Dear Jackie 4chan,

/tv/ is in dire need of sound-enabled webm's.

This is my example. A beautiful simpsons thread, where contributors are sharing wonderful webm's of their favourite simpsons clips.
>>>/tv/62691502

The problem? We have no audio.

I understand there are server limitations, but if /wsg/ and /gif/ can have sound then surely adding it to /tv/ would be simple enough.

I'm open to suggestions on why this wouldn't work.

Yeah definitely agree there are some boards that should have webm's with sound and /tv/ is one of them.
>>
>>341852
Yep.
/tv/ seriously needs it, i mean it's a Television and film board and we can't have audio, soundtracks and scores are very important in the media and we don't have access to that, it's an absurd
>>
/tv/ should really have audio .webm's

Alright autismos, I see the downfall of flags, but what's your gripe with IDs?Are they really that bad? Have you been to /biz/?
I'm not suggesting they be a site wide thing either, I'm just saying they aren't as bad as flags

Does anyone else think that all boards should have flags?

It would make the site immeasurably better. Being able to quickly identify nationalities improves any conversation. With flags, for example, you can instantaneously disregard all American posts without wasting your time getting involved in circuitous, pointless arguments with people who have the intelligence of 5-year-olds

Hey Hiro, congrats on finally making the essential move of sending wrestling to /asp/ where it belongs. But surely there is still more work to be done, so why stop there?

Various video game generals litter /sp/ and drive actual sports content off the front of /sp/ regularly. This is particularly egregious considering we already have a board for video game generals, so it's not like you have to rename a board (as you have earlier today) to do the right thing.

/trb/ threads belong in >>>/vg/ - they are video game general threads

/fifa/ threads belong in >>>/vg/ - they are video game general threads

These are not sports threads and do not belong in /sp/, much like wrestling.

/bet/ is another case of a thread that doesn't strictly belong in /sp/ as it isn't 100% sports related, but only tangentially related to some sports happenings. However, this isn't as clear cut as the video game threads above, and I can see how people could argue that it belongs in /sp/, /asp/ or other boards. Still, it's place in /sp/ needs to be considered.

Hiro, you have started a much needed clean-up of /sp/ that the community has cried out for, but don't half-ass it; do the right thing and put non-sports threads where they belong

/bet/ could go to >>>/biz/ technically
>>
>>341520
/biz/ is the perfect board for /bet/. It's essentially a "help me make money through minimal effort" board, and that's what /bet/ting is all about. Because it's betting on sports rather than stocks is inconsequential.

Here is my suggestion for a new board to help improve /b/:
Add a new board that serves as a subsidiary to /b/, /bi/ - Random/Images. The idea would be that this board would share a userbase and culture with /b/ and serve as a place for image dump threads to be posted (YLYL, Best of 4chan, Porn Dumps, loli threads, fur threads, etc.) so that they don't clutter /b/. The usage of this board would NOT be compulsory and the rules of /b/ would not be changed, instead it would serve as an optional board for /b/tards who frequent such threads to use, with benefits for /b/tards:
>discussion threads would not be swamped by imagedumps
>it would slow /b/, allowing for real discussion
>it would allow for more total /b/ threads, without actually expanding the board
To make it useful for imagedumpers the board would have the following unique characteristics:
>all posts must contain an image (not a rule, but a compulsory feature)
>thus imagedumps would not be filled with unneeded talk, without image contribution
>thus threads last longer
>increase imagecap and possibly bump limit so the same threads do not need posting as often

With the addition of /bi/, I believe /b/ would be greatly improved for everyone, both imagedumpers and otherwise. Thoughts?

>The usage of this board would NOT be compulsory and the rules of /b/ would not be changed
It just sounds dead in the water to me, I don't know why they'd create a second board just to duplicate material from another. Also since the imagedumps, ylyl, trap threads etc are so common on /b/ I can't imagine they'd want to leave just because other threads (like.... the occasional raid I guess?) don't want them around as clutter.

This shit is the reason I never enjoyed /d/.

It's just one goddamn fetish, and one I don't particularly care about. A particularly tame and boring one to boot.

Yet well over half of all threads are dedicated to the same old boring goddamn fetish I don't give a slightest of fucks about.

It's funny, it's light, it spreads happiness and it is generally comfy. If you want to watch mature anime for mature individuals like yourself, I've heard great things about the intellectual artistry of Boku no Pico.

Umaru-chan, of course, isn't funny, doesn't spread happiness and isn't comfy, so maybe you're just butthurt because you watched something that was shit.

You do realise by making /trash/, you've successfully made a /fur/ board because all of the furries from /b/ seemed to migrate to this board, along with the cloppers from /mlp/.

As long as it doesn't appear in the board list, I say great. Containment boards are good ideas.

Why can't other boards be as great as /a/?

>Threads have their topic clearly stated in the subject line
>Off-topic threads are reported and deleted
>Nobody goes into threads for shows they don't like just for the sake of starting shit
>A thread for literally every currently airing show you could imagine
>People who are always willing to discuss older shows if they are brought up
>Never a million threads on the same topic
>A focus on the individual works themselves, or topics directly relevant to anime and manga
>People actually use sage properly
>Unwritten rule against recommendation threads to keep the standard of content high

Go look at /a/'s catalog and compare it to any other board. The difference is like night and day. It's like the difference between a person who keeps a tidy home and a person who lives in filth.

Why don't other board communities have as much respect for their content?

I agree with all these points but you are clearly falseflagging, a main /a/ stable is not bringing attention to /a/ if it isn't necessary, new people are the source if all evil.

/qa/ seems to have a pretty reasonable response to things.

Tell me, what are your thoughts on /r9k/?

>>
Failed experiment that should have stayed deleted.

/r9k/ is the worst board on this website. Hands down. While 1 could argue that /pol/ or /s4s/ could be, at least /pol/ can have a decent opinion every 100 anons while /s4s/ is shitposting found specifically on boardslike /qa/, /b/, /pol/, and once or twice on a few others.

Like /mlp, /r9k/ is a containment board except there (unfortunately) hasn't been a ban on frog pictures. Inside this containment board you'll find what are essentially male feminists and SJWs.

Seriously. /r9k/ and SJWs are 2 sides of the exact same shit coin.

SJWs claim we live in a patriarchal, misogynistic society
/r9k/ claims we live in a world dominated by "Chads" and leans more towards women

SJWs claim women are being oppressed
/r9k/ claims "nice guys" are being oppressed

SJWs ignore facts and will label you as "privileged" or "cis" if you disagree with them
/r9k/ ignores fact will label you as a "kek-oo" or "normie"

Both have had little experience with the opposite sex, except a few bad encounters, and they decide everyone of that particular gender is shit.

The sad (ad enraging) thing about /r9k/ is that they aren't just some poor forever alone fag; they're a forever alone fag that takes pride in their shitty sub-culture. They take pride in posting hundreds of frogs every day. They take pride in making threads around their stupid buzzwords like "Chad", "normie", "roastie", "wage kek-oo", and so on. They take pride in their God-awful PooPooPeePee comics. They take pride in being some edgy wanker

Yet these same edgelords will go on posting about how women are sloots, how they can't get a gf, and so on.

And worst of all is how they have practically infected all major boards with their stupid shit ideology. Pony-fags know they don't belong. Frog-fags go out of there way to scream and REEE as loud as they can, regardless of whether or not they are right (or making any sense).

/r9k/ combines the shitty life philosophy of /pol/ and the obnoxious and toxic posting of /s4s/
>>
Can't speak for pre-deletion /r9k/, but post-deletion it was always fucking awful.
From a board filled with nothing by self-pitying blogposters who are unable to communicate using anything other than >maymay arrows, it somehow exploded into being reddit's favorite board around early this year. I know there's a lot of mccarthyism around reddit these days, but going on /r9k/ now genuinely feels like going into "the reddit board". It's awful. It's just fucking awful.
