>Every thread I make on various boards gets no replies
>If you want replies you have to fill the OP with bait
>OPs can no longer bump their threads
What are your thread numbers like? Do threads you make usually become successful?
Well my gachimuchi thread on /v/ got a sticky so pretty successful
>>409200
How long do you wait?
If you are looking for 200 replies within 5 minutes, that's really only possible on /b/ or maybe /v/ or /sp/, maybe even /pol/ during a happening. My point is that you can still have a quality thread even if it gets 1 reply every 12 hours.
>>409204
Most popular boards have threads being archived if they don't get a single reply in 30-40 minutes or less
New board added to rival [s4s]
[Edit]
These are the kinds of quality threads we've all come to expect from /qa/.
>>409220
At least copy the exclamation points.
Anyone else wish Steam had a "not funny" button?
Hello pajeet
>>409182
lol
That's what the funny button is for, it's just censored as to not trigger the autist that wrote the "review".
Re-allow the discussion of philosophical texts on /lit/
>>409118
this. there is little philosophy on /his/. It's two seperate userbases dicussing two seperate things.
Also, can /lit/ get some fucking moderation? I had to report seven threads today and I've only been on for a few minutes. Most of the catalog is dross. I used to assume absent mods was just a thing on boards the staff might have an axe to grind but why /lit/? It's like they want this sight to be ran into the ground.
>>409412
>Also, can /lit/ get some fucking moderation?
seriously this and not just for offtopic threads, all the tangentially related to literature threads that can be contained to a single thread, tangentially related to literature threads that are obviously in violation of rules 3 and 6. But also garbage in threads that actually have a chance to be good: offtopic replies, complaining about 4chan, complaining about reddit and avatarfagging really need to be cleaned out.
bumping and posting in a >>>/lit/ complaint thread.
these are fairly rare comparatively.

I know I'm going to get shit on hard but it's becoming more and more apparent that Reddit users are lurking and posting. The way they type is like they're trying to prove a point when it's not a reply to a post. They ask questions within their posts to ask if they "fit-in" (not literal, but it's obvious that it's a begging for attention). Over the past two weeks, it's been getting worse. On boards like /his/ and /pol/ I see it a lot. Even on fucking [s4s] it's clear as day. People fucking claim they're from Reddit on /pol/ and on /sci/ the Reddit science logo was used as the OP image. I'm not saying that all Reddit users are bad, but a majority that come over here are very cancerous to actual discussion. We need to do something about it, just telling them to leave won't work.
Pic not related.
I completely agree with you.
the nature of reddit encourages users to seek attention and validation with their posts not discuss the topic at hand.
The only way to solve this is to ban them, but I highly doubt Hiro will do it.
>>409086
It's funny how it's the little things that make them give themselves away, like the use of exclamations, use of ''omg'' ''wtf'' and such.
When is it gonna be over
Why did you enforced them sitewide and not only on /b/ for teh lulz
why hirohito

Congrats reddit-kun, you found a 2 year old feature.
If you love all artistic mediums equally and wish to analyze/compare media across mediums, what can you do on 4chan?
I have three examples, from weakest to strongest:
1) What's the best animated film of all time?
Let's say you want to talk about what you deem are the best animated films, and say that you believe the End of Evangelion and The Iron Giant.
You can't post this on /co/ because EoE is an anime, you can't post this on /a/ because The Iron Giant is western, and you can't post this on /tv/ because both of these are animated. Where would you go?
2) "What is the x of y?"
Let's say that a videogame has a possibly unique method of getting across a narrative, and you wish to see if there are novels that it may draw influence from, or just plain share the type of narrative structure/content/etc.
If you were to post "What is the Drakengard of literature" on /lit/, you'd get banned/warned for posting videogames on a literature board. If you post it on /v/, you won't get a response because most people who play videogames don't read literature, and even if they did, the thread would go to page 10 because it's far less interesting than the discussion of actual videogames.
3) It encourages discussion of art on a deeper, more complex, less discriminatory, and more intelligent level.
If you follow any of these people's essays and analysis: Every Frame a Painting, MathewMatosis, and Demolition D+, then you understand what I'm referring to here. There's absolutely no way to encourage or incentivize the discussion of what makes any given piece of art "good" in any board aside from /ic/, the board that's literally called "Artwork/Critique." You can't encourage/incentivize this because I'm going to be completely honest here, most 12 yo's that shitpost on 4chan find this type of discussion INCREDIBLY BORING, and many users will sage this types of threads because they believe that their own artistic medium isn't deep/complex and has no potential to be deep/complex, such as videogames and cartoons. There's no way to discuss the philosophy of what makes art good/bad on any given board because the moment you mention any other artistic medium (such as videogames on /mu/ or literature on /v/) you get laughed at by the art-bigoted userbase. There's no way to discuss and appreciate/chastise the differences between all mediums on any other board for the aforementioned reason.
Because the majority of the userbase of each given art/hobby board discriminates against other artistic mediums, there is no way of discussing and comparing the pro's and con's of each in an intelligent manner.
So, /qa/, after all of this, I have one thing to ask:
What can someone like me do, not use this website for this purpose and try a different one? I'd even be content with a board being made dedicated to this exact problem and having 20x the amount of advertizements, it certainly wouldn't be as popular as /b/ or /v/, which means that the owner/admins of 4chan would still make a hefty amount of money here.
What do you guys think?
lol nerd also #banime

t-thanks
Can we please filter the word Reddit in /tv/?
back to reddit
Hello Reddit
>>408983
You can do it yourself with a little scripting knowhow.
I've been here a long while (2011 is the earliest I remember visiting.)
I know 4chans reputation is edgy and people come here to act like complete shit heads normally, but is it just me or are more people than their used to be acting like complete sociopaths? I'm not saying I want 4chan to coddle people or be softer, hell I like the take no nonsense attitude it normally has, but I feel like I'm noticing more of the unpleasant asshole kind of behaviour instead of the good ol' fashioned 4chan asshole behavior.
anyone else echo the sentiment?
>>408886
Yes, of course.
You'd be surprised how much damage one lunatic can bring.
been here since 2006 sporadically.
it's backlash against web2.0, I'd sound absolutely insane if I tried to explain it and you'd tell me to fuck off back to /x/ but it's essentially a certain group of people that are disillusioned with what the internet has become as of late, probably started browsing around 2008-2011, witnessed the last days of 'old /b/' and have spent the rest of their time here trying to recapture that hostility.
>>408892
sounds likely
PLEASE do something about the Turkish spammer on /int/ right now. Where the fuck are the janitors?
don't think mods care about /int/ anymore
such a shame really.
A little moderating and the board wouldn't be /b/ tier
A porn thread has been up for almost two hours.
Permaban that turk and country ban for 1 week
What is the worst fanbase on your homeboard?
What makes them so shit?
/v/ - undertale/undertale's hatebase
they never stop posting threads, won't let it die.

holy fug these digs I like
this board is the epitome of newfaggotry and reeks of tumblr users who are upset that things aren't going their way. please just delete /qa/; maybe it will even help some people go outside and contribute something to society
>>408875
I think it should be kept around and I'm posting this from outside.
Why are links underlined on SFW boards but not underlined on NSFW boards?? Hiro has really given up on this site I can't believe he lets reddit get away with this
/qa/ is like a good version of /s4s/. You can shitpost all you want and get away with it. It only sucks when /s4s/ people try to come in and enforce their own shitposting culture. Like really, fuckers? You're so greedy you need two boards for the same brand of shitposting? Fuck off.
Honestly, having an unlisted shitposting board is fine. Why isn't /s4s/ unlisted?
Why does this keep fucking happening? I can't post anything. Mook pls
Then how did you just post this thread?
Checkmate.
>>408842
Many, many tries.
This one took 4.
I'm getting it as well, OP. Thought it was my goddamn keyboard at first.
