Thoughts on the Mercury Marauder? I personally love it but a lot of people seem to have an unnecessary amount of hatred for it since it's a panther car. Why /o/ why?
>>14144587
Boomer taxed all out of proportion to what you get.
At the same time chrome exhaust tips, chrome wheels and all-black body motif scream ghetto trash
it's a panther car, so it's going to be embroiled in pretend-police-car-hate until the very end. it's also a car that jalopnik loves, because jalopnik is full of normies, and normies love sleepers. especially shitty, factory-stock sleepers. it's also an archetypal boomer car, because muh v8 and muh landbarge and muh ferd.

Pretty sweet car but I'd rather an LX Sport with a used blower for less money.
What is the point of fast trucks?
Off-road oriented ones like the Raptor make sense, but not the Lightning or the SRT-10.

Thinking about doing a motor swap plus some modifications. Any suggestions to help me /o/ut?
Motor suggestions, if I should even swap it, just turbo/procharge/supercharge it instead, etc.
Mainly looking for more power.
It's a 1979 toyota celica. The motor is a 4 inline motor, 2.0 I believe.
Thanks in advance

Too big and heavy to have fun with
>>14144128
What are you talking about its not that big at all?
>>14144156
What do you even expect from it? sounds like you just want a fat dragracer
Is buying a junkyard engine a good idea
I'm pretty broke so I need to buy cheap
I'm thinking of getting a 350 to swap into my firechicken because it has a crap 305
When is buying a v8 ever a bad idea?
It depends what you can find. It's pretty much just as expensive to completely restore and rebuilt a vintage block as it is to buy a crate engine though.
>>14144137
pretty much this.
Try to get some decent heads at least. IIRC (I could be totally wrong) late 90's vortec heads fit on old 350s and flow fairly well, do you're research though.
Hi /o/, lurker here. I already have a DD and really want a sports car for the weekends/track. Due to my financial situations, I can afford to spend a MAXIMUM of $15k. So, what are your favorite budget sports cars, factoring in cost to own? (Maintenance and repairs, not insurance) I have a few here and if you could add more please do, I want a list to sort through. Thanks /o/
>C5 Corvette (2001-2004)
>Hyundai Genesis Coupe (2010-2013)
>Mercedes SLK/SL - Class roadsters (2003-2007,...
Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Also, the $15k is just for buying the car, don't try to include that in the cost to own for a couple years.

Since it's coastal though, I bet it's rusted to shit underneath.
>tfw buy a base 2 door hatch 6th gen civic and pretend it's a sports car like initial d
does the car not matter, is it really all about the driver?
can I achieve the D with my SOHC hatch civic all the way to the top?

You can achieve my D anytime you want

s-senai...
Selling my car. Its an old semi-classic in good condition, selling at a normal price. Buyer made an offer about $1k less than asking price ($5000). Buyer texted me and asked questions including stuff I mentioned in the ad. He is flying here to buy the car and drive it home. He says he will pay cash. Could this be some kind of scam?
>We agreed to do the sale at the local police station
>He will be paying cash
How the fuck would it be a scam if he's paying cash.
>>14143886
Unless he shows up with zimbabwe dollars I don't see how. the rest sounds like the typical bullshit you get from any craigslist transaction
>>14143900
Counterfeit bills? I unno, the fact that he's flying here and the fact that the deal was possibly too easy makes me suspect. I plan to bring a counterfeit pen.
If it it were offered in the US, how many of you would buy a used RWD 3.5L V6 Toyota sedan (Not Lexus) over a used Charger V6 or 300 V6.
>>14143830
Consider the fact that the only cars I own are in 1:24 or 1:18 scale, I probably wouldn't
>>14143830
The better question is, why would you ever want a V6 Charger or 300?
You're asking if I would rather own a dodge or a chrysler than a toyota?
Are you fucking joking?
Can we get an S10 thread going? I'll start with mine.
>no bed liner
never expected a thread for this
theyre completely overlooked

Nice
I got a flat tire on my awd car and currently can't afford to replace all 4 tires for a matter of weeks. Can I run a same sized one/spare until then?
>>14143708
Grab a used one with similar wear?
Go for it, what's the worst that can happen
>>14143708
Yes why not? Aslong as its same size you should be fine unless 3 tires have 80/100 thread left and the spare has like 40/100 thread. Even then nothing really bad happens just a bit uneven wear. And weird traction.
I got a 75 monte Carlo I'm trying to restore, any one,of a good place to buy replacement parts for it?
parts such as? fenders? or what?
Looks like a nigger's wet dream
>>14143646
i like the car, prob check craigslsit and ebay and youd be surprised at how much your local autoparts store can get. i live near a few local owned non chain stores and they counter guys can get almost anything you need
