/pol/ is too fast at this moment. Thread without enough replies dies within few minutes. And what is worse, 80% of threads is about American politics (mostly Trump and gun laws), and there is no chance this will change in the next months. Because of that there is often no chance to discuss anything else, like European and Asian politics (except mocking western countries for being cucked). So what I suggest is to split /pol/ into /usp/ - USA politics and /pol/ - World politics (except USA). This would improve both sides. Americans could have entire board for discussing Trump in slightly slower pace and the others who want to discuss non-USA politics would have chance to do it, without using buzzwords in OP like "/POL/ IS OVER", "PROVE ME WRONG / YOU CAN'T". So please Hiroshima, take a look at this and split /pol/.

Remove the word filters for s.m.h. (shaking my head), t.b.h. (to be honest) and f.a.m. (family)

In the current state of things, you may as well extend the filter to include "Justice", "Freedom" and "Liberty"

The only films that ADHD babbies who watch tv shows and play video games are able to enjoy is capeshit. This explains all the childish shitposting on /tv/.

That along with all the annoying celebrity shit cannot be mixed with cinema.

We need /cine/

Now that "reddit bogeyman shitposting" is bannable, when will /pol bogeyman shitposting become bannable as well?

People who shitpost "back to /pol/" "/pol/ detected" etc are even worse and literally derail threads with their shitspam like this >>>/mu/62063401

Anyone who ever says "hurrr /pol/" should be perma'd. It's far more retarded and disruptive than "hurr reddit".

How about the mods stop banning people for board banter and stop being faggots?
This is like some euro country banning flags because nationalism is racism.

Most of the time it actually is /pol/ shitposting, though.

can we please return /pol/ to its former greatness and remove the cancer that is flagposting? when /pol/ was at its best, everyone could pick the flag that best suited their person political affiliation and leanings. you could choose an american, confederate, israeli, the gadsden flag, or (god forbid) the Hakenkreuz flag of Germany. When the traitorous M00t became incensed at /pol/ for calling him a cuck, he did all he could to nuke the board. he implemented IP based flags and this has subsequently turned /pol/ into a shitposting haven that rivals /int/. /int/ is where flagposting belongs, IP based flags should be removed from /pol/ so intelligent political discourse can not be discounted by spamming "a fucking leaf" "sweden yes" or "poo in loo." these memes belong on /int/ and not on /pol/. Hiroshima Nagasaki, J00t, Hiro, whatever your nic name is, i ask you to do what M00t could not, and make /pol/ great again! Thank you.

Do people really think this?

Now that Redditspam has been addressed by the mods, what other major issues does 4chan need to have fixed?

Personally I think the number one threat that 4chan faces is from Swaglord and his raid board /s4s/. Both of them need to be removed for the betterment of the site.

There's also the problem of anime spam on nearly every board. Anime is off-topic on almost every major board, and should be banned on any board that isn't /a/.

/pol/ has been allowed to continue for far too long. They've been given many warnings and chances to change their ways. It's time to set a final ultimatum and remove the board for good.

I think that moving forward the Moderation team could vastly improve the overall content quality on the site by introducing a long timer after an initial post from a new IP.
As it stands there are currently post timers implemented to encourage thoughtful discussion and high quality content but there is no process available to make sure that someone who wants to join in on a thread or board has actually spent enough time in either to meaningfully contribute.

When a post by a user with a new IP is made a set amount of time before any new contributions can be made would go into effect. This timer should run no less than the average response time of the moderation staff (i.e the amount of time rule violating content can be left up or 3-8+ hours). This would shift the workload from moderators playing catch up to proactively forcing low content posters to cycle their IP if they want to immediately continue degrading board quality.

Breaking the ability of chronic shitposters to abuse new IPs outweighs any perceived loss of content by the individuals who will try to claim mobile posters and other individuals who have to regularly rotate IPs will be unduly effected by this type of new user/IP policy.
79 posts and 15 images submitted.
>>
This is actually a good idea. Realistically, how often are most people going to be switching IPs anyway? It generally only happens if they've been banned.
>>
I want this implemented.
>>
>>424519
>>424524
Can you think of any drawbacks to this system? Aside from aforementioned mobile posters I can't think of any other demographic bringing new IPs to the board that wouldn't benefit from a mandatory minimum timer being set before they can continue to contribute.

The only other arguments against a policy like this would be that board discussion may suffer as new users leave open threads of discussion with other users as they wait on their cooldown.

I think we've hit that point that 4chan stops being our good old trusted website and becomes the traffic attention whore slut who will change traditiional customers for more, new customers.

This website runs on advertising. By applying this kind of measure, the general population, those who are not weebs, oldfags and the kind, will bronswe 4chan more often, thus rendering gook moot more money.

I predict that within a few years, maybe just months, a lot of newfags will flood 4chan, a lot of reddit/tumblr tier rules will be added and our homeland will be burned.

I don't like this.

So, lately people from /r9k/ and /qa/ have complained about a rise in females browsing 4chan. Frankly I think both males and females are being idiots.

The entire purpose of 4chan is an anonymous 'clean-slate' community where people are only identified by the topic of the board they're in. The name 'Anonymous' means literally no info is known about said person to make the discussion completely unbiased. So why is anyone even claiming their gender? Gender, age and names should be a bannable offense if not related to the discussion of a thread.

On what grounds is being an anonymous 'clean-slate' community 4chan's entire purpose? From the "What is 4chan?" section on the front page and in the FAQ:

>4chan is a simple image-based bulletin board where anyone can post comments and share images. 4chan's collaborative-community format was inspired by one of the most popular forums in Japan, Futaba Channel. Different boards are dedicated to different topics, from Japanese anime, manga, and culture to videogames, music, and photography. Users do not need to register an account before participating in the community.
I don't see anonymity or "unbiased" discussion mentioned anywhere as being the "entire purpose" of 4chan.

Fresh off the boat, from /pol/, kid? heh I remember when I was just like you. Braindead. Lemme give you a tip so you can make it in this cyber sanctuary: never make jokes like that. You got no reputation here, you got no name, you got jackshit here. It's survival of the fittest and you ain't gonna survive long on /qa/ by saying stupid jokes that your little hugbox cuntsucking racist friends would oy vey at. None of that here. You don't oy vey. You don't kek. This ain't /pol/, kid. This is /qa/. We have REAL intellectual discussion, something I don't think you're all that familiar with. You don't like it, you can hit the bricks on over to imgur, you Infowars watching son of a bitch. I hope you don't tho. I hope you stay here and learn our ways. Things are different here, unlike any other place that the light of internet pop culture reaches. You can be anything here. Me ? heh, I'm a judge.. this place…. this place has a lot to offer… heh you'll see, kid . . . that is if you can handle it…

Not sure what your image has to do with disproving anything about Reddit, but you pretty much just posted the reason why /vp/ was created. Even though the board's existence is pointless nowadays.

Also if you've spent any reasonable amount of time in meta threads on /v/ and /a/, you'd know a good amount of today's "oldfags" came here from Gaia, so calling them a boogeyman is a bit disingenuous.
