I saw this 2001 mustang on craigslist for $995. This is going to be my first car. Automatic Transmission, 3.8L Engine V6,and 182378 Miles. I called the place and the guy said that the only thing wrong with it is that the air (AC) compressor does not work, and that it does need it's maintenance and alignment. I asked if the motor and transmission were fine, he said that they were and that the car turns on and runs great. I;m just a little iffy by the "maintenance" part. I have a 2002 Honda Accord that's shaking badly especially when it's in gear and the AC is on. What doesn't make sense is that all the motor mounts look good with no cracks, yet I can see it shaking bad, enough to make the steering wheel uncomfortable to hold onto. Could there be any other cause of this besides motor mounts?

So I'm a sucker for 1980's jap cars (even though I never owned one, I just like them lines) and there's a 1985 Civic selling for US$900, with 100km in it ("grandma car"). Judging by the photos, it looks in mint condition.
Are there any common issues with the engine? I plan to use it as a daily driver. I am kinda handy with a wrench, but I don't know much about common problems with jap cars that are that old
