‘What did you have in mind?’

‘Mamiya’s, of course.’ She replies, as if it’s the most natural thing in the world.

‘What’s Mamiya’s?’ You frown, very much puzzled by the word. It sounded somewhat familiar, but you find you can’t quite put it; it’s on the tip of your tongue, the edge of your thoughts, but you just can’t draw it out.

Nagato throws you a gaze, flatter than anything you had received from anyone, as if you had given her the most incredulous answer in the history of incredulous answers. She sighs, crossing her arms and jutting her hip back, eyes on you the whole way. For a while, you actually do wonder if you’d lost a few more brain cells since the day began.

‘You were just there this evening, sir.’

The proverbial lightbulb takes a while to shine, but it does and you fight the urge to smash your forehead against the pavement. You look to Nagato sheepishly, scratching the back of your head.

‘Oh, where the – ah, right.’

The both of you resume walking down the rubble; you find that you have to keep up with Nagato – her strides being much faster than yours. The moon is bright above, the clouds parting to allow her rays to come upon the ruins of the city, allowing you to maneuver yourselves just as well. After a while of quiet, you turn to her, hoping to at least alleviate your chill through speaking.

Besides, you hated the silence.

‘How’s the food there?’

Nagato looks thoughtful for a moment, crossing her arms as the clicking of her metallic heels becomes the only sound on the battered path. She scratches her chin for a bit, and you notice just how… adorable she could be when she isn’t all about business. Not that you haven’t seen her outside of business mode.

The lingering tingle on your shoulder can attest to that.

‘I can’t comment that well. I’ve been eating the same gruel for years.’ She finally shrugs, her mouth scrunching at the end of her statement.

You’re genuinely curious now.

‘Don’t you get tired of eating the same thing every day?’

‘When you’re a soldier, choice is a luxury.’

You smile at her; for some reason or other, she looks to the sea after, the both of you still walking.

‘Fair point.’ You agree, putting your hands behind your head, ‘So how differently is it prepared?’

‘I can’t say for sure – if you’re up to it, we can go right now.’

You try to confirm one vital point before you make your decision.

‘No one’s died from this, right?’

‘No, but...’ Nagato shakes her head; you find relief coming over you before she continues, ‘try not to be so hard on Mamiya if it’s… not to your liking. She tries, she really does.’

Searching your pockets, the only thing you find is cell phone. There isn't a wallet anywhere on you, and the only thing in sight is a motel keycard on the table. Searching the drawers of the nearby stand you find Gideon Bible alongside a 9mm with a loaded clip.

Ok, tried this last week and fell short by one player, going to try one last time!

Trying this board out for the first time and setting up a mini-quest that will eventually become a more refined quest!

Looking for 3 players to test out how it plays. First 3 to respond that they want to play will be Red Player, Green Player, and Blue Player, in that order. Do a 5d5 roll on your opening post, it will be your starting HP.

The goal is to escape the dungeon (land on the box where the yellow arrow is on the map). You do not have to kill anything to escape and win the game! However, if you leave the dungeon too soon, your fellow players may have a much harder time escaping themselves.

Movement:
Once the game starts, you will each be taking 1d5 rolls (First Red Player, then Green Player, then Blue Player) to determine how many spaces you can move. So first Red will make a post (with the 1d5 roll) stating how they would like to move. For example, Red might roll saying "2 up, 2 right". If Red rolls a 3, he will move as far as he can along his intended path (2 up, 1 right). If Red rolls a 5, he will move 2 up, 2 right, and simply stop after the 4 paces he intended.

There are 4 enemies lurking about. 3 are the sentinels, who aren't as powerful as the boss, but are excellent trackers and will hunt down the player that matches their color right from the start of the game, as efficiently as possible. If a sentinel's target is no longer on the board, it will go after the player that is closest to them instead. Sentinels each take a turn rolling to determine how far they will travel towards their target (also 1d5 rolls). After each human player makes their moves, Red Sentinel rolls first, then Green Sentinel, then Blue Sentinel, and then finally the Boss will move before it is Red Player's turn again.

The Boss is the 4th enemy, and he will only target a player if they are within 10 spaces of him. When no player is in range, the boss randomly roams one tile at a time, and will do a 1d4 roll to determine the direction of roaming (1 moves up, 2 moves right, 3 moves down, 4 moves left - if it leads to an invalid space, he will stay still). When a player is in range, he will move 4 spaces every time, towards that player. The boss will prioritize his target based on whoever entered his range first (or next, if the first player is no longer in play)

Combat:
If an enemy occupies the same space as you, you enter combat mode! You cannot leave combat mode until there are no enemies left on the tile. Players may assist one another and join into an existing battle. Each player and each enemy can only make one attack per turn. Players start with a base attack of 3. When in combat mode, instead of rolling to move, you are rolling to attack, so roll 1d based on your listed base attack (so if your base attack was 6, roll 1d6, if it is 10, roll 1d10, etc) and state your intended target if there multiple enemies on a tile. When entering combat mode, enemy stats will be revealed. Sentinels roll 1d, boss rolls 2d.

Pickups:
There are pickups across the dungeon. See the map legend to identify which does what. Players take a pickup simply by passing through the space that it exists on. Enemies do not take the pickups, but can pass through the spaces as well. Pickups activate immediately on contact. Enemies have a 1/2 chance of dropping a pickup upon death (Players drop nothing).

- Nothing moves diagonally across squares, this means for the sake of grabbing the bosses attention, if were in a diagonal square to the boss, you would be considered two spaces away.

- No friendly fire, but I will leave it open to everyone if they choose to help or abandon their teammates.

Welcome to Goblin quest!
You guys will be playing a goblin that lost its memory and its trying to survive in a generic mid/low fantasy world. We will start by figuring out who we think we are and then rolling 3 stats (STR, DEX, MIND) to figure out who we actually are. Since we are using stats you can imagine that some actions will require rolling and in that case I will accept the first roll that is posted. Most of the time I will be providing green arrow choices but you are always free to add your own ideas to them.
But first let's set the scene and figure out who this goblin thinks he is.

You are a goblin. A proud and happy that had somehow found himself in a small cave. But you don't happen to remember much about yourself besides your name and a few things.

So, you're an inhabitant of some fantasy world somewhere in some universe where evil shit is happening. A long time ago, your world was in the clutches of chaos and disorder. Bandits would regularly steal people's shit, dragons would roast people and then steal their shit, and your civilization was like some third-world shithole. But then, the great hero Pyre brought order to the land with his 8 disciples. Dragons were slain, bandits incarcerated, and the world advanced in infrastructure and technology. Unfortunately, Pyre was a major pompous asshole, and he only wanted to save the world so that he could rule everyone with an iron fist. Thus, the world became orderly, but under the rule of a fell and terrible monarch.

What do you have to do with any of this?

Well, you're some random adventurer who's fed up with Pyre's bullshit mandates and shitty laws. You want to kick his shit in, but in order to defeat him, you must grow stronger by collecting the 8 magical Macguffins of light. Before you can do that, who are you?

You awake with a start, a veil of darkness uplifting itself as your mighty form gains coherence. Finding yourself leaning against a brick wall, you run your gauntleted hand over your blood red hair.

Slowly and gradually getting up, you take stock of your immediate surroundings. "What the Goddesses name..." Confusion washes over you as you are in an alley, a giant trashcan leans to the far right of you and another brick wall in the back of you. Beyond the alley seems to be...Metallic carriages that are extremely loud with strangely dresses Hyrulian seeming people walking about.

Everything about you views exceedingly well as you check your partially armored frame and check any for wounds across your green body. Clutching your backside, the Warlock Blade rests in a sheath where it belongs.

You spend a lot of your free time training with Kyra. You haven't talked much since the siege and you've been so busy dealing with the new arrivals, your relationship issues and other assorted tasks that you find yourself missing Kyra's barely noticeable presence.

Oddly, despite her being the best at playing the disappearing act, finding her is never all that hard. In The Sword and Shield, The Drunken Lion or sometimes you just see her on the street. When you want to find her she seems to find you. You tell her you want to spend some time honing your more subtle skills. But more than that you want to coordinate and practice working alongside her.

She agrees and together the two of you spend some time outside the walls of Seaside and inside the halls of The Fighter's Guild honing your knife work and your skill at hitting the vital areas of an enemy. Gale even volunteers to be your practice opponent for perfecting your teamwork. Gale is actually very fucking good at no-selling many of your more inferior tactics, repaying any mistake with a pommel to the face or a gauntlet to the gut.

The two of you really have to work together to get past his defenses all while dodging the blunted greatsword he swings at you in wide arcs. It takes focus, concentration and a sense of the other's location and plan of attack to make any progress at all. Thankfully the residual magical effects of the coat you wear seem to make the process easier, allowing Kyra to understand and follow your intentions quickly.

Soon the two of you are working like a well-oiled machine, utilizing flanking tactics and feinting maneuvers, piggybacking off the other in absolute silence. You two are so in-sync that at one point you fear you've formed another one of those mental bonds. Thankfully that's not the case. By the end of it all, you've assassinated Gale a dozen times over.

The training you do outside the walls places Kyra much more in the role of educator. She throws explosive concoctions at you and expects you to not get hurt. Where she acquired such an abundant supply of these things, you have no idea, but thankfully the lessons work rapidly.

At first, even when you were able to gain some distance from the explosion's epicenter, you still ended up slightly burned and injured. However, with a few tips from her about how to utilize terrain, wind currents, your own agility and how to roll through fiery bursts in a way to minimize your skin's actual exposure to danger you manage to perfect avoiding a majority of the damages caused by being caught in the vicinity of an explosive burst.

After passing your “final” – Kyra tossing five of the explosives at you at once – the two of you sit together eating stew as the sun slowly sets.

“Good progress,” she says simply as the two of you dish out your respective portions.

“Thanks. For helping me,” you tell her.

She nods.
