Waiter here. I work for a chain that employs me as a server and pays me a servers wage (2.95 or something an hour) but during our shifts, we do togos, answer the phone, bus, expedite, etc.

No dumbass, but if youre tips dont equal at least minimum wage they have to pay the difference - most of these restaurants dont even account for the tips though because its a tax / accounting nightmare for them. You can suck it up and hope for good tip money or turn them in but turning them in just kind of shoots you in the foot.

hi biz i work in at a tier 1 automotive supplier i want to get a job at the automaker and then get a mechanical engineering degree with a concentration in either automotive or manufacturing in design
i have 4 years experience at my current tier 1 supplier, 22 and am looking into automotive consulting

That's by far the easiest path I can see. otherwise you'd need to be looking for like low-tier management positions (eg line supervisor) which is a hard sell at 22 with no other qualifications

Im starting an apprenticeship in coding in a incurance company this year. They told me that the actual act of typing the code becomes less important the further you advance in the job. The actual important part is to understand what exactly the other departments of the company need/want and how the suitable program should look like. I dont see that being replaced by remote workers anytime soon.
Im from Germany though, so I guess the language barrier and the generally traditional work-culture play their part and Im not sure how the situation is in other countries.
