I don't know why they do it, but a better question is why they are ALLOWED to do it. A thread like that should be instantly deleted and the poster banned, yet it has made it to 100+ posts and will probably find its way to the archive if we don't report it.
Right now on /co/, threads are being autosaged early, and many people are getting 30 day ban evasions despite having no bans before.
In many cases, it's only happening to cartoons on Nickelodeon, which sounds like some network bias.
But it's also been out of control in the drawthread as well.
Hiro please do something. The mods that work that board need to be told to back down, if not outright fired, I've seen no less than a dozen questionable 30 day bans in the ban list today alone and I know that doesn't cover all of them.

Additionally, the recent slowdown in posting has exacerbated another longstanding issue with /d/: for years now /d/ has had issues with a very persistent spammer who spams futa content. While other users create singular threads for fetishes, this poster creates up to fifty futa threads at a time. Each thread receives one image every one or two days (most of which have nothing to do with the OP) to bump it to the top of the catalog, which continues until the thread reaches the image limit.

Chan4Chan on Iphone is basically just a browser bookmarker. I understand that the mobile site isnt that terrible, but a dedicated app with decent functionality seems almost essential at this point.

First time in a /co/ drawthread? This shit has been happening for years now. The /co/ drawthread is the most moderated drawthread on 4chan and probably the most moderated thread on /co/. Other drawthread you can make NSFW requests but on /co/, you get your request deleted and probably banned as well. I think they even have a list of characters like Panda Delgado that they will delete on sight regardless of request.

I come from /mu/, where posting one anime reaction pic gets you 2-3 "dumb weeaboo go back 2 your containment board"s, at the same time there are like five shitposting threads with Spongebob or Simpsons images (content that has it's "containment board" too) in the OP getting heavy support and taking hours to be deleted.
