Whats the best fun, reasonably reliable, daily driver for around $8000? I live in the north, so something rear wheel isn't ideal, but if its worth it I'll get snow tires
Pic related, current car. Its an automatic unfortunately and starting to fall apart.

lads im about to pull the trigger on either the fiesta ST or Abarth. Which one do you prefer and why?
ST cause mo' powa
>>15265348
Fiesta. It will last longer than fiat.
>>15265355
isnt the abarth more fun + exhaust note though?
It's sad that classic american sport cars looks badass but have terrible aerodynamic and drive like a huge cow. Japanese cars are way better with aerodynamic, driving and build quality, but they don't look as agressive as american. What do you think about that fact?
>>15275594
>What do you think about that fact?
I think its fucking stupid and not a fact at all
>>15275617
As a rule it's pretty accurate though, American cars look powerful, drive angrily, and cannot into turns. Japanese cars are anaemic, and look alright, but they handle like a dream
>>15275696
thats pretty fucking stupid and not a rule at all
Hello /O/, my new head unit is both simplistic in the sense its identical to the stock, stylish since its blue BUT its upgraded with an aux input. Ants that's really all you need.
>>15268324
I've never listened to the radio in years. Really they could just get rid of the head unit altogether and just have a bluetooth speaker system that you pair with your smartphone and there you go, that's your future proof sound system.
>>15268341
Although I agree, I find that a good listen to the radio every now and then helps bring new music while riding shiny and chrome
>>15268356
something that can pick up hobby or national radio stations is good for avoiding the Sony/top40 play lists
I agree that there are times where you need to let the music find you

Fake exhaust tips make me furious
>>15267342
It looks real to me. But yeah, a fake one would be silly.
Yea me too. This is really getting out of hand lately.
I think it all started with the fuckin honda civic in 2006. Back then it was looking so fuckin dumb already. I couldn't imagine any serious manufacturer copying this style.. And look where we've got.
>>15267364
wow your civics look so fucking weird
>4 door sports car
>cvt
>>15269426
Nissans maxima and Altima will never be "sports cars" or sports sedans.
>>15269426
I'm pretty sure they stopped being called "4 door sports cars" by Nissan over a decade ago. I don't know why YouTube channels that review cars keep digging at it for failing as a "sports car", when it's not. If you look at the marketing for the Maxima, it's presented as a comfy, loaded sedan for the hard working middle class. Nothing more.
>>15269426
>4 door
>sports car
The new maxima is pretty dank for what it is, though.
So, my local Fiat/Alfa dealership will have his first 124's on the lot this weekend. I already have my appointment to test drive one. Sadly no Abarth's in the first shipment but he expects to have those by July. I can honestly say I am pretty pumped
>>15272352
nice, i look forward to reading your thoughts.
any word on when the abarths will arrive? and if it'll have the abarth steering wheel?
I think it's a great alternative to the miata, the longer flatter hood makes it look good. I'm not sure what to think of the engine, the exhaust note doesn't sound as good as it was hyped to be. What about the turbo? Does it make any good turbo sounds stock or would that be easy to do?
>>15272392
>not sure what to think of the engine
its a 1.6 liter
not too much to consider
who here would ever seriously consider buying a supercar if you couldnt drive it until it was paid off but that wouldnt be for a long long time (north of 5 years)
buy you got to go look at it in your garage and if you had the balls you could take it out and risk the crusher if you ever got stopped
>>15271178
well first of all i wouldnt buy a fuckin viper
>>15271184

Shitposting and memes aside, how decent/shit-tier is the C4 Corvette? I've been considering one as their prices keep on droppin'
What about a ZR1?

>>15265322
A lt1 version is nice. A bit slow but they handle well.
About to buy a 2006 Subaru Forest L.L. Bean for about $8000, but I'm a little worried about the head gasket issue.
What does everyone think about the car? It has 139,000 miles on it and drives beautifully.
>auto
cringe.
check service history op
>>15273616
Service history looks great.
First owner changed oil every 3 months, got regular maintenance. It did fail emissions test on 3/28/12 but then passed emissions the exact same day.
>>15273627
sensors probably werent ready. thats why. no big deal
forester is a great vehicle. i recommend it.

Why do the "cheaper" cars (or I guess japanese?) brands always pick a boring silver logo instead of something cool like ferrari and lambo and shit?
I never understood this
>people putting lambo wheels on their shitbox
I never understood this
Same reason the cars dont look like Lambos.
>>15268899
Most brands haven't kept their emblem the same for 50+ years.
Intricate emblems are a thing of the past. Look at Caddy's old emblem, or chevy's.
ITT:
We say what we would realistically offer on each other's cars
> '91 Celica
> not turbo AllTrac
> Enkei Rims
> Oil Leak
> 8/10 interior
$1300 if the leak's not bad and it's a manual. You can keep the rims
uhh, next
Needs a head gasket, slave cylinder, rear seal, and clutch. have all the parts. Even an aluminum head and roller rockers and high lift cam.
I knows what I gots!
