/pol/ has been completely co-opted by the Anglo Internet Defence Force. Every other post is a /b/tier shitpost, a facebook meme, or someone sperging out about >1 post by this ID. It's like another /pol/ harbor. The only way to solve this is to delete the board.

Can the mods please do something about the people spamming this shit?
What constitutes a slide thread anyway?

anything that interferes with the tireless astroturfing of Trump campaign staffers

At least the trump shills are usually content with shitting up their general and few choice threads.
/pol/ is a wasteland of one line copy-paste posts and bot threads at the moment.
Which boards can never be fixed, even if Hiroyuki-senpai and the mods wanted to? And why is that?

/pol/ doesn't believe in the shit they say. it's just fun to hivemind about retarded shit and have that shit spill out onto places like reddit.
no one on /pol/ is actually racist or supports donald trump. it's just fun to spread that propaganda and see the retards on /r/donald_trump supporting it.
Since when are nude images allowed on /jp/? Please make a sticky announcing it or delete this apparently rule breaking image.

Okay /his/ was a fun experiment but can we get rid of it now?
As long as there's almost no moderation I don't see any reason to keep it in its current state
>>562597
>can we
There is no "we" here. If you have to ask this way then the answer is always no "We" can't. On top of that, just because you are too obtuse to see a reason why it should be kept around doesn't mean there aren't any reasons why it should be kept around. There are very few valid reasons to delete any board.
/his/ is one of the more stringently moderated boards I received a three day ban for using the word nigger ironically

What is the purpose of this "feature"? Are we really pandering to autists that can't even tell their own posts apart?
Not to mention it's brought in the worst type of attentionwhoring cancer that do nothing but derail the thread.

take my (You)s I'll take your life
Every day I'm complainin'
>Are we really pandering to autists that can't even tell their own posts apart?
If this was years ago I'd have agreed with that. The site has however grown and with more people comes more posts, which means that threads move and 404 faster than before. This has several implications so I think a clear indicator that you've been replied to does have a practical merit. That it has become a meme is only natural since almost everyone sees it.
>Not to mention it's brought in the worst type of attentionwhoring cancer that do nothing but derail the thread.
I think some people have always attention-whored for replies, now they've merely changed their vocabulary. I suppose I can imagine that (You) appeals to people who are used to social media since it gives them a kind of selfname among anonymousness, which make them slant towards making more inciting replies. But that's just simple conjecture and there's no way to tell how imapctful it actually is.
>>561875
Lol!
Let me preface this by saying the mods are actually doing a pretty good job killing non political threads on /pol/, especially since /pol/ is one of the most populous boards on 4chan and the most commonly targeted for raids (see pic.)
My problem is not with the moderation at all, but I do think the rules on /pol/ need to be amended. The influx of shitty threads is quite obviously out of control right now, and it's always the same thing: an OP that posts an inflammatory picture and one line of "dialogue" (/pol/ BTFO, really makes you think, ect.) and generally the OP makes no other posts in his own thread.
If the OP doesn't even respond to his own thread, he's obviously not there for discussion or conversation. I get that adding rules to a board is a fine line especially since /pol/ is majorly about free speech, but these threads are so formulaic and common that I think nothing of value would be lost if these types of threads have some rule that could be applied to them, such as punishment for posting an OP with absolutely no constructive input of their own. If they do this, they're obviously trying to slide good threads or just generally piss people off.
I think the quality of /pol/ will improve once the American elections are over because people won't have any reason to raid the board, but in the meantime something definitely needs to be done because the raiding going on is very real.
Hope somebody considers this because I love /pol/ but it has become nearly completely unusable in recent weeks.
Miscegenation Shilling
-----
These posters often create bait threads in which they create a single op with the sole topic being about some form of miscegenation. These could be shock images of Black men with White women, or other types of threads where it is a picture of a non-white Woman with the OP asking if that woman is hot.

-----
Trump General Shilling
Generally, the main Trump general shills are those who try to D&C the common posters in the thread. They tend to attack NAZI posters for being 1488ers, and AWOO/Anime posters for being r9k weebs. These types of posts serve no real purpose. Sometimes they are purely defeatists.
https://sli.mg/a/lNCRpN
-----
General Leftist Baitposting/Sliding
These are low-effort non-miscegenation posts that generally involve some image macro and a very low-effort comment. Examples include "Really makes you think..","pol BTFO","pol will defend this", "conservashits (With Occupy Democrats Image)". Sometimes these threads have no purpose but to slide more useful threads.

Dedicated Shilling
These are posters who constantly everyday on the clock post about a specific topic that goes contrary to most of pol. In the album linked you will see a very dedicated Canadian leafposter that for 3-4 months would argue how Obama did such a great job creating 14 million jobs. Any actual good arguments against Obama's capability as a president he would ignore, however, he would destroy posters who were not good at debating. The best way to defeat these guys is simply to ridicule them with memes, because you will never convince them they are wrong. They are very likely paid shills.

Bump threads like the ones above to garnish attention, and hopefully something will be done about it.
Sliding episodes on /pol/'s catalog is nothing new. This is a problem that's happened on numerous occasions, most notably the recent Russia IP Range ban/unban and the Orlando massacre threads, which have attracted VERY unwanted attention. Use /pol/'s archive (http://archive.4plebs.org/pol/) and learn how to identify bait threads designed to ruin our board!
>highlight and copy Unique ID
>ctrl+f ; paste Unique ID in the search bar.
>If there's only one or two posts by that ID in the entire thread, chances are they're a shillbot.
>proceed to report, sage, and hide the thread.
>look for buzzwords, "hmm really makes you think", "how can X compete", "/pol/ BTFO", etc.
ONLY TOGETHER CAN WE BRING ATTENTION TO THIS EPIDEMIC!

bump, the shilling is out of control
Can we ban screencaps of tweets?
Discussion on many boards, especially /v/ and /pol/, is being ruined whenever someone posts some offhanded comment from literally who in a thread and everyone feels they have to chip in with their two cents. If someone posts an off-topic tweet in a thread you can be pretty confident that the thread is going to derail into total dogshit. Even if the tweet in question is on-topic it's usually such a retarded stance on the topic that people in the thread only ever end up criticising dumbasses and attacking strawmen rather than actually discussing the issue at hand. It's lowering the quality of dialogue on the site. People start threads with this kind of shit as bait, or use it to flame, or to exaggerate the position of someone they're arguing and throw them in with some greater "them".
The worst part about twitter is that it doesn't fucking matter. Stop posting this fucktarded, irrelevant, inflammatory shit here. And if you see someone post this crap, don't respond. If you want to reply to this shit, GTFO and stay on twitter with the retards who care.
Consider not going to /pol/ or /v/.
>>561833
They're part of 4chan so it matters. I don't go there all that often but it's going to start affecting other boards soon because that's how this shit happens. I see this shit on /int/, /g/, and even occasionally on /a/ already.
>>561836
>it's going to start affecting other boards soon
Well, if we're looking at time as a spectrum, and not a straight line... and "soon" means "close proximity." Then yes, it has fucked other boards.
