You don't.
Who would be stupid enough to fall for a trap like this?
A person could also easily free itself.

Punji sticks

Dig a hole and cover it with sticks and leaves. Simple yet effective.

i am in the army of an european country

on summer we spent a month in the countryside

i had the following hallucinations when sleeping:

>thinking colonel had entered my tent, i stayed paralyzed in the bed

>confusing trees with people in the darkness, so i stayed "at ease" thinking it was the captain

>literally thinking my tent had flied to another place, and going out to see if it was real (i did it several times that night)

>tent is at 98% darkness, wake up, think my mates are preparing for an ambush, so i get the gun and put my boots on, to realize 15 minutes later they were sleeping

has anything like you ever happened to you?

is this normal?

What's your favorite sound while your outdoors? Could be an animal, distant thunderstorm, waterfall, waves etc

Pic related for me. I love the haunting call of the Common Loon, particularly the wail. If you're not familiar with their sound, check it out. It's haunting and lovely. https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Common_Loon/sounds

Is /out/ really that based? I mean it has been a while since a really great thread, people focus about tons of gear and even threads about /out/ journeys don't pop up that often.

Other than that we see shit about shtf, music, youtube, food, movies, drugs, fags gone their way etc. That's not really wrong with that per se but it goes away from what /out/ essence means.

And even some of those of spend some time outdoors, many of them seem afraid of it and feel the need for knives and gun fantasies.

Nowadays even /trv/elers go /out/ more than sc/outs

Anyways just to know if someone else feels the same, share your thoughts and preferably share what you have been doing /out/doors.

I will not. Fortunately some anons advice and knowledge are really worthy and makes up for the rest of shit that pollutes the board.

answer is both yes and no
>>

Using the French intensive method under the right circumstances and soil quality it is possible to be self sufficient on 1 acre of land. However sustenance farming is far to complicated to be condensed into a simple infographic.

How high are the chances for an average European to survive some days in a (sub)tropical rainforest? Are the risk of getting lost really that big? Where should one go who wants to do some hiking on his own (or with a buddy); are Brasilia, Malaysia or Nepal good choices?

I always was very interested in the rainforest and since I'm going to go on a world tour, I think about spending some time there.

I think you'll have a harder time with wildlife than navigation. Theres some crazy shit in the rainforest.

Southeastern/Southern Brazil is your best choice, if you have any experience /out/ without much equipment you will be fine, just watch where you sit and lay down, spiders and other poisonous critters love hiding under your stuff and old logs

I would go with the Buck. I feel that the materials used look like they are higher quality & I like the traditional look and function. Others might go with the BG. All personal preference.

Thought on Camelbaks? I'm wanting to do some day hikes close to my area and was looking at getting an Artes 22, does anyone have any others they might recommend? Are they worth buying?
7 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>728052
The Camelbak hydration system is good but their packs are just average. You can just buy the hydration system separately and put it in a better pack, that way you get the best of both worlds.
>>
Recomend getting a cleaning kit around £9
But really useful, I got both my camelpaks for £5 each (both ex military) from my local army surplus

They are excellent for carrying beer around and drinking without the cops knowing. Mine is almost always full, well, half full.

Are there any south jersey sc/out/s? Where do you like to go to be /out/?

Normally I go around Wharton state forest, plenty of different trails and what not to hike around on, can't say I find it that interesting though just flat Sandy land but that's what you get South Jersey, normally I go to PA or NY to do my camping. I plan on going canoeing down the Mullica river for a few days this spring, plenty of spots to pull over and camp

Central jerseyfag here (it does exist). I don't do much in south jersey ever, though a bunch of my friends just hiked the batona trail. I'm usually driving up to NY to go hiking but I'm at sourland mountain pretty much every week
