I saw a thread on /pol/ about it. They thought China were moving to a gold standard-which is not the case.

I was thinking I would sign up for the card, collect the 50$ and never use the rewards card, but I don't know if I'm screwing myself over somehow.
It says no annual fee but then there's a lot about interests on purchases. Thing is, I'm used to just pay the money whenever I make a transaction. I'm not used to credit/paying later.

I recommend reading a little bit about credit cards in general, and checking out what types of cards are out there, there's a couple different types like, reward cards (where you gain points for spending and can redeem them for product/travel/etc), or cash back cards ( where you get a percent of spending back as cash). It's great if you wanna get a credit card and it is a great way to start building credit score. The main thing is... Don't spend what ya don't have. I put pretty much everything on my credit card... But I pay it off every month. I don't...
