The word filters have almost cleared out Twitter language shit from the board. Most people have given up on trying to get around it for right now, but it needs to stay up as long as possible. This seems to me like the word filter is one of the few successful methods of quashing shitposts on /v/ right now. Regardless of if any board splits are created or not, I think this filter needs to be implemented.
If /v/ can’t stop shitposting, then just make it harder to shitpost by adding even more word filters. Several shitposters will cry about their fun being ruined. Many even think word filters are “censorship”. Some will leave and some will stop shitposting. This also has the benefit of not requiring mod attention to get rid of common terrible posts.
More can always be added, but I think something like the following would work well right now:
Word filter the following buzzwords:
Meme, weeb, weeaboo, (to catch those trying to use it after weeb doesn’t work) cancer, BTFO, shill, SJW, autis, (to catch both autism and autistic)
Make the following auto-warn and unpostable:
HE, Bane?, Sheev, (anything from /tv/, really)
Make the following auto-ban and unpostable:
Wife’s son, wife’s boyfriend, blacked, (shit like those)
I also think /v/ needs to get to the point where Pepe and other useless images like him can’t be posted, but that’s more difficult and adding more words to the filter is a start.

I don't know how the mods operate but I think they should meet once a week and identify harmful trends/memes/buzzwords and agree on whether or not to filter them.
I can bet 70% of the people who post in shonenshit threads like Naruto or DBZ are filthy spics. They're the most obsessed about this stuff. Instead of outright banning discussion about certain anime or manga, you can circumvent that by blocking all the beaner IPs on /a/.

Over the last few years they have done nothing but try to run this site as their own secret clubhouse. The moderation of this site consistently views their relationship with the users as an antagonistic one, and the users respond in kind.

Baiting on /v/ has become the primary reason /v/ exists. What's sad is that perfectly normal topics are being infiltrated by shitposters and samefags at an alarming rate.
This is a trend that's a long time in the making, but this is also something that is quickly approaching critical mass. No thread on /v/ is safe anymore from the tide of samefags. It really only takes one or two to lock down a whole thread, now. The only threads which reach autosage anymore are ones with inflammatory shitposts are the OP image.

What's funny is the shitposting is rarely about video games.
The shitposting comes entirely from a base of people that know posting certain topics in threads completely de-rails them.
SJW shit is the biggest one. Most game threads now proceed well for about fifty posts before "PROBLEMATIC, RACIST, SHITLORDS" starts popping up, and proceeds this way for 600 posts until nothing about the original thread is intact anymore.

People are wary of thread ID's because to them it ruins the culture of 4chan, namely being truly anonymous. Another major problem is that people can use their phone to post on here as well.
We need a split if you ask me, along with banning posting from a phone AND implementing some sort of ID system
