To any who are not aware, /a/ has a daily Japanese thread for purposes of learning the language. Over the past few years it and its collection of materials have emerged as one of the most eminent resources for Japanese self-learning on the web. However, there is currently no generally-accepted paid product that many of DJT users use. It's easy to see see how this could be viewed as an untapped market for advertisers, and that's exactly what has happened.
Over the past several weeks, a program for Japanese learning with a monthly service fee, Wanikani, (logo pictured) has begun to be advertised on DJT. This peaked with Wanikani having a New Years' sale which was heavily advertised in the thread. Since that time, the advertising has continued daily - although most veterans of the thread are beyond the point where the program would be useful, many new users may be convinced to give the program a shot. However effective Wanikani's methods are is not what is concerning. What is concerning is that blatant advertising in violation of Global Rule 11 has repeatedly been met with little disciplinary action from moderation. I assume this is because DJT does not have a dedicated janitor/mod, which is understandable. But similar cases of advertising on /a/ (Crunchyroll, the Daiz Fakku scandal, etc.) have been put down swiftly. The advertising by Wanikani, too, should be dealt with if the current rules are to be enforced. Thank you for your time, should any staff read this.

These threads are about some touhou game that uses pokemon-esque gameplay features but it is not pokemon. Touhou belongs on /jp/ and touhou games belong on /vp/ as well. The message being sent allowing this garbage on /vp/ is that any game with pokemon-like gameplay is allowed on /vp/. So any game with remotely similar game mechanics, whether Pokemon or not, would thus be allowed on /vp/.
If that is indeed the case, then rename /vp/ and be done with it. Otherwise, remove the touhou from /vp/ and send it to where it belongs. There are enough shitposters and angry neckbeards on /vp/ that trying to save our board is a monumental task, but it can do without the touhou garbage.
A mods response would be greatly appreciated considering the absolute silence that /vp/ has had of late.

It probably won't be dealt with, and more than likely removed, but at least my thoughts can be read by someone else before that.
We need to create a comedy (YLYL) furry, trap, lolicon, and shotacon board for the sake of /b/. The repetitive daily threads are what have fashioned /b/ into a board of porn, with no culture and completely overrun by individuals with undiagnosed autism who never get tired of coming to the board to masturbate to the same thing every day.
Now I understand that from a moderation perspective, the current /b/ is great because it keeps the board tame unlike what it used to be, and that the fear is that by reestablishing true randomness that moderation would become difficult. But surely it can be observed that the culture of the site as a whole has changed, and the disgusting lightining-speed bile that /b/ once spewed will never reappear.
Other suggestions of ways to help /b/ are welcome below. Thank you for reading.

These kinds of threads already get made on other boards with different subjects enough to justify getting their own board.
