New happenings thread, the old one is on page 10. Post about significant events happening on your homeboard or throughout 4chan.
Pretty quiet on /a/.
At least quieter than it has been, with Halloween stuff, and public executions/nipple mod stuff before that.

There is generalized joy with the new word fliters though, this is kino's doing, i can feel it.
/mlp/ has discovered that any youtube url can be copied to make a video appear in the US DOD archives.

The news has quickly spread to other boards.

Can the mods filter "tbqh" to "desuwa" ?
Can you stop being gay shaking my head to be honest family
I hope you die tbf
>>318026
Can you weebfaggot kill yourself tbf
>new word filters for the shit plaguing this site
>new universal Halloween theme
The filters should NOT be case sensitive Hiroyuki, you also need to filter variants of the words. We're also missing music. But overall AMAZING fucking changes, if anything I'd say also filter JUST in all caps, and all forms of niggerposting.
What do you guys think of the changes, and any new proposed songs?
>>313751
>any new proposed songs
other than spooky scary skeleton probably this

I for one am glad that the redditposting got filtered
Hail our chinese emperor Hirohito
I unironically think Hiroshima Nagasaki is the best thing that has happened to this site in years.
Can we please remove flags and IDs from all boards?
/int/ can keep flags, as it is a novelty board made for flags, and if we need a board with IDs we can set up /reddit/ or /forcedtrip/.
But otherwise, remove them. It compromises anonymity and it encourages shitposting and people to ignore the content of the post in favor of looking at the ID/flag instead of the post alone. That is cancerous. For example, /pol/ has become unusable for serious discussion since the introduction of flags and IDs.
If people don't like posts being anonymous, they can go...

not this shitter again
don't you have enough threads in the catalog?
Lol he's back
Have you recovered from crying and shaking like a little baby because nobody agrees with you about your shitty opinions?
>>310326
I agree with him. IDs are cancer and against the very nature of 4chan. I mean fuck, just look at moot's TED talk. Samefagging is a non-issue, and being able to change the course of discussion without being held accountable for unrelated shit is a good thing. There's literally no real reason for 4chan to have IDs, especially when you can just pop on a trip real quick if you're so autistic that you have to have an identity.
Hiro has agreed to force mods to step back on their overbearing moderation of NWS material on /a/, even though they were always allowed to post it. Does that mean we please return to the previous rules which allows Western content to be posted here?
The "no Western" rule had gone unenforced for years, and no longer served the needs of the community.
This was posted on /d/ first but deleted soon after: https://archive.loveisover.me/d/thread/6509652/
Hiro has agreed that a relaxed approach to rules and honoring standing exceptions is preferable to...

Doesn't matter, the already niche community of /d/ is split now and they won't come back as long as they can post on /aco/.
Even of /aco/ were deleted /co/ posters would migrate to /d/ and we would actually need the western rule enforced to keep out poor quality art, changing the rules on /aco/ to disallow /d/evident content would have similar results and the mods would need selectively delete western content and the whining would never end.
/d/ is kill.
>>301152
fuck off /a/ I'm not giving up yet.
let /aco/ be for western normal cartoon porn stuff or whatever /co/ wanted, let /d/ stay as it was before the mod went full hitler on anything vaguely related to not-japan
>>301152
>Doesn't matter, the already niche community of /d/ is split now and they won't come back as long as they can post on /aco/.
Most of /d/ wants to go back to /d/ tho
Every fucking day until we get one, centralized place to post lolis, from /a/, /jp/, /v/, /co/, or anywhere else that doesn't share the /b/ userbase, doesn't purge in one hour, and isn't completely filled with porn. After being chased out of /a/, /v/, /jp/, not4chan, e-hentai, paheal, lolibooru, partly off gelbooru and danboory, but being more important and larger than most of the groups there, being so ubiquitous and synonymous with otaku culture but not being able to post anywhere on the site, it's ridiculous and insulting to this site that things are the...

there are more furries tbh
Kill yourself lolifag youre just as bad as the furries and almost all of the whiny bronies
I've realized that people who type in lowercase are the ones ruining this site. What do you think?
Only those?
Honestly, /a/ is a good rule of thumb of what posters should be like.
>>295882
Nigger twitter speak posters are worse. Now watch them reply to me using only nigger twitter speak.
>>295882
WHY ARE YOU TYPING IN LOWERCASE?
>>295886
WHAT IS NIGGER TWITTER?
Hiro, are you here? Can we get a board for Japanese games only please? /v/ is really bad these days because of Westkeks who love casual dudebro garbage, "cinematic experiences" and e-celeb cancer. Another split would benefit us a lot and cut down the shitposting to a minimum.
Yesssssssssss PLEASE Hiro im sick of shitposters who only play western games ruining threads on /v/
>>314830
Shitposting begins below this post.

Reminder that if /qa/ is your home board, then you don't belong on 4chan.

Thanks, I almost forgot
and nice dubs btw tbh
>>292444
Good trips.
Remember the days of old
The days of old when wapanese was wordfiltered to the word we use today, weeaboo
It is time to enact more wordfilters, boardwide
"smh", "fam" and "tbh" (along with "tbqh") is annoying as shit and should be wordfiltered. To what? I don't know. If I were Peter G Mootleman, I would know, but I'm not.
Stop the madness, start the fun
smh ---> tbh
tbh ---> fam
fam ---> smh
epic lulz will be had
>>292363
anons use it because its fun normie tbh

OP here, I second this motion
When did tripfags stop being the majority?
later
later
When the site stopped being a somethingawful circlejerk
So how do you fags pronounce it? Is it May-may, meem, mame, or me-me?
mene
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejSRqO74Lik
>>291958
It's meem. This is the only acceptable answer. If you hear someone pronounce it differently and they're not joking or being ironic, punch them in the face.
I have next to zero experience with Reddit, but as I understand it, it was at one point pretty freewheeling as far as topics go, much like 4chan. So why is it that site is much more able to attract business? Obviously, Reddit was set up from the start to be a for profit venture, while 4chan was not. But with the ownership change and talk of the site's long term sustainability and how that may affect moderation policy going forward, this topic should be explored.
So all the start up/venture guys, what is 4chan doing wrong? What can/should it be doing that would interfere...

Watch my films.
Mostly its history and reputation. 4chan is pre-net 2.0, predating YouTube, existing alongside sites like Newgrounds and Homestar Runner. It was also a niche site specifically for anime despite the presence of all the random elements. Combined with the anonymous culture, the bad press from all the raid shit, bigotry etc. It's not a place advertisers want to go. In fact even though Reddit is a lot more advertiser friendly a lot of content on the site is getting purged because it turns advertisers off, like how r/cuckservative, r/jailbait and r/fatpeoplehate got too popular...

4chan shouldn't be operated as a profit focused business. We should be happy to make enough to pay for server costs and development.
Can we rename /soc/ to "White Knight Central"?
Seriously that whole board makes me ashamed to be male
it's full of thirsty faggots trying to contactfag these ugly/average girls.
>>291461
>Can we rename /soc/ to "White Knight Central"?
Make this thread again right before April Fools Day.
>>291461
What the fuck. Literally nobody is going to get hooked up through /soc/, and I can think of nothing bad that would happen if we nuked the board. It seems to just attract snapchat using normies and other undesirables.
Each IP should be unable to post on 4chan until its visited the site on at least 15 different days in a 30 day period, and default back to being unable to post if it goes two weeks without posting once.
>>291133
That would be horrid for people with dynamic IPs and a lot of other technical stuff could go wrong that i'm probably just not aware of
>>291146
The biggest problem with it is that the idea is inherently stupid from beginning to end.
>>291133
It's already downright impossible to report or post on 4chan as it is. It takes like some kind of bot to get passed the captcha system.
