New happenings thread, the old one is on page 10. Post about significant events happening on your homeboard or throughout 4chan.

Pretty quiet on /a/.

At least quieter than it has been, with Halloween stuff, and public executions/nipple mod stuff before that.

There is generalized joy with the new word fliters though, this is kino's doing, i can feel it.

I love the fucking filters!
>>

there are filters? on what words
/his/ is in turmoil, the fucking mods seem to have forgotten about it and all kinds of trash is coming up. Its a damn shame too, the discussion earlier today was looking good
>>
>>318734
>a dead chink

literally who cares? How is this 4chan related at all?
>>
>>318767
Pretty rude desu.

Considering our board has it all over the front page I'd say it's related or are we not allowed to mention happenings for our board ?
>>
>>318760
I don't like the kek filter. It feels weird that all the other filters are getting rid of /srs/ memes but then the /pol/ meme is filtered to an /srs/ meme.
I mean what?
>>
>>318778
Not when it has nothing to fucking do with 4chan. Go back to your home board if you want to circlejerk about your waifu

>>
>>318759
Well, there was the 60 mill get recently. It was just the word "memes", and it got stickied with music playing in the background.

It most certainly is.

Nope. Keke != kek

>>
>>318800
If a board is having a sticky about it, it's a happening.
It's certainly more related since /a/ is the only decent board in 4chan that mods and hiro listen to, newfag.
>>
>>318802
Kek came from Ylilauta and was quickly adopted by [s4s].
>>
>>318800
It's a happening on our board (even got sticky which is rare) and our board is part of 4chan. I'm pretty sure this is not the first time similar things have been posted no clue why you're making a stink now

Basically /mlp/ discovered the DoD uses google to host it's video archive so if you plug the URL in you can play any YouTube video from their site. People were messing around with that and taking screenshots etc.

/x/ is worse than usual thanks to Halloween funposters.
>>
>>319109
No, every post that's getting deleted are blatant troll posts or racist posts irrelevant to the topic at hand. There have been no unfair deletions on /his/, you faggots are just trying to make it a shitposting board while everyone else is trying to discuss history.
>>
>>319585
Halloween fun posting is probably preferabe to RP and lazy conspiracy threads. Do you guys still have 3+ Tarotcard reader threads a day?
>>
>>319863
Chances are some normal posts have been caught in the crossfire, but not a significant enough amount to care.
>>
>>318710
One of our namefags got borderline doxxed, and is now impersonated as a meme.
This is a problem because we're already one of the slowest boards, and the good ones are leaving and shit threads are staying on page 1 for weeks at a time.
>>
>>319914
What board?
>>
>>319870
I occasionally stop by /x/ in hopes that the mods have put an actual sticky up, then see they haven't, see unironic succubus summoning and tulpa threads, see a bunch of newfags talking about the Illuminati, then leave in sadness. It's just ridiculous. How can one board remain so raped, broken, and neglected?

Literally? Well, he posts in random threads, which nukes the threads because everyone freaks out or he derails discussion. He also starts threads about odd subjects, usually dealing with weaponizing ants as a biological weapon and, most recently, dropping them out of planes.

For fun? He tortures animals, throws ants on them, and posts pictures of it on the internet. He first appeared in an improvised/melee weapons thread, wherein in the background of a picture of a rusty axe or whatever, there was a child's shoe to which he only said "It clearly isn't mine" or some such. I think with a smiley face.

He has also posted a now well-circulated post critiquing and clearly enjoying a torture story a little too much. He has also posted accounts of how he tortured like five cats to death, among other various examples of him torturing small animals with pictorial evidence. This has been going on for about a month now. He has not been banned

There's a reason I posted Manson.
>>
>>320321
>Well, he posts in random threads, which nukes the threads because everyone freaks out or he derails discussion.
Don't worry. The mods get around to that sort of thing after about 5 months without fail. Just ask /a/ and /tg/.
>For fun? He tortures animals, throws ants on them, and posts pictures of it on the internet.
Well this might place it on the express lane. Expect action in about a month.

>>321907
Try not to be a hostile asshat, that's not what I fucking meant. If there's not enough demand and we just keep creating boards for random little topics, the site just becomes another generic discussion site.
>>
>>321907
Just look at 8ch.
It has boards for every single topic. In the end the userbase just keeps dividing itself and getting smaller and smaller. It just doesn't work like that.
>>
>>321899
Oh god. Another unnecessary board conflict. And no, only a small portion of /tg/ users have been asking for that.
>>
>>321923
>Another unnecessary board conflict
Actually not.
It seems /lit/ got what they wanted: Being able to talk about philosophy-related books.
I think this new board won't happen, it's for the best anyway, fanfics are shit.
>>
>>321800
He's out of control. Now is the time to get him to remake /l/.
>>
>>321931
I meant the comment about splitting /tg/ unnecessarily.

While I am glad he clarified that, it does betray a fundamental misunderstanding of 4chan's organization. As soon as staff say X belongs on board Y, that means all conversation about X starts getting redirected to board Y. I hope he figures out that that's the (previous) structure after this.

So, do you guys think Hiro's newfaggotry is going to finally kill 4chan? Sure the idea of making new boards sounds nice but years after years without change made people grow used to their own situations, and even with the help from the mods he still seems to be oblivious of how much those decisions can backfire him later, even if he isn't doing something evil behind the curtains part of me wishes he simply left this place like it is and did nothing, not try to fix what isn't broken just because 10-15 people say its broken

>>
The only really bad thing Hiro has done recently was the greenlight for /trash/.
I don't care about /his/ but people have been asking for it for a long time now, and it seems interesting enough in its own way.
>>
>>332087
/trash/ is obviously a joke board that isn't sticking around, either that or its going to be a good place to redirect all the stupid suggestions people make here, plus now furfags and horsefuckers can have their own shithole, when you think about it, /trash/ is like 4chan hell
>OP makes a shit thread
>Is throw in the pit where he is forced to watch his thread get destroyed by shitposters, bronies and furries
Truly a fate worst than death
>I don't care about /his/ but people have been asking for it for a long time now, and it seems interesting enough in its own way.
True, i just wish the community wasn't so assblasted and autistic, that place will easly reach /co/ levels of bad with "muh /pol/ is invading" boogeyman, they are lucky shitposters don't give a shit about history
>>
>>332087
Nigga what? /trash/ is a blessing in disguise. People wanted /z/ back, people wanted /fur/, people wanted /amlp/, and people wanted off-topic posts that still provide great discussion to be handled bettet than "delete lol XD", and in one fatal swoop, he handled all those problems. He killed 4 birds with one stone.

Shitposting always happens in a new board, especially one that doesn't have a designated topic.

Now all he needs to do is make /l/, fix /aco/, do something about these captchas, and enable audio webms for all boards, and we would be GOLDEN
>>
>>332106
>make /l/
As much as I would like it, I don't think it's happening.
It's not even allowed in the /trash/ board, why would they make one for it?

Maybe if the NSA becomes the board janitor.
>>
>>332106

>>

>>
>>332106

For fuck's sake no, this is a horrible idea
Why do you think having fucking annoying soundbites play every time you click on an image would be a good idea
>>
>>332176
>>332184
Actually, sound is muted by default, but i agree, its a bad idea
>>
>>332176
>>332184

I'm fucking tired of having to either use shitty ass gifs, or convert to soundless webms when I'm trying to show a specific scene of a show or game.

In fact, 4chan is very outdated as a whole when it comes to file support. I mean come on, it's [current year], and 4chan still doesn't have apng support, mp4 support, or a bigger filesize for pictures? And no fucking sound for webm's too?

It's not like you can't see what the fuck your clicking, it says on the filename ".webm", and it's muted by default, meaning your argument of "what about the screammers" is null and void. Give me one valid reason as to why webms shouldn't have audio, atleast on boards like /tv/ and /v/.

1) you get to call him a huge fag
2) (very important) you add to the ongoing discussion.

Amazing how you're getting so butthurt about a comment that points out a stupid misunderstanding (one that was posted on Tuesday at that) that you feel the need to reply with a generic and shallow "back to reddit" parroting and then KEEP whining about it.
>>
>>332800
>that is the single most retarded philosophy that has ever been invented.
It's right up there with "change just for the sake of change"
>>
>>333007
you should keep capitalizing specific words in your sentence it really makes you sound smarter

>>333000
ok I'll add to the discussion. /qa/ and /his/ are now full of whiny faggots that want every little thing to go exactly as they want and they get mad whenever someone has a different opinion than them because they think their opinion is better. sounds like they want a hugbox
>>
>>333014
I could get behind your opinion until you dissed on capitalization for emphasis
>>
>>333014
You seem really frustrated at a problem in this thread that doesn't even exist. Are you mad at the post that clearly explains that a lot of boards for a lot of different topics that don't have a lot of demand has the potential to damage the site's culture by attracting people that we don't want? How was that getting mad at another opinion? I think you need to take a walk outside. It's not about wanting a hugbox, it's about responding intelligently to the fact that internet culture is mainstream, and that you have to take into account the possibility of the site changing for the worse with the influx of users that bring in change that is unwanted. Look at /x/ for instance. If you have an actual argument, by all means, post it, but I have the feeling you're just going to get red in the face and yell "faggot" again.
>>
>>332974
This infographic is retarded.

I also like how the writer pushes the idea he's an oldfag.
>>
>>333014
>/qa/ and /his/ are now full of whiny faggots that want every little thing to go exactly as they want and they get mad whenever someone has a different opinion than them because they think their opinion is better.
There we go, that's better. I'm not too sure >>321867, however, was really whining, sounds more like concerned more than anything.
Actual whining to me would be making a thread or posts about a particular issue and calling for action, like so many dumbasses on /qa/ do today ever since the Q&A session.
Don't know how /his/ is faring these days so I won't comment on it.
I've said this before, but people really need to stick to the philosophy of bumping interesting meta threads (such as this one) and ignoring the complaining threads calling for action.

>>333022
Some of it does seem pretty dumb, guy in it sounds like he has a stick up his ass about people using normalfag. If he really was an oldfag he wouldn't be so upset at the idea of people using tripcodes considering that shit was the norm in the early days of the site.
>>
>>333035
>Don't know how /his/ is faring these days so I won't comment on it

The only problems in /his/ are blatant Nazi/Jew troll posts, and idiots who would rather start a chain of "go back to /pol/" posts than ignore and report them. The board is still fine though, it's not a problem that's totally destroying it, but it's a big enough one to where the people who want the best for the board need to start using their brains.
>>
>>333035
>tripcodes
>ever being the norm
>implying

That's about the only thing he's right about tbqhwy. Maybe in 2003, I don't know.
>>
>>333054
it was but only in the very beginning when everyone came from SA
>>
>>333054
>tripcodes
>ever being the norm
Yes, it completely was, up until 2005 at the latest.
Every single screencap pretty much taken from 2003-2005 will prove this to be true.
Hell, there's one screencap that gets posted here from time to time of that 2004 thread discussing the Nintendo DS entirely full of tripfags. The idea of Anonymous didn't exist at the time. So yes, tripcodes were the norm in the beginning.
>>
>>333054
>>implying
no one is implying shit. He clearly states that tripcodes were the norm.
And they were. They are out of place with current culture, though
>>
>>333071
>The idea of Anonymous didn't exist at the time.
By this I mean forced/encouraged Anonyomus name field, anyway (basically what we have today).
>>
m8s this is the happening thread, not the pointless bickering about the state of 4chan thread
>>
>>333081
go fuck yourself I'll post what I want where I want. all your boards are shit
>>
>>333081
Thread already hit bump limit, anyway, so it isn't a complete loss. Maybe this just means it's a slow day and nothing interesting has happened, so we're left to our own devices at calling each other faggots.

This thread will still stick around for another 1-2 days on this board. So hitting the bump limit doesn't mean much.
>>
>>333195
True. Guess I'm still stuck in the pre-catalog mentality.
>>
>/trash/ right now
>Role-playing threads
>Pokemon Porn threads
>Pony Porn threads
>Furry Porn threads
It's good this is all contained there, but it makes me wonder if it's a good choice on the long run.
>>
>>332802
>/trash/ with tripfags
no thanks
>>
>>333035
>I've said this before, but people really need to stick to the philosophy of bumping interesting meta threads (such as this one) and ignoring the complaining threads calling for action.
This right here, people are so focused on bitching about rules that they forgot that this board is about more than that, /qa/cks used to do that back in the day with shitposting and it worked just fine
>>
>>333413
>a containment board's containment board
If shit goes down, there will now be a place for everyone to overflow to.
>>
>>333413
Is Furry seriously not banned there? I'm surprised considering what happened with /fur/ and all, had the impression it'd pretty much never be accepted here on 4chinz

Part of me thinks it could be /fur/ 2.0 annd everyone who posts there will be banned soon, but I've actually posted there. Don't dare go back now though
>>
>>333413
I saw some /a/ shit threads like "What have you learned about incest, /a/" in typical rugasmalls tradition.
>>
>>334038
Wait, so threads do go into the /trash/?
>>
>>334016
>I'm surprised considering what happened with /fur/ and all, had the impression it'd pretty much never be accepted here on 4chinz
Several furry generals are up on all times on /b/ for ages. Furry was never disallowed to post becazse we all know you can bend the rules by just spamming hard enough(see creation of /his/, the culture state of /v/ or /a/ nipplegate).
>>
>>334016
>it could be /fur/ 2.0
I doubt Hiro would be so bold.
>>
[s4s] is trying to get hiro to notice them and unlist them. >>>/s4s/3880720
>>
>>334112
How about just removing them entirely
>>
>>334152
pretty rude desu
>>
>>334112
I don't think it's needed.
Now that /trash/ exists people will stop going on [s4s] just to shitpost shit, so they can keep with their usual posting all they want.
>>
>>332974
This has some laws, will fix it.
>>
>>334171
>people will stop going on [s4s] just to shitpost shit,
So people will stop using [s4s]?
>>
Did 4chan died for while?
>>
>>334644
I don't think so.
>>
>>334042
yep, the functionality totally works.
I saw a /sug/ moved from /co/ there too.
Great stuff. All the people that browse it see this new weird thread and they go in screaming, it's hilarious.
>>
>>334171
you don't understand [s4s] friend. It's not just '/b/ 3.0' as some people call it. Just because it doesn't have a definite topic doesn't mean it's not worthwhile. It's one of my favorites desu senpai.
>>
>>334788
I do understand it, but recently [s4s] has been invaded by other boards, /pol/ for an example, and they do nothing but bring they shit into it and ruin the usual threads and discussions.
I'm saying now these people will just go to the /trash/.
