Question about avatarfagging. I think either the rule needs clarification, or mods need to be less liberal with it.

If somebody is making on topic quality posts and using various pictures that fit the 'mood' of the post like any other reaction image, should it really matter if the pictures are of the same character?

There is a poster in a general I visit that actually makes good posts. They're never inflammatory, always on topic, etc. Perfectly reasonable posts by ANY stretch of the imagination. But they keep getting deleted because they have an anime picture of the same character. Even though the picture always matches the post contents in some way.

I think the rules should either be changed to clarify what constitutes an avatar, or jannies should be instructed as to what constitutes an avatar.

What does it really matter if the posts are good?

Am I an avatarfag now? Or am I just using an image to visually represent the theme of my post, on an image board.

On what boards is avatarfagging an issue? I honestly only vaguely understand the concept and it never seems to come up on my home board. Do you just mean posting reaction images?

It's a general on /vg/, some anon is posting with reaction images of the same character. Though there's no way to really know if he's doing it for every post.

And nearly every post he makes gets deleted no matter how much it contributes to the discussion. It's mostly just getting on my nerves trying to navigate a conversation and having all these posts just missing.

/vg/ is ripe with tripfags and namefags who just shitpost and off-topic for attention. But they never get targeted.

Yet an anon making decent posts with multiple reaction images of the same anime character is getting hammered 24/7.

To my understanding, using an avatar on 4chan is when a poster uses the same image every post as a means of identification. Regardless of the contents of the post. The rules don't state that you can't post the same character multiple times, or how many times before it's considered avatarfagging.

It seems like the definition of the rule is either misrepresented in the rules page, or misunderstood by the janitors/general userbase.

Why do fembot feels threads on /r9k/ keep getting deleted?

Even when people are having legit discussion, around 50 or 100 posts in the thread will be deleted.

1. Remove /r9k/ from the board list.
2. Mark cross-board links to or from /r9k/ as dead.
3. Make posting on /r9k/ block you from posting anywhere else.

Bring back VISIBLE SAGE

Well, with the convincing argument you put forth, how could they not?

I wish they would do this. Visible sage might actually make more people aware that the option to post without bumping actually exists.

>But downvote
People can "downvote" a thread just by calling OP a faggot, or trying to derail the thread into something else. What difference does it make?

Why does /a/ love Generals so much? I don't mean /a/ as a whole, but the people hanging out in Yuru Yuri, Madoka, Eva or One Piece Generals (just to name a few examples). Mods have tried several times to get rid of them but they always failed miserably.

If you like to dump pictures why not move to /c/? If you want to chat why not move to Rizon? What's the point of constantly bumping dead threads from pages 9 or 10?

I'm genuinely curious, I've been on /a/ since 2007 and I never understood the appeal of having open threads about the same anime/manga 24/7.

It's a ridiculously fast board so consolidating discussion for specific shows makes it a lot more manageable.
>>
>>359563
>It's a ridiculously fast board
No it's not, it's medium at best. You can have threads that last an entire 24 hours without necrobumping

>consolidating discussion for specific shows makes it a lot more manageable.
Eternal generals aren't consolidating discussion, they are cancer
>>
The only time a show has a general is if it's currently airing or the fanbase is so shitty they have to hugbox to survive on /a/

I don't think I could have been more wrong.

Hiro showing up made the mods and jannies more lax since they didnt know what to expect from him and I liked it since it allowed offtopic /sp/. My post was the one that got hiro to move /wwe/ to /asp/ and holy shit I thought this place could never be better.

although now I feel like the mods are being too lax and I think I was being incredibly naive. I think the rules I wanted are okay but I was so wrong about who the userbase of 4chan is now. it seems like everyone posts from a cellphone now and nobody respects creating content or actually contributing anything.

every post I see is

Apparently he wants more/different mods on board and the process will be slow. This is just what I heard, maybe someone has actual proof.

Personally I never cared for dictating posting styles or maturity or things like that. All I ever cared about is what type of people I'm posting with.

I still might get upset at something but only because I think it tells me they're a type of person that I really wish didn't exist on 4chan. As long as the people are alright, then they can do whatever they want as far as I'm concerned and I'd be alright with it.

I think this is the subconscious driving force behind most fights on 4chan, but nobody ever wants to admit it, and I'm sure the replies I get will tell you why ("baby doesn't want to be exposed to different types of people?"), so everyone just makes up shit about "posting style" and attacks the post based on arbitrary shit instead of the person, when it's really the person that pisses them off, not the text.

So that being said, it really just can't be helped. Everyone has a different opinion on what type of people they want to post with, and even if by some miracle we could come to a consensus, how could you possibly enforce something like that anyway?

I'm going to preface this by saying that I'm not an /asp/ie nor do I watch wrestling but I have been to the board a few times in the past and I've been now. I think it's important to speak about the issue going on here.

/asp/ was a smaller board, it has some big generals (one of which used to be /wwe/) and a lot of interesting niche communities and conversations.

Wrestling is a very large and very vocal fanbase so much so that they were able to annoy one of the largest boards /sp/ by moving them from /sp/ to /asp/ you've not only killed a lot of the more niche communities and conversation on the board but you've also given wrestling it's own pseudo board, I mean go look at the catalog yourself it's at minimum 50% wrestling. The worst part is that /asp/ is too small of a community to effectively speak up for itself and essentially you've ruined a whole board just to appease /sp/ because they're louder.

It isn't fair to /asp/ and I'm relatively sure wrestle fags don't care where they go as long as they have somewhere to post. If you have any counter points or anything I've said is incorrect (it may be, like I said I'm hardly an expert) then please let me know, but if not I implore you to help /asp/ by voicing your support to get wrestlefags removed to their own board, wrestlefags please don't trample over a smaller board just because you can, you should also be vocal about wanting your own board and finally /asp/ies don't take this lying down, don't think we can't salvage your board.

We never wanted to be on /asp/. We had been on /sp/ since the beginning and we even agreed to play nice and confine ourselves to one general after they became the only acceptable threads on the board. But that wasn't good enough for a vocal minority of whiny autists and Hiro let them have their way because he knew nothing about the situation and they sperged out the loudest in his sticky. Now we can never go back because we'll just be shitposted to oblivion.

We asked Hiro to give us our own board, he told us we had to stay on /asp/ because we weren't big enough but that we could post to our hearts' desires. So that's what we're doing.

I would be more then happy to post in our own board if we had one but until then, we're just gonna have to shit up /asp/ until Hiro recognizes that there's a big enough demand.
>>
>>357638
Yeah /asp/ and /wwe/ needs to be separated. I think /wwe/ needs its own board since they can't really assimilate into any other board really well.
>>
I don't understand why multiple threads on a TV drama is allowed on a sports board

Is it just me or is this board proving that lolicon and people who generally get off on cartoon sex are the most degenerate fuckheads on this entire site? No other group is going to these lengths to shit up /qa/ in a desperate attempt to annoy Hiro into folding to their will.

I hope you never get a loli board and I hope /d/ never gets merged or whatever you dumbasses are begging for. Goodnight.

Why do I always see stupid /v/ bans on the /bans page?

These are worth a warning at the very MOST.
27 posts and 5 images submitted.
>>
>implying
/v/ needs more bans and it needs longer bans. They have too many shitposters as a board and the fact that /v/ is constantly filling up the bans page while being one of the worst boards proves that fact.

By the way, /v/ does also get a great deal of warnings.
>>
>>358889
The truly dedicated shitposters will just reset their router. Bans don't solve any problems, the board needs more moderation to compensate for its higher traffic.
>>
>>358889
>the fact that /v/ is constantly filling up the bans page while being one of the worst boards proves that fact.

If its filling up with worthless inoffensive bans then that means nothing.
