What hat does /out/ wear? Is the Sunday Afternoons Charter hat gud? It seems fucking expensive for a hat but I like that it has a sweatband built in and adjustable fit.
I maintain and cut new trails for work and wear a hat mostly to keep the sweat and mosquito netting off my face. I'm under a canopy most of the time so sun protection isn't too important.

In two weeks I visit my 12th music festival. We are going to camp for 4 days.
It's all fun however there is one inconvenience I want to prevent. I'm going to drink ALOT of beer and afterwards I have soft and greasy shits. It's not diarrhia, just very very very smeary. So I have to wipe endlessly.
Last time I used a whole box of baby wipes in one sitting and there was still shit on it.
So my question. How to I get my shit dry. I DON'T want to get constipated. I just want to shit pretty little dry and hard turds.
Any suggestions?

I'm planning on backpacking across Europe as a vagabond/hitchhiker. Sleeping in tents, cooking at campfires, just going where life takes me for a couple of years.
I don't own much in the protection department as I'm from a nefarious no-handgun country, but I have a few good knives that I've collected from being /out/ for a decade. Pic related is what I'm thinking of bringing for general camping use and protection; an almost new Glock Field Knife and a Gerber Guardian Backup that I'll use at boot knife.

I priced a used boat at about $19k usd which isn't bad if you plan on living on it (i do). But from my understanding docking fees are a bitch. As for a tin can with a motor you gotta make sure its seaworthy. Cant take a lake boat to the ocean without getting capsized

So I'm living I'm San Francisco for a while. And I also love to hike from 1hour to about 3 or 4 hours. My foot size is about 9&half to 10. I have flat feet. I can't figure what boots are right for me especially since I have no experience with boots. I'm also rucking with about 30-40lbs in my pack to prep for the marines (have a few years for that) and I need boots that could help form my feet or help them get used to being in boots for the military. I don't know if that made sense but any help would be appreciated!

I have 30 tomato plants in my yard. I don't spray my lawn because it's bad for just about everything (I need pollinators, and pollinators love clover), but my pompous asshole neighbors complained so much that I finally paid truegreen to come spray the grass areas of my lawn. I have 18 tomatoes in black dirt with only about 24 inches of dirt between my caged plants and the lawn, and my best guess is that the lazy shit they hired to spray out here...

just out of curiosity, how many of you go camping with only tarp shelters? I've only done it a few times and it's been fun.
If anyone does it regularly, what tarps do you use? I've used only cheap blue harbor freight tarps and they've been trashed out when I got back home. I was testing a new idea of mine earlier today and the tarp tore before I even finished setting it up. The shelter seemed to work nicely, had good cover, wasn't too big as to keep some heat in, and I believe would have kept me dry, except for the hole.

I use tarps all the time. Either with hammocks, stretched over my bivy tent if bad rain, or over my cot if I'm in my jeep. Lean-to set ups are really easy and work good, a frame set ups also work nice. I'm a fan of packing two small tarps and making two lean-tos, or a large a frame set up. Gives you plenty of room and options incase you're in a bad storm and have to shift around much.
The $12 double ply tarps at walmart is good to go. I use them a lot of the cheap ones from ollies, which isn't...

Tarp + bivy shelter seems like the best combo for an individual, assuming there are trees to anchor it to or you use trekking poles. If it's a clear night you don't need to bother to set up the tarp because a little bit of dew in the morning isn't going to phase you in your bivy shelter, or your pack assuming you've packed properly. And if it's threatening to rain it's a really quick and simple way to add an extra layer of protection.
Wind obviously plays havoc with them though. Need to make sure they're staked down really well.
