For the last year an individual (or possibly a co-ordinated group) has taken it upon themselves to derail and disrupt these threads as much as possible on a DAILY basis. They will spam the thread incessantly using one of their preferred methods, switching tactics as soon as janitors or mods notice and delete his posts. Of course bans do nothing to slow them down, as they will switch IP and immediately continue derailing the thread. They have been caught posting the exact same posts verbatim at times, making this all the more obvious.
His various methods of derailing the threads involve
- making 'complaint' threads on /qa/ that the Anime Discussion Thread is spamming threads (most likely he is the one making said threads)
- spamming random fan-art with no relation to current discussion. Often pornographic fan-art as well.
- spamming links to random Youtube videos, Deviant-art accounts, or other boards on 4chan itself such as /a/, /b/, /v/, /co/ and /r9k/
- 'Geekchic' (a 'fanshipping term' used in the Pokemon community). He will vehemently spam the thread with his arguments about this, insult anyone who disagrees with him (often stating they are delusional), and derailing other ongoing discussions to get people to reply to him. Mods have a tendency to not realise this is spam, I have been banned on more than one occasion in the past for reporting this type of spam for Rule 7, even when said posts were later deleted anyway.
- images of gore (usually reusing the same ones)
- images of feces or scat porn (usually reusing the same ones)
Banning him achieves nothing at this point, only range bans would hope to curb his behaviour. However that is an unreasonable suggestion and would most likely hurt many innocent users. Judging by the times he is active (between 8am-11pm GMT) I suspect he is from a country in mainland Europe, posting nearly non-stop during this period.
This user(s) is a severe nuisance on the level of the infamous 'Goodra-poster' who spammed /vp/ for over a year in 2014-2015 to the extent that filters were put in place to stop him. Please can it be made aware to all moderators of his methods and tactics, as users are fearful to even report his behaviour because of moderators misunderstanding the situation and issuing reporters with a ban for breach of Rule 7

In any case, a community this small and underage can only produce so much OC in a month. If you want a firehose of interesting stuff, reddit really is the only place to visit. I just come here to shitpost for 15 minutes a day and even that's boring on certain weekdays.

First off, I will admit I have abused the report system. Mostly by reporting rule-breaking content like

Reasons why having a board dedicated to Japanese games only would be a thing:
- Fans of Japanese games tend to be older and more mature on average due to them growing up in the golden age of videogames when Japan wuz king.
- Western videogame fans are mostly 16-18 year old little shits who grew up with Call of Dewritos and Gears of Dudebros.
- Said type of people are probably the majority of /v/ at this point due to the board being only second to /b/ in terms of attracting underage cancer.
- Both of the fanbases hate each other, leading to many conflicts.
- AAA Western games are the main source of shitposting on /v/, almost all threads about them are shitflinging.
- The "/v/ or 4chan is for shitposting" mentality comes mainly from Western game fans. (cough, redditors, cough) as a result.
- Most of the on-topic discussion with little to no shitposting on /v/ is usually about Japanese games.
- Controversies related to politics/SJWs happen way more often in the Western gaming scene, almost every single modern Western game has something that can be related to SJWs in them, therefore leading people to inevitably talk about those topics which are only borderline related to videogames.
- Other things such as e-celebs and twitch faggotry are also part of the culture surrounding Western games.
- /v/'s growth in popularity has attracted the attention of Western viral marketers, both AAA and indie developers.
- /v/'s traffic is too big to be moderated effectively.
- And finally, Japanese stuff is the reason 4chan exists, so having another board dedicated to a Japan-related topic would be beneficial to the culture of the site.
