Why is it that transmissions do not need to have their own dedicated cooling system? They get hot too, don't they?
>>13995739
not hot enough to matter, apparently.
It's a different kind of heat.
race cars and some extremely high performance street cars have transmission coolers. they're not usually necessary because no combustion is taking place in the transmission obviously. friction is pretty much the only major source of heat. that and heat transferred from the engine.
Can we get a Mercedes appreciation thread going?
New Mercs are ugly, because some idiot thought that swapping front from commercial van will be a good idea for a luxury brand.
1.sls
2.SPRINTER
3.S-class
4.C-classs
Mercedes are over priced, boring and only bought by entitled pricks. Do a month of work at any dealership and you see that they are the worst value and terribly boring.

Hey /o/,
Has it ever crossed your mind to have an intimate relationship with your car?

>Spilling your seed on your precious car
Absolutely disgusting.
How come Initial D doesn't have a grind pillow? Or do they?
I own a ford fiesta (basic 1.6L one).
Long story short: I shifted to 1st going 40mph like an idiot.
If you have to askwhy, it's because I'm an idiot. I honestly don't know what happened.
The car seems fine, and from what I have read, if the car didn't catch smoke or instantly blew something, then nothing happened. I should just be careful not to do it again.
Am I in the clear /o/? I'll wade through the shitposting and trolling, I just hope one of you can give me a straight (and hopefully positive) answer.
Thanks.
if it didn't toss a rod don't worry
bump.
I just want to either put my mind at ease or act immediately if something needs to be addressed.
for the record. The car runs fine. The clutch and shifter work perfectly. It idles fine and the tranny makes no abnormal noise. Car is as fine as it was before I fucked up.
>>13995509
Thank you.
but would it actually do that? I read that if I was going at highway speeds (60-70). The rev limiter would surpass the redline (~7000) and pop.. so did I narrowly miss snap city?

We're not even 15% of the way through the 21st century. This is like calling a baseball game before the end of the 2nd inning.

Good Ol' Government Motors.
Are 1967-1972 Chebby trucks quite expensive? There's a few for sale in my area and all of them are around 15-20k.
>>13995330
if they are perfectly restored, yes. you can pick up a decent one for like 6k though
>>13995330
Love the 67-72

Kind of a bad poll tho, doesn't have stuff from BMW, Mercedes and Audi
So I want a Mustang.
Without actually owning a Mustang, because I need to cover up my faggotness.
Are the Lincoln Mark Coupes any good? Panthers are an option but I'm striving for 2 door.
If I find a Mercury Capri, should I dump for that? Over the other options?
Are there any fox platforms I should also look out for?
Basically any car with the 2.3 Turbo, 5.0, 4.6, and preferably late 80s and 2 door.
Autotragic won't honestly be an issue, I have Foxbody parts, and 3 tremec T-5s available for a a good price if I ever feel like it.
late 90s mark IX is good, look for an LSC model (the grill is body-colored) which i think had a tuned up mustang engine?
i've heard they fucking eat ignition coils alive though, like you have to change them once a year
got u senpai
but its a concept car
>>13995191
wait whoops, mark 8, not mark 9, usually called the mark VIII
Hey /o/ I'm searching for a new shift knob for my 06 wrx. I'm not so much a fan of the knobs I'd prefer a stick/pole? shaped one I think. Not looking for anything fucking gay like those pink crystal ones or whatever but I'd prefer something either black or gold or aluminum. Heavy weight as well even though I'm new to standard and unsure what the difference is. Budget is around 90 used more or less, thanks. Pic related is the shape I sort of have in mind.
get a cue ball shifter and call it a day op
Chrome knob, check the chrome knob for mitsubishi lancers on ebay looks and feels amazing
>>13994972
I have a Razo shift knob I found at an UpGarage, the box said it was 462g but I can't find it online anywhere and I threw away the box. They do have the RA 66 which is 400g but it has carbon fibre on it. Or if you can find one the RA 120 which has a 375g model.
Great shift knob though, would recommend.
how much would it cost to repaint a mr2
>>13994919
Why dont you call a body/paint shop you lazy fuck.
Do you just want to paint over the existing paint or strip it to bare metal and actually re-paint it?
You can do the first one yourself, the second one will be north of 5k.
>>13995067
probably the first one, its looking a little rough
Need opinions on mazda2. I will be buying this car as a dd/beater, as well as learning manual on it and learning some wrenching/modding/tuning basics. Anyone drive one of these? I heard the handling is a dream and the 100hp isn't so bad because the car only weighs just over 2000 pounds. I'm not really looking for speed anyways.
How much is it? Any reason you wouldn't just get a Fiesta ST or the 1.0Turbo fiesta?
>>13996348
Pretty cheap, I can get one that isn't a mess with barely any km for around $6000. I don't like Ford, even though I believe these do use an engine manufactured by Ford.
>>13997527
I'd recommend taking them both for a test drive at least, the 1.0 SFE Fiesta is supposed to be a hoot. Probably very similar to the 2.
Just my 2 cents though, the fiesta is super easy to work on.
