Can someone explain to me why there is a thread about videogames in /sp/ when /vg/ exists? Thank you.
Is it because there is a group on /sp/ that likes to make soccer teams for each board on 4chan then have them compete against each other in simulated matches?
>>565399
4chan cup is okay, it's meta. But /fifa/ is what triggers me.
With that logic, F1 threads should only be allowed on /o/, and happy hour threads on /tv/
Threads are interchangeable - in regards to fifa, it's a video game about sports, therefore it's allowed on both /sp/ and video game-related boards. This same applies to /trb/ and NBA2K threads.
There's also a much larger audience who play sports games on /sp/ than any other board. As an example, go to /v/ and /vg/and try to find a sports game-related thread, they either hit page 10 with 0 replies, or are met with criticism and greentexts.
Why do we not get public bans anymore? (or at least a lot less frequent)
I think the quality of a lot of boards would improve with public bans.
A lot of people keep spamming the same shit and don't realize it's against the rules when it gets deleted and just go ahead and keep spamming shit.
What do you think?
>>565384
I wholeheartedly agree.
More pub bans would definitely lead to less shitposting.
Those "this place is just for shitposting" fags need to get it first.
Any time a poster is publicly banned (or warned) it derails the thread, which sucks if the thread has potential to be good.
I think mods should only do it if it's the OP or it's an extremely shitty thread to begin with, and they should put the thread on autosage at the same time so all the ">(USER WAS BANNED FOR THIS POST)" reaction image spam doesn't bump it.
>>565539
I agree, but when it happens make it a sticky and lock it for a few hours.
really makes you think...
Jesus fuck
24 threads about ponies/gr15
That's 16% of all threads on /qa/
I think it's time for a purge
>>565046
We needan inquisition or sorts.
It's hard to tell if the spammer is for or against GR15 or falseflagging for/against GR15
>>565041
It does, doesn't it?
I use proxies to listen to anime OSTs and watch videos that would be blacklisted due to the bullshit Youtube Red system, but its becoming an annoyance shutting off the proxy every time I want to post and then turning it back on
Is there any way I could have some form of a proxy while using 4chan?
>>564894
create multiple browser profiles, some of which are proxied, some of which aren't
>>564894
hola.org
>>564894
>Is there a way to be able to use 4chan while on a proxy?
Very likely not since known proxy ranges are proactively banned. Those that 4chan presently isn't aware of end up banned quickly enough for their use in illegal activities. You'd even be hard pressed to get Tor to work with the site.
So no, you'll likely never get proxies that work with the site. It would take hours of hunting to find a non-banned proxy, and I'm sure some jackass will just end up...

You can't just "stop phoneposters"
That's not how shit works
/g/ has too long been infested with Windows gamer kiddies. It's time to purge them once and for all.
Any of the following regularly occurring topics on /g/ is either directly or indirectly about products for playing video games:
* Intel vs. AMD
* Nvidia vs. AMD
* Various types of rig/battlestation/guts/Speccy threads ("Which parts should I buy, /g/?" "Is this part good, /g/?" "Check out my specs, /g/.")
* Windows discussion and support (No one on /g/ talks about Visual Studio or Azure or Office 365 or anything by Microsoft...

/g/ doesn't discuss programming network, security, privacy, freedom, design, usability, robotics, biotech, ai, space exploration, or tech culture.
okay, maybe tech culture like that one time some black woman was harrassed by dongles or some shit.
the most /g/ does is set up porn ftps or install old or obscure os's to blog about it.
>>564784
Just browse the tech subreddit
This place is for shitposting, anyway. You'd have to be pretty autistic to bother with any of this.
>>564784
What a stupid idea. Where does it say that /g/ is for linux autists? In fact removing linux from /g/ will have the most net benefit as linux autists never post anything of value and just make a shitton of garbage like desktop generals
Ban anime from 4chan, hiro i think its time you release this is an american site full of normal people
AMERICAN SITE
FULL OF NORMAL PEOPLE
Don't ban anime, ban moe
>>564564
Im cool with this. There is not a single moe series worth watching.
Save /qa/ by saging garbage threads until they hit bump limit

>go to /pol/
>all the threads are the same old things, which are funny for a bit but reading the same shit over and over gets boring
>go to /qa/
>don't really know what I was expecting to do
>this board is both slow and boring with the same "delete...

I go to other chans. If you visit smaller ones, periodically, you can binge on all the posts that accumulated in your absence. I play a game. Play piano or guitar. Check my youtube subscriptions to see if there's any new vids. Check some stream sites to see if there's anything I fancy.
That's it, really.
>>564189
>go to /sp/
>board is slow and kinda boring at night
That was 100% /q/'s fault for this happening
Night time /sp/ used to be the place to be on 4chan
>>564189
do literally any other hobby of yours
>tfw 4chan is so trash because of this joke of a moderation and dev team that they even removed the quality banners
what went wrong?
This place is trash because people think it should be trash because the mods allow it to be trash because they think the users want it to be trash. The userbase or the mods. Who has worse standards?
Everyone hates it, but nobody seems to care about fixing it.
>>564139
I think it's mostly that 4chan is far too big for the mod team to handle, the volume is tremendous.
Either 99% of janitors wash out for one reason or another or they're just too picky about adding new janitors. With every new round of janitors the place never seems to change any, at least on /tv/ in particular. If I was there I would just add a ton of janitors and worry about getting rid of the bad ones later.
It can be really hard to predict who's going to be a good mod, especially on some...

Gib state flags on int pol and sp

What is the purpose of this "feature"? Are we really pandering to autists that can't even tell their own posts apart?
Not to mention it's brought in the worst type of attentionwhoring cancer that do nothing but derail the thread.
Remove (You).

better 1 /lat/ thread than 4-5 simpsons OPs
>>563756
False.
i saw something funny on the bans page
the person posting loli gets off with a warning while the person posting normal porn gets a 3 day ban
isn't that funny
>>563620
3d is degenerate
>normal porn
laughing2dlolis.png
>>563620
The text is the same in both posts. Its obviously the same user shitposting. Warn was for posting loli on a blue board, then comes the ban hammer for trying the same post but with different content. This is about as good an example of fair moderation as you're going to see on a Flemish cephalopod wiki such as this. You were warned, now your b&. Deal with it faggot.
> TL;DR, OP is a faggot.
