Why are people on this site so fucking cancerous when someone dies?
Do people not know how to mourn someone properly?

Him having a small influence on a few anime/video game titles doesn't mean he deserves a million fucking threads on those boards, especially since they're nothing but off-topic circlejerking. Even mods have been deleting them but they still persist.
Why don't we have a board where we can discuss the news and current events?
Pic not really that related.
>>408191
What the fuck? When did that happen? Well, thanks.
At the moment a thread on /a/ - the Daily Japanese Thread- is getting routinely bombarded by shills and retards, promoting a terribly paid product from https://wanikani.com
This is against the rules yet since the option to flag for advertising is gone, and that mods are fucking useless, these shitposters and shills go ignored.
This has been going on for weeks now and they are building up a grass roots style approach to attempt to undermine the free and superior resources used is this thread. It isn't just people being jocular about different methodologies, this is genuine demagoguery to persuade fags who are coming to the thread after New Year's, to pay $200 for this shitty service.

amongst others. It's probably likely these are perpetrated by the same person.
But I really do wonder. Certainly that is not mentally healthy to behave like that.
I think they must feel deeply inferior and unable to make themselves heard in regular conversation. They don't feel like anyone will listen to them unless it is out of annoyance.
If I had to act like an advertisement to get a reply I'd feel like I had failed as a human being.
Memes are the informational equivalent of genes. In the real world, genes that are not adept at survival will fade out. Genes that positively effect the reproduction of the organism are carried over.
As this analogy carries over, memes that exhibit traits that make them very easy to reproduce (think "easy of use" as well as "information to effort ratio") will be reproduced more and more.
This, however, does lead to a "downward spiral" as the environment; the "meme ecosystem" keeps becoming more and more laconic. So whereas in years gone by, a "meme" might be an image macro or a funny face, and to reproduce it you had to have and know how to use Photoshop, the higher rate of turnover and those external forces have pushed memes further and further down, to now they are naught but short bits text, ready to go in any context.
The extra-internet forces, like Twitter's natural 140-limit also forces people to be leaner with their typing, and they're not use to it. Additionally, the overt social-pressures added by things like Facebook (as it stands, your Internet "Profile") have forced people to become less and less offensive in their thoughts, for fear of ostracization, which feeds back into the newer laconic-model of internet speech. Speak fewer words, and there is less of a chance of offending someone.
And now we have "emojis," even going into the dictionaries of the world. Pictographics that convey nothing but feelings.
If you're worried that people on 4chan are replying to anything you say with "Reddit" or "Fedora," you're going to feel much, much worse when 90% of the posts you see contain no text at all. Just a smiley-face and confetti.

Can mods please start enforcing Global Rule 3? I'm sick and tired of people injecting racist rants outside of /pol/ and /b/. There's literally no reason to start spewing racial slurs in /v/ and other boards.

Petting dog bellies: Clockwise and or Counter clockwise?
>>407916
Up down with your fingernails, on the rib cage. Don't rub the belly, it's too close to the dick you zoophile.
Both and more. A good petting technique changes consistantly, like a stream.
Alright, now how about human bellies?
What can be done about the liberal bias in 4chan moderation?
>>407595
Become a liberal.
hope that one day hiro hired mods with no political motivation, i've honestly never seen mods delete conservative leaning shit, but I mainly stick to /out/ and /jp/ (not exactly places politics get discussed)
Recently diagnosed anti socoal personality disorder and due for inpatient stay at a psych unit so what can i take to the unit and what should i expect from a stay there also what treatment do you get for aspd cos i dont feel like i need anything at all desu but im forced and dont want to be forced drugs onto me so what should i expect in terms of treatmenf aswell
>>407499 (dubs)
I thought you said you had anti-socal (Southern California) personality disorder and you were a really cool guy lol. Just explain to people why you're an asshole to everyone instead of bottling it up inside and it will no longer be considered a disorder. Also most psychology isn't actually super scientific and what is and isn't a disorder is determined by the ruling authority of said country (e.g. in one country pedophilia is a mental disorder and another it is normal behavior and another it is a fetish and a crime). Anti-personality disorder is more common in the 3rd world as scaring people away helps them not get close enough to take what little you have from you.
If you go to a psyche ward you might not be able to legally leave unless Dr. McHippy truly believes you are cured. You probably will not be given any medications to take besides a mild antidepressant which won't really do anything unless you both understand what is causing you to be a big meanie and are able to deal with it. If it is something you can't control (e.g. "I am living paycheck to paycheck and can't move on!") you probably just have some mild depression and just deal with it (in a paycheck to paycheck scenario just eat pb&j for a year and stop being a faggot).
Also you probably won't be able to join the army because any who takes any psychological advice has an increased risk of self harm or harming the unit, so don't have that as a plan in your life. No stigma intended.
Also keep in mind most people are terrible but many try to do their best. If the ones around you don't do their best just remind them every so often to do so and be sure to do your best as well.
>>407499 (dubs)
good double
>>407536
Ok well i wasnt planning on joining the army
I dont live paychecl to paycheck and im not depressed in life rn
I admit the big meanie part im very selfish and bully people to get what i want so i suppose i can admit that
What do you mean about trying my best ?
Also i really agree with the psychology being bullshit bit like how am i disordered just because im abit selfish its not like i killed anyone but desu i dont know much about aspd specifically but im pretty sure i know quite alot about psychology in general and i know its all bullshit
Finally what do you mean about me being cool is that like a sarcastic insult or something
Also in a psyche ward would i be with other people with this 'disorder' or will i be with anyone
>created as a containment board

Why is this allowed to happen?
>>407405
"containment board" is a myth.
I blame teenagers and university-kids who go to /pol/ for epic memes, and ultra-nationalist east-euros.
>>407405
The things about /pol/ you don't like infect the entire internet and doesn't originate on /pol/
Why does Global Rule 15 still exist? The rabid popularity of MLP has lowered tremendously on the internet since the fandom's height in 2011-2012. No longer are we in an age where you'll see people spamming it everywhere or having pony avatars on every forum. The fandom has mostly fiddled down to its own niche sections and don't appear too much in the wrong places anymore.
I bring this up because on several boards throughout the site, a user who people refer to as "Barneyfag" has been shitposting his hate for MLP and the show "Barney and Friends" since 2012 and still has regular posts about it to this day, often using the same images and such in his posts. This user has an RSS feed that tells hime whenever a post on any board even remotely related to MLP is posted, even when the image in question could look completely innocuous to one not rabidly familiar with the show and its fandom. This has resulted in the derailing of numerous good threads that were on-topic to board content in question. This user often cites that GR15 is one of the reasons he does this, as GR15 clearly states that MLP content is against the rules. He breaks the anti-ban evasion rule to try and get that rule enforced due to his past history with the series, and its unhealthy for him and ruins threads on various boards, including, but not limited to:
/v/, /co/, /fit/, /tg/, /an/ and so on.
https://desustorage.org/_/search/filename/bronies%2C%20this%20is%20your%20mindset/
https://arch.b4k.co/_/search/boards/g.v/filename/bronies%2C%20this%20is%20your%20mindset/ (this one doesn't go too far back due to the newness of the /v/ archive, but it still shows what he does) (1/2)
>>407237
Whenever banned, this user just ban evades and comes back to shitpost some more, sometimes not using his usual images to mask himself. If GR15, this user might have no further reason to continue doing this.
However note that I'm not stating that this user alone is the only reason this should be done. As I said, the rule is archaic and no longer necessary due to the fandom's dissipation over the years. Its already against the rules to post off-topic content on boards, so if the rule were removed it would both help prevent shitposting from people spamming anti-MLP stuff in threads when a post is only remotely related to it and otherwise on topic (if at all related to MLP) and allow boards to generate more on-topic content. I'd like /mlp/ to have a relationship with the other boards sort of akin to how /vp/ relates to /v/ and /a/. The Pokemon anime is allowed on /a/, and Pokemon video games are allowed on /v/, however anything not on-topic to either of those isn't allowed on those boards since its off-topic. Off-topic posting is disallowed.
I suppose a large part of what I'm saying also refers to some of GR3, since a lot of shitposting on boards will come due to whatever show or game or whatever is about and what content it has. For example, Sly Cooper games might get spammed by some anti-furry dude, or someone might tell loli-fags to go away when a thread for Hyperdimension Neptunia is made.
But that's a topic for another time, and I'm mainly interested in wondering why Global Rule 15 is still a thing and if it can be removed. (2/2)
>>407238
You should bring up that because of how the rule is written, (i.e. the brony part) he is essentially exploiting a loophole that allows him to get legit threads deleted because they are tangentially related to the show, not related to the show but made by a fan of the show, or posted on a pony fan site thus making them brony images.
>>407261
I've seen some Metroid and Kirby threads get closed because of his shit since somehow a fanart drawing of Samus and Kirby are pony related
of course, that's not even counting the sheer amount of spam he spreads while in the thread itself
