Hey /out/, question for you. I work at a golf course during the summer, and oftentimes I end up working in the rain. I have a light jacket that I've used before to stay dry, but it's a cheap one and it's pretty shitty. I'm asking for advice on what jacket I should buy, keep in mind that I'm looking to spend as little as possible for the best protection from rain, but also pretty free range of motion, also I'm in Canada. Thanks /out/.

Get a poncho tarp. If you ever get lost you can build a shelter out of it. You never know when you'll go from golf course to lost man. Always best to be prepared.

I bought this and am very happy with it after a year of heavy use. Only 60 bucks and it is the same design, same materials as the 120 dollar north face equivalent. Not very breathable though, you will get hot in warm weather. Breathability will cost you. For 60 bucks though this jacket is amazing.

The season is fast approaching (at lest up here in the north east). I had mine out today for some maintenance.

My first kayak was a bass pro shops ascend fs12t sit on top. It was great. The only fault was sitting in it for 6+ hours got painful.
Mine had a seat that was molded into the kayak. The new ones have a raised seat.
They do cost about $550 though.
Hobie Outback is the best fishing kayak made.
Whats some things i need for a good bug out bag im kinda broke but so far i got a 9mm hi point some water purification tablets a camel pack rope and 100 rds of 9mm ammo and a axe any other stuff i need.

salt and pepper. metal canteen (full, replace water every ~2 week). flashlight, fire starter (a small vial of alcohol is very utilitarian for sterilizing and fires).
for food, i recommend blending rice into a powder. the thickening properties are very efficient, to the point a water bottle full of it can make nearly 15 bowls of porridge, that can be flavored with powder soup stock or sugar and spice. bugging out is an on the run type deal though, so some trail mix would also be welcome
extra pairs of socks and underwear. gloves. plastic garbage bags. a cheese cloth...

40 garbage bags (extra large) they are cheap lightweight and offer insulation not found in nature anywhere and the number of possible applications are enormous. not to mention you should not leave garbage behind.
20 freezer bags (1 gallon size) can transport and store water and food items you gather. very compact when not used. you can take a dump in it and take it with you if you are tracked by dogs and not worry about smelling up your kit.

My friend told me that having stored my sleeping bag inside its stuff sack for too long decreased its temp rating. It's rated for 40 but now he says its probably more like 50.
I'm going to Utah where it's supposed to be around 30 at the lowest. Will I be okay if I have a nice pad and tend to sleep warm, plus cuddling with gf who has a 20 degree bag?

This is far more true for down than synthetic. Down bags should always be layed out flat and open for storage (under a bed is a good place) synthetics can be stored in their stuff sacks, so long as you don't compress them.
If your bag is down and you've stored it compressed, I wouldn't trust it. At least spend a night in your back yard to see how it is at that temperature. Look into getting a liner; thermalite extreme will add 25F to your rating. Yes, it does look like overpriced mosquito netting,...

Hey /out/, so I bought my first bushcraft knife to use when in the woods. Thomas T263E stainless steel, integral handle, 4 1/4 inches blade and 2.5mm thick at spine.
I was going to buy a Mora 510 but the plastic handle felt cheap, also the guy at the store told me this one it's a better deal for the price, $17. I did some cutting and felt very nice and sturdy in hand, also sharp as fuck. The only thing I don't like is the china made.
Anyways, how did I do?

one of the unspoken criteria for bushcraft blades, to me, is that it has an overpronounced lip above the handle. quillon, guard, whatever it is called. there cannot be any doubt to me, that if im using it in unruly conditions, or need to use it for some heavy duty work, that my hand will slip and cut me open when im miles away from healthcare.
youll notice that almost every popular bushcraftsmen customize their blades to have this lip, but they never add it to their criteria, which i think is irresponsible.

Internet: On my phone I have 1 bar 3G, however with this nifty antanne I can get up to 30mbps dc-hspa+ and 80mbps LTE. Unfortunately 5G of data is $50 though I have a plan to get unlimited.
Second top antanne is to spread wifi across the block.

Yes. I cleared the 'Yaris track' by hand. Combined with natural clearings to get as deep as I could. Was limited due to the width of portable building and shit turning of transport truck.
