Is Jaguar massively underrated?
My extended family has always owned Jags and I always heard horror stories about how unreliable they are but after owning a few BMW and Audi products they don't really seem any worse than what the Germans offer (Mercedes being the exception as they seem pretty solid). All they've ever really given us nightmares with were electronics, but I can say the same for BMW.
I was long dead set on getting a 2-3 year old E550 or 550i for a long time, but I'm really considering just jumping for a lightly used Jaguar XJ V8. I know...

What kind of cars do you hope to buy if you win the $800 million Powerball?
Pic related
Plus a Corvette, GTR, Viper, FRS, and shitloads more.

Could you imagine rolling up in one of those in a public place?

Money no worries instant buy?
Ferrari F40 LM
One of the greatest sounding cars ever made in my opinion.
I have no idea what to do with 800 million, considering I have no interest in status/a big house/hypercars/ancient classics. I'd probably hire a group of people in charge of donating 700 million $ to non-shitty charities.
With the left over 50 million? I dunno. Ford GT, Viper ACR, Ariel Atom 500, Radical RXC 500, everything else would be under 100,000 like the AE86, Volvo 850, Evo IX MR, etc.
I'd probably get my own private plane, since I already have a license and a multi rating. Maybe a Piper Navajo.
Who is the greatest driver to have ever lived?

the answers are gonna be biased but IMO
Walter Röhrl. his career wish very successful and you cant forget about this

Objectively speaking? Schumacher in F1, Loeb in WRC.
KEN BLOCK
I just got pulled over tonight and the cop ordered me out of the car and had my car impounded because I didn't have car insurance.
Fuck my life...
>>14201990
yeah, that shit can happen when you drive without insurance
What did you get pulled over for?
>>14201990
i wish this was a law here in nz, too.
motherfuckers don't insure. motherfuckers cause accidents. motherfuckers try do a runner or give you the wrong details. motherfuckers sometimes get caught but it still makes it a right cunt trying to get my car fixed.
So I'm looking to get a fun sport coupe for driving around the twisties and doing skids and shit. I alreayd have a DD so I'm not too concerned with space, mileage, or anything like that. Basically my question is, what are some pros and cons between a 240sx or a Miata? Miata probably handles better, right? How much better though? Is the 240sx noticeably faster? I know neither one is really fast or quick, but it still matters a bit to me.
>>14201637
I regularly outrun twimcam 240s in my Miata 1.8
Since you already have a daily just get the miata. Way better chassis stock for stock.
>>14201637
Why not get a fwd one
Sup virgins. Tell my why this is a shit idea.
I want a cheap drift car, the total budget being about $1000, to just fuck around with. The idea would be to gut it, throw on cheap tires and maybe a couple dirt cheap mods and hoon.
After scouring craigslist it's seems that the only thing I can get is a late 90s V6 mustang or camaro or basically any BMW, but I mostly see 318is. I see cheap trucks too but I don't think those drift well and there isn't much weight to shed on those. Of those which would you guys go with or is there a car I missed?

No. Just no, dude.

Not a bad idea.
Yeah this GT looks about what you're after but I suspect you'll never get it California legal again.
I've been considering takimg a BMW M3, and customizing (aesthetics only) it into the M3-GTR from Need for Speed: Most wanted. Im not sure if I should invest in something like a sports car for the same value... Here's the Bimmer in question;

Do engines actually die?
I haven't had much experience with gasoline engines past 200k km but do high milage cars actually have engine problems? I'd like to believe that they just depreciate a lot but don't end up being unmaintainable after like 250k km.
Context: mom's looking for a used car, won't buy anything with over 40k km....
Pic unrelated
>>14201182
Miles here.
Purrs like a kitten
>>14201182
>but do high milage cars actually have engine problems?
Generally no it depends on the engine though
The consumable stuff will always break down before the engine.
Suspention, Driveline etc.
With proper maintenance and operation, engines don't really die, they just start losing compression over time as things wear out.
Mechanical failures do happen, but usually engines I see at the shop that are old and worn out just have worn rings or bearings from 300,000 miles of daily use.
How many of you own new cars? (Around 2014-2016)
Do you like driving it?
Would you prefer driving an older, used car?

2015 ford fiesta se sedan.
Its great.
I have a wife and baby boy and I bought it for her. I don't mind it so much but I like my truck more.
i have a 2015 lancer, bought it last January and i still daily drive my 20 year old truck. its terribly boring but at-least gets half decent gas mileage and is AWD. we really only use it for long trips
Was pretty good stock but it's been amazing with a few mods, It would take a crowbar to get me out of it.
Most of the vehicles here were less than 20 years old when this picture was taken.
Congratulations

Hey /o/, I am planning to drive down from San Jose to LA next weekend to visit some friends and finish off my winter break with a trip.
My plan is to drive along highway 1 and visit different coastal town on the way until I reach LA. What are some of the towns that /o/ recommend?
Thanks guys
Pismo for sure if you can drive onto the beach and camp. Not really that much of interest on the route aside from the road IMO, I like going North on 1 more.
How many days are you alotting yourself and what budget?
Also are you interested in historical or informative stuff about towns/places or literally just like to sorta drive through and see em?
>>14200545
Definitely gonna go by there after stopping at SLO
>>14200625
I am planning to leave San Jose on Friday (morning?) and then leave LA by Sunday Mid afternoon so I will get back to San Jose by Sunday night.
I am definitely into historic towns but I don't think I will have enough time to go through all of them. I think I might be looking at driving through and maybe stop by and take some pictures then move on to the next spot.
Why hasn't any manufacturer made a carbon fiber engine block?
>hit redline once
>engine explodes into shards of carbon fiber
Wouldn't work. There was an article floating around a few years ago claiming Ferrari was working on one but it ended up being an April's Fools joke.
first i want to know what makes you think it's a good idea

I can't believe people actually listen to him. I'll give it to him, some of the beats are cool but it's not like he actually makes them.
