Shitposting is making bad/low quality/off-topic posts, and acting like an idiot in general. It may or may not be intentional, but it's usually intentional. It can sometimes be difficult to know if you should consider a post as shitposting (or even reported) or not unless it's an extreme example.
Trolling is trying to make a post solely for replies of any kind. It doesn't matter if you believe what you post or not, your intent is to get as many replies as possible, usually by upsetting as many people as possible. But it can really be anything that will attract...

Reports are constantly ignored and I've even been warned for report abuse. I'm not kidding here, they're blatant shitposts that go way beyond off-topic and include retarded writing like xDDD and shit. Still warned.

Am I the only one who makes a short drive down to my local library to use the free Internet access there whenever I need to make a 4chan post which I'm afraid could get me v&? Not that I post material that is actually illegal, but I'm always afraid a joking death threat or other silly post may be taken seriously by accident.

I did that once but my local library branch is very small and underfunded and it was too overcrowded there to be comfortable browsing the internet in there. I was browsing 4chan in full view of like 12 random strangers reading magazines.
That's some dedication to shitposting, I'm actually impressed.
I do it all the time to samefag in my own threads. Between my home computer, dataplan on my cellphone, and the three different libraries I have memberships at, I have a total of 6 unique IPs at my disposal for each thread.
Often, I will plan my day around which order I am going to visit the libraries and make my posts in order to keep my threads alive while maintaining plausible deniability if accused of samefagging.
I know this board hates /v/ so feel free to skip this thread if you must.
Why are filename threads being deleted all day? They aren't 'muh /v/ culture', they are actually decent threads. At least they contain more video games that e-celeb threads.
They are a part of the culture. Any recurring thread is.
If it were up to me, anything resembling culture would be removed, from all boards.
Culture is only a problem when it actually obstructs discussion. Otherwise it's at-worst cringeworthy shit you can hide.

Seriously, you can tell that they are there for the circlejerk, not for anything else. They are all tripfags and worst of all, they get fucking butthurt and derail other threads that have nothing to do with fucking desktops (making filtering them even harder).
I know that anime is allowed in other boards n stuff but holy shit, they are the biggest concentration of cancer, and worst of all, there is a fucking wallpaper and desktop board, so there is no reason for not fucking banning...
