so /o/, what type of car will Model 3 be?
I guess a middle class car, smaller Tesla Model S
>>14750608
didn't they already say it's gonna be a hatchback?
>>14750625
they only said it would be a budget-car costing around $30k

General LS swap thread.
Also, i have a question for some americans who might know more than me.
I've got a NA supra lying about that i got for free and a couple of LS parts as well.
I've always wanted to build my own engine, so i plan on building the LS anyway, but i was considering dropping it into the supra because...
>The NA engine sucks
>Apart from that the car has a near perfect weight distribution and a 0.95g skidpad rating
>I already have it laying...

IIRC an aluminum LS is lighter than the stock engine, but a cheap LS will be a truck iron block. Not sure how much that weighs.
It should change the weight distribution for the better, as the original engine is a fucking boat anchor and the LS is aluminum.
2JZ was a fat as fuck so you'll probably be fine.
This beauty is 5K
31k miles on it.
I'm looking for a reliable car, since I'm a poor student
Convince me Kias are bad.
1000$ Corolla
More reliable, cheaper, a nicer car overall (my opinion)
>>14749814
I don't mind the exterior of the car but Corolla interiors are all beige and fucking sad. I really want something comfy.
>>14749829
Idk, I like 90s Toyota interiors because they are all very tidy, and relatively well made. Kia Forte's center console seems a bit too plasticky and cheap for me, but hey, that's just my autistic opinion.
"Designed to preview the exterior design of the all-new hatchback model, the five-door hatchback prototype is 30 mm wider, 20 mm lower, and 130 mm longer than the current model."
What do you think of the Civic Hatchback prototype /o/?
Only if they can make it AWD
>>14749472
should be the accord
>>14749485
This. Throw awd on there I'd consider buying it.
Fine, I give in. I'm going to sell my 30k car that I owe 20k on, and buy a beater. Just want to get all my finances in order, and I don't care about impressing anyone anymore (I'm not in college haha). Wanted a 944 really badly, but everyone said hell no. What about a 300zx?
>>14749434
E46 M3, 2008-2010 135i, 996 911, FC3S RX7 would probably all be more interesting than a 944 or 300zx, but are between the $10k-$15k (and more) for decent examples.
X/1000 = y
X= Number of money you want to spend on car
Solve for y amount of corollas you should buy.
>>14749434
If you can find 10k to spend on an E36 M3 you can get something that has been well taken care of.
They are great cars for hammering on and comfy for long trips.
Are you a DIY kind of anon or do you take cars to shops?
>you will never be able to import the Type R until its the year 2040
>>14749361
do you not get them in your country?
>>14749366
They're not coming into the US last I checked.
It's a great feel since I have no interest in a 40k civic with the most disgusting case of factory rice I've ever seen.
Just think of the god machine 40k could get you and just how much it would grind an econobox civic into pie crust.
Hi /o/,
I am considering getting a brush guard for my 2011 Ford Ranger. The main reason I want to get one is because I have been paranoid about damaging vehicles in a deer collision ever since I smoked one with my mom's Challenger when I was in high school. Basically, I'm trying to add a bit more protection to my truck. Also, over christmas I rode with the Sheriff back home and we ended up hitting a deer with a Ram 2500 that had a guard (all it did was mess up the passenger headlight). So, what is the general consensus on brush guards? In the event of a deer...

Brush guards protect against foliage. The best protection against deer is paranoia at night.
>>14749013
I have one like that on my Dodge Dakota I bought from Carid but mine is a Westin. I got that one because it has one additional crossbar on top middle part.
I think it's worth the $300-$500 cost.
Plus they come pre-drilled for mounting off-road lights. Now I have a 2002 Ford Ranger and I'm probly gonna put a Westin on that too.
>>14749026
>Brush guards protect against foliage.
unless you get a real "grill guard" like the ones made by Ranchhand. I plowed through 3 full size deer at 70 mph all at one once with one of those on my truck and didn't get a scratch.
Unfortunately i can't find a Ranchhand grill guard for a smaller truck like a Dakota or a Ranger.
I just bought a type r. How fucked am I?
if its not niggerified then you are not fucked
>>14748807
Hopefully it doesnt get stolen
Hopefully its a real type R
If both of these apply congrats you probably could have bought/built something better with that money but you probably have one of the better fwd cars ever produced.
I guess you did alright if youre into that type of stuff
Me and my ese will be over tonight homie. Hope your insurance covers theft, if not you're pretty fucked.
Would the oil drain mod in pic related actually work? I want to do this to all my cars so it's easier to service.
>>14748364
Yes it will.
Please look for a qtddtot before posting things like this
>>14748364
what in the fuck
use a ball valve instead
Which one?
miata
>>14748291
Miata with an LS3, two snails, and an edelbrock
>""Family"" vehicle
>Requires high octane fuel
>not having a high octane family
Low test confirmed. I bet you don't even go to the Grand Canyon doing 0-200 mph pulls to make your high test babies laugh.
>he wants a low octane family vehicle
>his wife wants high octane extramarital dick
>be American
>think anything over 90AKI is high octane
Wedge cars that look like the fc rx7, mk3 supra?
mk3 supra
>>14748209
Currently saving money to get one of these, i love the way they look
>>14748249
Slow as fuck, at least the rx7 is fun to drive
What do you consider to be the golden age of cars? Style, performance, features, technology and "feel" wise taken at a relative perspective.
I consider the 90s to be the high point. Unnecessary technology wasn't a problem, performance gains were big thanks to tech. On top of that, designers finally learned to make cars look good after a decade of dealing with regulations of the 80s.
If I was rich, if I could collect cars, 90% would be from that era. American, Japanese and Europan.
Nostalging on an old ass PS1 game I played in the 4th grade....

80s-90s
after 2002 everything just got fucked up but now some cars are coming good i think anything made after 2017 will be a future classic as well.
>>14748071
Feels pretty Need for Speed in here.
But anyways, right now is the golden age of vehicles. You can always buy older cars, but you can't make a future car appear in front of you. Like that old 90s jap box? Buy it. Nothing is stopping you except your poorfaggotry.
Mid 80s to 2000.
Everything this millennium is shit.
True?
they were never good m8
>>14747816
They are all shit.
All BMW is shit
What drives people to delude themselves into thinking otherwise will forever be a mystery to me.
Yes. You could make a case for the 1-series (E82), but that's about it.
Does doing pic related hurt the suspension at all?
>>14747521
About as much as your car existing on a 1g planet.
yes
you will blow your strut towers
you have to put one in the right front corner and the other one in the left back corner so it evens out
>>14747529
>>14747531
One of you is wrong
