be profitable?
>>1115952
How will you train your dancers to do this? What will you do when one of them breaks their neck during a performance?
Honestly I think you should just to starting up a regular ol strip club with dancing poles like the rest of us. Don't be a hipster.
>>1115952
They have this already. But its with silk ribbon, not rope
>>1115960
but ropes are more arousing.
as far as training them goes, there's likely someone out there who at least knows the basics. if i wanted to severely cut corners, i could have a small group of women learn from a teacher then they train any future dancers.
they train kids to do this shit in India, i could have my dancers stick to safer shit (ie. not backfliping off the fucking rope) and maybe have the rope be fairly low off the ground with a soft sage to land on. they ideally wouldn't be touching the...

I have no knowledge of stocks or investments, I have 500 dollars how do I turn it into 5,000?
>>1115888
I do know how to get trips tho
Well, you can get a a job, like people do, you can invest in brk about a decade ago, or you can but on 00 for the roulette table. Best course of action would probably get VERY lucky with options trading. Buy something OTM, then pray to god.
Do you know what the difference between gambling and investing? In gambling the odds are against you, in investing, the odds are for you. Just a bit of advice.

For the purpose of this post im going to change the names of the item and what it's being used for, but the pricings and measurements are roughly the same.
For the past couple of years I've been using 'Coca-Cola' to 'wash my hair'. I find that it works just as well, in fact even better than shampoo. Most bottles of shampoo go for $10 per 100ml, but the 'Coca-Cola' only costs me $3 for 900ml.
Would it be a profitable business idea to bottle up/ re-label the 'Coca-Cola' and sell it for $9 per 100ml, knowing that people won't know the difference? Could I get im any trouble with 'Coca-Cola' for doing this?
>>1114976
*and sell it as shampoo for $9 per 100ml, knowing that people won't know the difference?
So you intend to take MY product, put YOUR name on it and sell it for more whats its worth on people who wouldn't know the difference?
>Could I get im any trouble with 'Coca-Cola' for doing this?
No of course not. Its a perfectly legal way to do buisness.
>>1114984
Exactly. I want to buy someones product, repackage it under a different use and sell it at 3000% of what I bought it
