So I'm looking to get a fun sport coupe for driving around the twisties and doing skids and shit. I alreayd have a DD so I'm not too concerned with space, mileage, or anything like that. Basically my question is, what are some pros and cons between a 240sx or a Miata? Miata probably handles better, right? How much better though? Is the 240sx noticeably faster? I know neither one is really fast or quick, but it still matters a bit to me.

I regularly outrun twimcam 240s in my Miata 1.8

Since you already have a daily just get the miata. Way better chassis stock for stock.

Get a cheap beater RX-7 FC, strip it and tarbo it. Give it a good tune.

You now have a stupidly fast and light car with a live rear axle and godly weight distribution.

Have fun.

You realize it's not 2004 anymore
I really wish these "stuckininitiald" faggot would off themselves

Both are slow as fuck. Miata is more fun in their stock forms. Overall for a grip car the miatas potential is more practical and obtainable. 240s can make excellent track cars but not without dumping tons of cash into it, stock 240s are trash inside and out and have more rust issues than practically any other car I've seen next to Mazda's

Is an NA Miata a good choice if I don't care about speed so much? I just want something fun that grips and handles well on all the back roads and hills around here.

Basically just looking for something fun to drive late at night when I can't sleep.

NA is good. NB is superior as a car, but NA is more pure. Also, pop-ups.

If you're ever planning to turbo it, pick 1.6
It spools slower but has higher rpm.
Otherwise pick 1.8
Though there isn't that much difference in performance anyway. Both are slow. But fun.
I enjoyed driving miata more than much more powerful cars.

That yellow Ferrari looks sexual.

What!
Rpm doesn't matter for power when turbo'd, its all about mass flow.
The 1.8 will spool faster, accelerate faster, and make more power for the same cost.

I cant see any benefit to the 1.6
