Are gets the oldest meme that originated on 4chan?

I'm fairly certain it's either longcat or desu. Gets came quite a bit later.

Post the weirdest shit you can find on 4chan. I'll start: MLP pregnancy General.

/d/ has those too, as fetishes go it's not that weird, it's just when you get into the hyper stuff
>>
>>414692
That's the problem with this thread is that what is weird on one board wouldn't necessarily be weird on another.

OP didn't think these things through well enough before he posted.
>>
>>414694

Okay, hypothetically speaking, let's say you found out your IRL friend jerks off to pregnant cartoon horses. How do you react? Obviously, it's a bit strange. That is how I separate normal from weird on 4chan.

Hey, why'd the reddit poster get deleted? Are the mods finally cracking down on that shitposting?

There were six (6) theatre threads in /tv/ last night.
I think that's a good indication that we should have a /th/ board, am I right?

Hi /qa/. I hope you are having a nice day.

Should I advertise for >>>/news/ in the comment sections of a-list newspapers where serious news people lurk? Don't worry, I haven't, yet. I'm wondering what you think.

Do you think /news/ would benefit from an increase in user traffic?
>>
>>413708
Yes, as it is now people can only post 5 news stories at a time, and it takes 2 or 3 weeks for them to fall off page 10.

With increased traffic /news/ would be a little more current, and the back pages wouldn't be filled up with 2 week old news stories.

You know there are a lot of posts complaining about janitors/mods. Lets keep it simple. Post your unjust bans ITT.

The lack of transparency when it comes to bans is disgusting. 4chan does have a "ban page" that they make it seems like everything is by the books but we all know its just there to make it seem like the mods and jans are fair and doing their job.

Why are all drawthreads utter shit? What one can expect in an average draw thread is the following:
>countless requests and not enough artists
>when a request is made the post is given like 10 replies choking up the bump limit just to felliate in hope that their request will be made
>mass disagreement on the purpose of a drawthread as some want nothing but requests being made and others just want to circlejerk
>too many people will enter into a petty argument and 4chan being stupid will inevitably waste bump limit by replying to the said petty argument
>flat out frequent failure to make most requests on the artists part but then again 4chan is fucking bi-polar in that they both want to suck off an artist and also make them their personal slave
>massive entitlement to pictures of anime girls with huge titties being made for them
How would you fix drawthreads if given the power /qa/?

Are you from >>>/ic/ ?
>>
>>414223
You can't, aside from getting rid of them entirely. It's simply the nature of the world that there are more consumers of art than there are artists, and that making a non-shitty piece of art takes time. There will always be more requests than can ever be filled.

I think the solution for 4chan is to not add more boards, but to remove the useless ones.

For example, /news/ is barely used and everything that happens there can be done on /pol/. So keeping /news/ is pointless.

Any other boards that should be removed?

There must be a board where you can discuss 4chan as a site.

I would like to report the person posting sexualized child models, but I am unable to. This captcha refuses even correct results. Switching to legacy captcha does not work.

Please fix this so that users have an easier time of reporting illegal content. tia

Why did Hiro actually buy 4chan? From what I know it's been for ages a financially sinking ship and I don't see an easy way to turn this place to profit and even if Hiro likes/enjoys the site/community/running it, I'd find it unrealistic for him to get aboard a project that's destined to doom/fail eventually, unless he has some kind of plan/agenda already.

Thread Theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kP62vh2PFAQ

Greetings, /qa/! As /qa/ has become the de facto "META" discussion board for 4chan, so let's have a meta discussion. In this thread I will outline some stereotypes and heuristics that I have acquired over my time spent on this website, listening, parsing, processing, and comparing the different ideas and thoughts on this website.

What this thread is: A discussion of how to discuss and think effectively on this website and other websites.

What this thread is not: A place to discuss any political leanings or opinions except for the nature of discourse and discussion. You may use examples, but you should not, reveal your own personal bias or opinion on the subject, lest this thread become like every other thread on /qa/ and the rest of 4chan at large.

If you find it difficult to avoid revealing your opinion, I invited you to please consider throwing up some sort of smoke screen like offering a countering opinion alongside it.

---

With all of that out of the way, let's discuss the concept of arguing. Why do we argue? Personally, I argue because I want to attempt to arrive at the correct answer, be it my initial perspective, my opponent's, or some >"golden mean fallacy" answer between them. Others argue because they want to prove themselves and convince their opponent that their view is correct. This is not an invalid reason to argue. While it is egocentric to assume you are correct and your opponent is incorrect, it is not inherently immoral to be egocentric. If you have another reason to argue, please say it. I would love to learn more, just as much as I would like to teach.

As an exercise, please complete the form below.

>What is my goal when arguing?
___
>Have I been effective in the past at achieving this goal?
___
>Which aspects of my patterns and habits have been effective at achieving my goal?
___
>Which aspects of my patterns and habits have been ineffective at achieving my goal?

>What is my goal when arguing?
Understanding other people's opinions. I rarely change my opinion on most things (although there have been exceptions) but I like to at least understand where the opponent is coming from. My goal is also to make the opponent understand the same, although I sometimes try to convince him of my stance when I truly believe he's completely wrong.
>Have I been effective in the past at achieving this goal?
Depends on effective on what. If we're talking about reaching a mutual understanding, then yes. If we're talking about convincing the opponent, I'd say rarely although I've been getting better at it.
>Which aspects of my patterns and habits have been effective at achieving my goal?
Asking the opponent and making him question himself, and provide me with well thought answers. Some people call this the "Socratic method" I guess, I've noticed it works very well. When you act confrontational the arguments quickly gets emotional.
>Which aspects of my patterns and habits have been ineffective at achieving my goal?
Acting like an asshole. As I said above when you act confrontational the opponent feels attacked and the argument turns emotional and it turns into a fight over who wins rather than who's correct.

How did /r9k/ become what it is today?
How did a merely technical gimmick spawn the culture that is associated with /r9k/ (i.e "misogynistic virgins blablabla...")
10 posts and 1 images submitted.

Stay a while and listen as I share the tale of /r9k/'s demise with you.

Initially /r9k/ flourished in an era of fresh OC and greentext, which quickly became its primary use, that and tripfag circlejerks.
Then, one fateful day, some anon posted a "feel" thread. It was a very innocent little thread, about things that made you feel different ways. They were positive threads with positive feels, such as ">that feel when walking into a coffee shop and inhaling" or ">that feel when waking up on a cold morning and snuggling in a warm blanket"
It is important to note that this era also marked the decisive transition in the meaning of >tfw (from >their faces when, to >that feel when)
What followed was a rise in >tfw threads which focused on the comfy aspect of feels and continued to slip away from the initial varied >tfw threads into far more specific threads. So you had >comfy feels and >work feels among many many others.
And then it happened. Some tremendous boy-molesting fruit, the absolute fucking lala homo-man, posted ">tfw no gf" and this devolved into the absolute worst circlejerk in which tears were used in place of lube.

tl;dr: Feelfags accidentally the whole /r9k/

A long time ago I made a set of gifs for /r9k/, just after the robot was removed.

The pacing's a little bad. I was literally drawing them as I was posting them, rather than spending a lot of time making them and then posting them all at once.
