Besides, it's not like you have to use it. It's nice to have for emergencies though. Stop crying about it faggot.

Just got the three day weekend off as of 7am this morning.
I was expecting to work so I made no plans.
I have access to an old camper van and I am in denver.
Is there any hope of finding a campsite somewhere on Memorial day weekend?

Also last minute camping in general

Unless you live full time in the wilderness you won't have time for traditional treatments to work.

If you do live full time in the woods your life expectancy is in your 30's anyways, no way to know if medicine helps when you die that young.

You guys getting ready for some fishing this weekend? Well so is everybody else so don't get too annoyed at the kids making a ton of noise right by your prime fishing spot. I know I will be out there.

Talk about fishin'

Just a friendly reminder that Dick's has Siennas for $19.99 this weekend. That Skeet Reese reel is on sale again as well. A few combos are cheap now too.

My prime spots are stupid places
What parent will let a kid descend a 15 foot rock cliff or wade through 4 feet of rushing water to get to an untouched section of river

I would hate to try and fish at the pier on Sunday afternoon. That's exactly why I fish those strange hidden freshwater lakes.

Besides the cleared area for bedding and a fire ring, what do you add onto your permanent or semi permanent campsites?

I always try to drag in a log for seating and on lazyer trips chained falled trees to the truck an taken them back to camp. The latter being for firewood. After watching the primitive tech youtube channel I have ignorant ideals of making little shacks out there.
I got to wondering about other setups and google only returned RV "campers" if you can even call it camping with ac and a tv.. I digress /out/
What extras do you add to your campsite

Hey guys, I live in tennessee and went out boating and saw this bird I have never seen before, I thought it was a duck. It flew out of the water into the tree, it was black, it had orange legs, it had an orange beak I think. But what it had was, and idk what these are but it had these yellow long things coming out of its head. Like 6 inches long.

Any clue what it might be? I live in middle tennessee, and the bird was beautiful. I am dying to know what it is.

Necessary, without proportions I don't know if we're dealing with something shaped like a finch or something like a heron

>number of yellow 'things' and how they were arranged on the head, in a pair if two or in a crest or halo if many?

Was gonna say this

My one little doge used to love gettin high. If I was smokin a bowl on the couch and he was next to me, he would always get his nose right up in my face or in the pipe when I took a hit. I think he misses it ever since I quit.

One time I got him so stoned on hash clouds that he didn't move for at least an hour. Just laying on my bed on his back with his legs up in the air. I was scared for a minute, but then realized he was just really stoned and wanted to be pet.

Bigger doge was never a big fan.

Has anyone used pic related? I've heard it's a God-tier system but I haven;t ever used it.

Yes I can confirm for god tier

I've used many water purification systems and I can say this is the one I will use for the rest of my life.

>no moving parts that may fail in the field (have had hand pumps fail on me)
>no batteries (steri pens fly through batteries)
>no bad taste (iodine tablets and polar pure)
>nice, thick plastic that won't rip if you are at least semi careful with it.
>lightweight compact and extremely easy to use. No pumping required.

Only con I can think of is that you can't readily refill mid-hike. It's more of a base camp system but if you carry 2-3 liters of water during the day anyways, you should'nt need to bust it out on the trail.

Buy it annon. No better way to purify water.

I didn't even think about ticks since we don't have them where I'm from. Do I have the Lyme?
9 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>775579
That is not a tick bite. Most likely a spider or mosquito. A tick bite would be purple.
>>
>>775579
It takes about 2 days for a tick to feed up, at the end it looks like a big grain of rice (size and color). I believe you would have noticed that on your foot.

The red area appears 3 weeks after the bite, can be at a different place and is 2/3 x bigger.
Note that is only appears in 1/3 of the case (2/3 of lyme infections didn't have the RROD)
>>
>>775579
might want to see a doctor about it. I pulled a tick from my leg a month back, and doctors will be very understanding if you ask them about it.

Better safe, than sorry.

I'm on the hunt for a new sleeping bag.

For preference I want one under £100 which packs down well and is rated for winter use. The snugpak softie elite 4 seems to tick all of these boxes (£84.95, rated to extreme -15ºC, 26 x 24cm fully compressed pack size, Weight: 1950g) so that's what i'm leaning towards.

I've been using the same bag for the last 8 years so I have no real idea whats out there now, I heard that snugpak bags are really good for the money though. Any other recommendations guys?

Cheers!

I'm also looking at getting a Snugpak. I'm doubting about getting the Osprey 12, Harrier 10 or Elite4.

I'm curious if someone had Experience with their sleeping bags.
>>
>>774825

op here

on further research the softie 9 hawk looks like a much better option. Smaller, lighter 3 season bag which can be made to a 4 season bag by adding a liner. I think i'm sold.

http://www.snugpak.com/outdoor/softie-9-hawk-sleeping-bag

You can find it elsewhere for £100
>>
>>774825
I've got the "Special Forces System" (dumb name I know).

Basically it's a pair of bags meant to be able to zip together, one inside of the other. The idea being you have three options, the light inner, the medium outer, or the two combined for extreme cold.

They do kind of exaggerate their "extreme" ratings. I've used the two combined in a bivi bag in a freezing rainstorm, and I was pretty sure at the time that I was in danger of death. Maybe it would meet their -20C claim bone dry with no wind, but I think you'd be pretty fucking miserable even then.

However, I do like the versatility, and they are absurdly small and light compared to the down-filled Canadian military bags that I have.

This tackle is used when fishing with a float/bobber. It is used to allow the float to slide up your line until a preset depth is reached.

If its for one of the jungle warfare schools run out there just take exactly what they put on the kitlist. They know best.

I have no idea why else you would be in Belize, but when I was there the Brits had a jungle warfare school that was considered one of the best (if not the best) in the world. We acquired most of our supplies locally, traders are set up to supply visiting soldiers and other lunatics wanting a jungle fix.

Do not visit Raoul's Rose Garden unless you want STDs.
>>
>>777592

Amazon has packs of cans, I think for 6oz off deeps woods it's $40 for 6 and $60 for 12.

I don't remember having to use much bug spray in the Belize jungles/hills. Some spots near the coast, though, were mosquito infested. It was mostly just very hot all the time, which I got used to after about the second day after sweating buckets on the first day.
