Acting with a political agenda is very annoying, whether it's stormfront or the opposite.
However I think that most of the time when people call something /pol/ the poster doesn't have any political agenda in mind, just posts it because it's funny or for some other similar reason. Just keep politics discussion in /pol/, that's it.

I think the implication is that the game/show/anime/character/this/that didn't get popular on its own merits but because everyone else liked it, and it's popularity came from being viral rather than being good. That's said, it's exclusively used to complain about how people like things that whoever used it does not personally approve of.
