Can we get some REAL moderation on /vr/?
It's like we have ONE janitor who doesn't do his job at all
>AVGN gossip thread
>the most blatant and poor bait threads imaginable, as if straight from /v/
>off topic /pol/ posting
>guy posting the same "feminist vidya character" thread for the hundreth time this month (same thumbnail even)
>console war thread
>perfectly good threads being wiped entirely because of derail, instead of deleting the derailing discussion
>legit threads asking legit /vr/ related questions deleted for seemingly no reason
Blatant shitposting threads can stay up for several days, sometimes beyond TWO WEEKS at it's worst, this isn't a fast board, sifting through the report cue a couple times a day, making judgements and taking action is NOT a lot to ask for.
The worst part is that it's actually very fast in some threads, so the impression this gives is some workshy fag defending his pet threads adamantly but otherwise ignoring his job, it would be swell if the guy gave even a fraction of that attention to the rest of the board.
I think I speak for many on /vr/ when I say; for the love of GOD do something. A board this slow shouldn't feel as lawless as /v/
>>366204
Allow 6th gen, and most of the shitposting will stop. I can almost guarantee it.
>>366679
No.
>>366679
It would only increase.
Regarding 6th gen stuff a new board for more recent but not current games would be great. /vr2/ or something. Then again some people seem kind of annoyed about how many new boards we're getting, so eh.
More than anything else though, the best thing for /vr/ would be to enforce global rule 6. Make extremely low quality posting a bannable offense and it'll piss quite a few people off, but the board overall will be much happier as long as mods don't apply it to opinions, just to the method of expressing those opinions (i.e. "I always thought Sonic 3 was overrated" vs "people actually like this shit? lol."
On most boards this would just create a fucking disaster and wouldn't be feasible because shitposting is so ingrained. /vr/ was always a lot more conversational though, and didn't have the same kind of 'board culture' that the rest of 4chan has until the past year or so. It was always there to a certain extent, but nowhere near the extent of the other boards. It's been getting worse, too.
I remember browsing this shithole back in 2010 when it was still somewhat relevant.
What is it like now? No one ever mentions this board anymore, even on 4chan. When the site makes the news, it's always /pol/ and /r9k/ that get the notoriety and occasionally still /v/, but not /b/.
Do these faggots actually do anything interesting anymore? Or are they basically reddit now? Not trolling, genuinely curious to see how this place has changed.

>back in 2010
Looks like we have a true oldfag here guys!
What was it like when this mute guy still owned the site?
>>366154
I'm hardly le oldfag, but still. Five, almost six years is quite a while.
Because /b/ is just r/funny with porn webms.
Will this ever be acknowledged as shitposting and become a bannable offense?

What a clusterfuck. Instead of being a nice little porn board for western /co/ related porn, /aco/ has become a downgraded version of /d/ Which sucks major donkey ass for both parties, forcefully splitting one board in two and simultaneously destroying /co/'s dream of a good fap-board.
Why are mods removing eastern content from /d/? And why is it allowed on /aco/ when the board is supposedly for western art?
I miss /d/ being a convenient one stop shop for porn. Now /d/ moves even slower than /u/ and more posts are being deleted than posted.
Then go to exhentai or sankaku if it bothers you so much. If you use 4chan as a porn source in 2015, you're a pleb.
>>363839
there are arguments against having western in /d/ but this is not one of them.
If this was the case there would literally be no reason for us to have porn boards at all and I say this as someone who doesn't want western in /d/.
>>363830
>mfw
Hiro, why are you still letting the mods treat /d/ as their personal playground?
/d/ content is being removed from both /d/ and /aco/ on the grounds of not fitting either board, even though it was just fine before the mods decided to get pissy.
What is the explanation for this?
>>363807
they're gay
>>363807
Why is it that you think making more /qa/ threads about this when there are already 4 in the catalog is going to do anything about it except piss off the users of /qa/ and rally them against you?
>>364398
Worked for /a/
/mlp/s final episode aired. It'll be another 12 months before their show airs.
I say we lock the board from anyone posting in it until the show airs again.
Optionally link them to 8ch
or let only /co/ and /tg/ post in it while the horsefuckers are locked out of /mlp/ and can only watch co+tg doing a better job in 1 day than their entire shit tastic fanbase couldn't accomplish in 5 years.
>Now that the thing keeping them "sane" is over let's destroy the containment area.
>>363653
Hello, horsefucker. Enjoying the hiatus?
>>363625
This. We should also end GR15.
Should mods start shadowbanning people?
In other words: Ban users without them knowing. Nobody can see what they post and to the user they'll just think that nobody is responding to them. Never tell them they're shadowbanned.
This won't stop everyone but I think it'll slow down the number of people evading bans.
1. No because we're not reddit.
2. No it won't slow down the ban evasion because they'll work it out
I don't think the concept of shadowbanning works as well when it's out in the open. it works better on people who aren't aware it exists.
reddit really blew it up when they started abusing it
>>363451
>please turn this into reddit
Fuck off.
/drug/ board when?
But seriously, why not?
>>363384
GR 1.
>>363390
The Global Rules are outdated. Besides erowid and bluelight exist and they have zero problems. Just make buy threads or asking how to find drugs a bannable offense.

>video games being banned from release due to Social Justice
>cannot talk about it on /v/
Is this what we've come to? You either fall in line with the Social Justice Reich or you get a boot to the face?
Hiro, why don't you let the people who use the boards actually decide what get talked about rather than allowing moot's paid off shill mods to run the show?
/v/ is for discussion about video games. SJWs aren't video games.
>Hiro, why don't you let the people who use the boards actually decide what get talked about rather than allowing moot's paid off shill mods to run the show?
How about we get all of the meta-drama about the industry and shitty tertiary threads off the board? You don't want to talk about video games, you want to talk about gossip, memes and other nonsense.
While SJ nonsense has been negatively impacting most forms of fictional media, that's not what happened with this game. It was a calculated business decision based on that the audience for the game has been shrinking, so they blamed their own decision to not localize the game on SJWs (despite plenty of even more niche releases coming out and being supported by those who buy and support them) and manufactured a controversy out of nothing for more visibility.
And if you're going to imply modern /v/ can come to a consensus on what it wants on the board, you're wrong. It's the most disorganized board on 4chan.
>>362118
The fact that SJW's kept DOA3 from reaching western shores is very much a /v/-related issue, though.
Ad you know, it is a bannable offence to say the "nigger" word on /co/, or disapprove of transexuals or homosexual lifestyles. This is important because much of /co/'s related media is being filled with things that relate to social justice topics, particularly Marvel Comics and Third Wave feminism cartoons like Steven Universe.
While I'm fine with opposing viewpoints, what I'm not fine with the Mods taking a side and protecting "progressivism" from dissent.
Hiro, you need to realize that this tactic of weaseling their way into positions of power is just one of many dirty methods American SJWs use to manipulate society.
There is literally nothing wrong with being an SJW.
>>361647
Prove it.
People have been saying this about /co/ for ages
It's not really without reason but that doesn't mean you don't find decent discussion on the board.
Where's the Black Friday sale for 4chan Passes Choot. moot did them every year.
He probably isn't even aware of the 4chan Pass.
This, been waiting to renew.
>>361445
Hiro is dead or held captive by the cops.
Why is the no-anthro part of global rule 3 a thing?
All it does is ban on-topic, SFW anthromorphic.
Take /v/ for example. Posting sparkledog OC crap? /v/ rule 1. Posting furry porn? GR5. Trying to furry roleplay? GR6. Doing anything else not related to video games? Also /v/ rule 1. So what's left? SFW on-topic video games.
All GR3 deletes is perfectly fine threads like https://boards.fireden.net/v/thread/317859915/. Thanks for having a rule that bans video games.
The mods aren't retarded and can see through your shitty little attempted furry porn dump thread.
>>359974
Yeah you can tell by all the porn.
Oh wait.
>>359974
Anon, I hate to tell you this, but the Minority Report is just a movie. Future crime prediction is not an actual thing. Idiot.
Hiro, please address the issues with /d/. The board has been slowed to a dead stop by the removal of the majority of the poster base upon the creation of /aco/.
When /aco/ was made, the majority of /d/'s content was deleted. Not just western art, but art the mods claimed in their ban messages as being from "western fetishes." Original content producers were banned en masse, leaving the board a husk.
Meanwhile, /aco/ is housing a number of posters who prefer non-fetish art, as well as those who prefer more extreme fetishes. The reason /d/ was created was because these fetishes were unwelcome on /h/ years ago.
Now all fetishes have been essentially banned except those popular enough to sustain generals on /aco/ due to refugees from many boards being forced to share it, while /d/ sits by unused.
>>358120
Fuck off, you dumb redditfrogposter
>>358126
no
>>358120
>memes
>allow western fetish art on /d/ again
>remove the rule banning western art and fanart
>post a sticky on /d/ reiterating the new rule changes
It's good that you're making changes Hiro but you need to follow up and and fix the problems that arise from them
I think it's fine
>if I keep making threads they will surely change it!
>>357516
Explain
Posting from your ISP, IP range, or country has been blocked due to abuse.
Why am I seeing this message every time I try to post on other boards?
dumb animeposter
At least one of your neighbours has misbehaved.
>>351063
You too huh. I got caught in one last night tgat prevented me from making threads. So I sent a feedback describing the mistake and now I can't even make regular posts anywhere other than here. Fucking mods.
