So I have these pretty basic leather lined leather boots, which I wear with army wool/poly socks, and which my feet manage to totally drench with perspiration within a couple of hours. They also dry terribly slow - there's advice to let boots dry a whole day after wearing, and mine are nigh unwearable even drying them indoors through the night. I don't want to imagine how that would be on a multiple day hike and such.
I imagine synthetic lining or goretex would dry faster (and be less problematic even when wet) but I kinda like how leather doesn't stink like hell. Besides, I'd prefer sewn-welted boots for longevity and there are no such GTX boots that I know of.
Does anyone have experience with managing moisture in leather boots? I know about changing socks and such but don't think that would help (in fact, my socks were usually barely damp, all the moisture went to the leather). Old style leather boots had no lining at all, I could imagine that those would absorb less moisture or dry faster?

Gore Tex is a big deal for a good reason. Historically people in warm climates just wore sandals, cloth shoes or built really low-topped, light boots like desert boots.
I mean your'e best option is just getting a solid pair of synthetic/breathable/gortex shoe/boots. Or buying like top of the line wool socks.
Most decent synthetics will last you 500 miles OD's. Don't be one of those people wearing them shits to the bar and camping, get a separate pair.
I'd also suggest trying those sweat wicking salts if you haven't already, essentially just drysol.
honestly sounds like you need to condition your boots alot. i'm employed as a leather worker in Australia and we use a mixture of bees wax and neatsfoot oil to dress all of our products.
i own a pair of danner pronghorns which i know everyone is going to give me shit for because they're not made in Murica. but they still go through the same quality control in oregon where the other danners are made. so far they're very comfortable and the water proofing is amazing. they're all leather with a gortex lining. though the gortex for me is only a back up. i rubbed the conditioner into the boots and wore them out in the wet ground and pouring rain. the water just beads up and rolls off the leather.
i've had good quality synthetic gortex scarpa boots before and the gortex lining lasted 8 months and the boots lasted 1 year before the stitching on both boots failed. i'd expect more from $300 boots, which is why i've moved on to leather.
so pretty much i recommend putting some neatfoot oil and beez wax on your leather boots (put multiple applications on and see how the fare then. if you want to get new boots. go for all leather. they may weigh a bit more and might not be as comfortable at first but they will become more comfortable as they shape to your feet and they will last longer.

I wish you could build a traditional house like that in Finland but the Government requlations demand insulation and building materials to be more modern and synthetic. Over all If you build it all up to demanded government specs you'll have depending on luck 5-20 years before the whole house must be renovated and practically constructed again due to mold.
At the same time houses build before 1960s seem to be mostly mold free and if properly renovated can be rather comfortable to live even by modern standards.

I need a fish finder for a inland lake in Michigan. I bought a cheap lowrance but it will only give accurate reading going extremely slow. Does anybody have anything they can recommend? Im more concerned about depth reading than fish.

I have a lowrance mark 5x dsi. It sucks. It had the same problem. Try angling the transducer down some more. like push the tail end of it down a few clicks so it points more forward. worked for mine
I'm thinking about selling it and gettig a garmin echo but I rarely take the boat out anymore so I just never got around to it

I have a Simrad GO7 XSE on my big boat. It works well as a finder and the GPS is fine. Takes both navionics and lakemaster cards as well. It has NEMA 2000 so I get fuel consumption and other stats from the engine.
My inland lake boat has a Humminbird Helix 7. Fewer features than the Simrad and no CHIRP but it is an awesome side scanner. Very accurate GPS and if you add a lake card the shit is perfect. On straight up GPS and graphing capability I prefer it to the Simrad.

What type of boat do you have? Also, what kind of depth...lake trout 200 ft or bass in 15 ft?
A budget fish finder for only around $100 will report depth accurately.
Is there anyway to be /out/ in the woods, living the /out/ life without a cucked hunter or forester fucking your shit up and calling the police?

I live in Waldeck Frankenberg, Hesse, the county with the lowest population and the most forests, but still there are alot of hunters and foresters.
Any tips to how avoid them or find a place where they never been in the woods? Just wan't to fucking chill and be alone from the pest called humans.

If so can you guys share pictures and talk about your kits? Finally, are there any non-screw eyelets I can buy? Something with a flat head ( like a nail ) I could pound into the branch I'd be using would be nice.

Yesterday I bought the rush 24 for my archery hobby and bushcrafting. I think the 24 is enough for me, because I need a good handling and not a to big backpack when I am on any archery parkours or soemthing else. For what do you need the 72? Do you really need the 72?

caught this grunt fish tonight, turns out I read online they are poisonous, sent me to emergency room with 4 large bites. i will have last laugh as it is boiling in a pot on the stove right now. doctor place iodine substance to reieve poison so i also add a few drops to the pot of water to purify before eating.

So I've got an intresting idea. I'll preface this by saying i've done some research and couldn't find any mention of it. But has anyone thought about using a pre-workout supplement during a hike or backpack? I would think to have one water bottle with one scoop of diluted C4 in it and another of fresh water. My thoughts are that it would keep you going for longer without tireing or resting. On the other side, would the extra sodium and need for water alongside it make the whole thing pointless? I'd love some feedback.
TL;DR do you hike with C4? is it effective?

C4 can cause dehydration pretty quick, so you'd need to bring extra water, especially if it's hot.
I find that the kick doesn't last very long, so unless this is a really intensive hike over rough terrain, it won't help much with endurance. My experience comes mostly from drinking a whole scoop at once for sports and lifting, but taking occasional drinks from a diluted solution may help.
TL;DR I've taken C4, but not while hiking. It probs won't work anyway.
I drink a big can of coconut water before I go. It was recommended to me for cramps, seems to work. I'd be interested in something also. Some days it seems like I can hike forever and sometimes not.

There's a reason that marathon runners don't do this. Pre-workout supplements are for shorter events, like doing 40 minutes of circuit training or a HIIT session. For longer events it's more important to keep your blood sugar and electrolytes up, as well as hydrating regularly.
