Recently /g/ has decided to not allow desktop threads anymore which means all the people that did post there all moved to /w/ and it's a shitshow.

There's other factors that go into a board other then the amount of posters. Some topics would be stretched thin by having an entire board, so even if they do hit the post quota, discussion would be pretty slow and spaced out. Then there's the fact that some boards would just turn to shit.
