This board reflects a very small minority of 4chan. Anyone who replies to this thread probably originally came to this board to complain about a ban or request more filters and censorship. If /qa/ was more temporary and a link was posted in the news header, more people would come in and give a more accurate representation of this site. If mods seriously took anything in this board with consideration, they'd be doing it based on what a tiny percentage of this site feels.

Simply put, hiding the post from everybody except the poster.

Deleting a shitpost. Usually comes with a warning.

Informing the user they've fucked up and politely asking them to stop. Way more effective than you might assume. Far less effective than you want.
>Slow Punishment
AKA: Slow ban
IPs on the slow list are served slooooooowly. Pages take 40 seconds or so to load every time. Often makes users quit of their own volition.

Preventing a user from posting at all. Some forms of bans also prevent users from reading.

Similar to slow punishment and stealth banning, but throws error codes at the user to make them think the site's broken and that's why they can't post.

Popular on Craigslist, Hacker News, Reddit, Stealth Bans are where all of your comments are ghosted, so you're the only one who can see your post and you don't know you're banned unless you go check using a proxy. Makes the troll feel unloved as nobody is replying to their hilarious epic bait.

The site is beyond the point of repair. The newfag mods don't do their job any more, they ban elements that have always been a part of chan culture and only that. They only care to clean /pol/+/int/ shitposting (which is a start, keep board culture in said board) but are perfectly OK with keeping a porn, erp or BLACKED thread up for sometimes more than half an hour.
If you check the catalog of any board other than a dead one such as >>>/i/ at this point, a good percent of 80% of threads is just shitposting and baiting which well fits an outsider's idea of chan culture or what makes for good trolling/shitposting.
Threads that actually have promise to offer OC are derailed almost instantly.
Over the course of 2 years this site has become way more less laid back and doesn't care for OC all together, they're perfectly ok with seeing the same posts and unfunny phrases used again and again.
There is a time not long ago this site's internet popularity was ranked 53rd and has dropped down all the way to 850s (It's not the newfags leaving), the site is dying because the mods here fucking suck and want the site to die as long as it's granted for the mods this site will become their own personal meme factory while It's here for a while. And Hiro has been long in hiding, there was a while where he was handing out free bitchslaps for any mod that decided to be a fucking idiot, but It's come to a point where not even he can save this site.
tl;dr Site is beyond saving, posting anime or discouraging in won't do anything at this point you fucking mouthbreathers

There are people here on /qa/ that hate /pol/ who want to turn 4chan into a liberal hugbox like Something Awful.
Please understand that /qa/ doesn't represent the majority of 4chan and that each board has a separate culture with separate users, using /qa/ to gauge what X board likes or dislikes is wrong.
All these votes were taken from /pol/ in different threads, so you know it represents the /pol/ community.
If you doubt the validity of the poll just post a thread on /pol/ and ask the community about the filters, you will see straight away that the vast majority of /pol/ users hate the filters.
It's mainly the "cuck" filter /pol/ has a problem with because it's commonly used in politics. For example:

Make it so only the OP can reply to his thread, I call it "shadow locking" a thread.
When non-OP posters try to reply to a "shadow locked" thread they will simply get a "connection error" message.
"Shadow locked" threads will die and the OP will assume that nobody liked his thread and he won't post such a thread ever again.

In return for this brilliant idea I request that you remove the word filters.
The mods shouldn't be able to speak for the community on giving OP's the impression of what the community does or doesn't like.
