Which means what you'll be seeing on /qa/ soon isn't /a/ users complaining about the lack of modding, but rather the people who got their shit deleted/banned complaining /a/ is too tough/elitist. this is kind of a minor quibble, but /pol/'s official title should be changed to "Politics" instead of "Politically Incorrect"
The latter is obviously a very loaded term, and it has pretty strong connotations of racism from the get-go.
Every other board has a comparatively neutral title and the vast majority (aka all aside from s4s and r9k) have straightforward descriptive titles clearly outlining what is supposed to be discussed in line with their own board rules - so why not /pol/?

It was very different from what you know now because 4chan was a different place entirely. When it was created in 1989, 4chan was used as a place to discuss and trade rare snail shells (hence the rarely used nickname, "slime town"). Of course, this all changed when Christopher Moot bought 4chan in 1997 and restructured it into the anime themed image board that it is today. Most users left after the buyout, but some "oldshells" still frequent the site.

Sorry but this is exactly why 4chan didn't add support for MNG or APNG or anything else like that is because not everything supports it. 4chan isn't about to become a website that can only be accessed on one kind of browser, on one kind of operating system, by one kind of person, for one kind of topic, no matter how much you want it to.
If it were, 4chan would probably end up going with some bizarre open source codec inside MKV containers as the only filetype allowed.
