It's become impossible to discuss video games on /v/ due to the entire board being filled with threads about this meme game. The attempt to make it /vg/ only was a terrible failure, so when will this get its own board?

seconding this, it's not as bad as OP makes it out to be, but undertale is getting spammed a lot and mods don't always do anything.
Threads where the users play games together in the thread. Between pen and paper games to "Your post number indicates what happens to you" to drawhore quest threads, "Let's count to 10" threads from /b/, "Get the guy across the gap," "Hunger Games" threads, and many more.
These threads are fun and people enjoy them and there's rarely if ever any flaming going on in these threads. Problem is, they're off topic everywhere but /b/ and /b/ is 90% porn (also [s4s] and /trash/ I guess, but come on). Giving this subject...

I wouldn't mind ALL OF THE CONSOLES. It isn't like /v/ actually talks about games. And /vr/ is so soulless they only have 2 memes so there might be room for actual discussion.
But yeah bringing in PS2/Gamecube/Xbox/GBA/NGage soon would be neat.

I would like to petition for a new board: /art/. On said board, we could discuss theater, the opera, paintings, sculptures, classic composers and symphonies, new movements in the arts in general. None of these topics really belong on any other boar really, so why not give us a home?
I fucking need this. I don't want to be forced to somewhere else whenever I want to discuss theatre.
This is a great idea. The high-cultural or classical aspect of 4chan needs more of a presence.

I remember going on /x/ a few years back and having an enjoyable time. Now it is probably my least favorite board on the entire site. There is no interesting discussion anymore, just roleplay and mental issues. If you don't believe me, just see for yourself.
How would one go about fixing the board, or would just nuking it be better? I am at a loss.

I think it needs to be revamped for sure, agreed. Half the people who post /x/ material on /pol/ complain that they would post it on /x/ but "/x/ sucks now" or something along those lines.
I think the first thing that would improve board quality would be a rule against ama threads and general rpfags. Those seem to be the chief influx of shit.

Not at all. Synths and keys can pop into bass scales easily because secondary harmonics and low voices. Key amps are pretty much bass amps without a low pass filter to allow dem bright shiny synth noises through, no problems using that config.
