posted before i read link. moderately less aggravated, but skeptical. how high do they plan on cleaning? how much of a dent is 8800 lbs going to make?

not that it matters to me. i'll stick to my local 13-14k peaks, thanks.

I used to have a very romantic perception of Everest ever since I was a kid in grade school who read Into Thin Air and saw the imax film Everest. Then I started reading about the traffic jams, the garbage strewn everywhere, and the shit piles frozen all over the place. No matter where people go, they leave their mark, for better or for worse. There's a lot of other peaks out there to summit, with a lot less people on them.

So, I gained like 7 pound of weight since I started hiking daily and backpacking. Been going on for 2.5~ months- lots of uphill mountainy hikes.

I understand that weight can fluctuate a lot, but this is weighting after not eating and drinking before bed and shitting everywhere in the morning.

Is there a reason for this? My diet has not really changed. Could it be muscle? But that would not make as much sense.

Went from like 152~ to 160~

Muscle is more dense than fat.
>>
>>758245
Might be partially that reason; I have doubts that much muscle could be gained in that time. Though, I kind of started from nothing.

Remember when Spenny tried to gain weight by working out everyday? He lost
>>
>>758250
It is more surprising that you have only gained that much in muscle mass. You may have trimmed off fat to balance it out though.

Is it possible for a poorfag to join expeditions and the like?
Let's say too much reading and shit has been a huge influence.

Is there a way I could join a research expedition or something?

Or possibly work with one and get paid some?

Don't eat the brain fluid, or spinal fluid, and you should be okay, if the liver has white specks on it. don't eat the liver, some people throw out the meat all together, up to you desu.
>>
Just cook it and make sure its cooked and its all fine, I mean if it has maggots in it then throw it away but thats common sense.
>>
>>757524
Why would it have maggots if he's just shot it, anon is not going to be eating carrion.

OP,

- Wash your hands well
- Cook the meat thoroughly to avoid Tularemia
- Don't eat the offal

Hello /out/siders.

I was hoping to find a spider "expert" capable of identifying 3 spiders found outside my home in Bakersfield, California. I often find them inside too.

Also, should I be killing these spiders or placing them outside away from my (I've done both, depending on my mood)?

Another thing: These spiders are relatively easy to catch.

Any tips and tricks for long term stays in the wild?

I like camping and all, but I really don't know what i'd do for any period lasting more than a month, let alone a week. Curious to see what resources you guys have for things such like sustainable food, durable shelter, and various other quality of life items made from scratch.

Realtalk, you'll probably die on account of that whole food thing.

There's a reason you don't see a lot of hunter gatherers these days.
>>
Totally depends on the environment and what you're willing to do. Hunting? Fishing? What kind of supplies are you willing/able to start with.

One could easily stash a month worth of food somewhere then live there for the month.

What is your goal?
>>
>>757317
Pretty much this.

Good luck maintaining a food source in the wild, hunting isn't as easy as it looks and growing food in the wild is uhhh pretty wild.

I'm starting an outdoor job where I probably wont be able to take a shit until I'm done. I'll be working from 8a-5p with a painting crew outdoors. I worked a job like this before and it was horrible on my bowels and psyche.

Any tips? Do I just "hold it in" and pray?

Smoke a couple cigs and drink a big coffee in the morning. Then give yourself an hour to drop a deuce before going to work.

I can't stand having to take a shit at work. It normally means a gas station or 7-11 bathroom. I will just prarie dog that motherfucker if possible.

You could only hike trails that you can cover in one day this way, which usually suck
>won't even need tents
I think you are talking about sleeping in a car
Car camping is often done with tents, you park the car and set up a tent.
Sleeping in a tent>sleeping in a small car

Ok guys, I'm in a market for bivvies/hammocks. And I saw this on the kickstarter.

Now I know kickstarter has a long history of not delivering, but they promise a 1.2kg hammock that can turn into a bivvy. That's as little as Snugpak Ionosphere. Opinions?

Would seriously consider buying, but it's a kickstarter so probably won't happen.

The number one thing I look for in kickstarters is the bios / qualifications of the management team.

I did 2 grams of powdered shrooms and then went mountain biking with a friend; they came on alot faster than expected and the whole bike ride was pretty trippy.

The next day we did the same route again while straight minded; notable differences were that while tripping the path was pink rather than brown, the trees had grey leaves with slightly pink tints rather than completely pink leaves; and one area which looked extremely creepy and dead while cycling through it was actually pretty regularly and pleasant the next day.

My preferred way to trip though is in my room listening to Alan Watts or Ajahn Brahm giving lectures on youtube. The outdoors are too dangerous incase you bump into people and they get you arrested for sounding like a mad man.

a month ago I was tripping with my brother and we were in our local outdoor woods/park at 10.30pm. We were listening to the birds (owls were hooting like mad which was unusual), when I was approached by a security guard that was locking up. We acted really awkward when we left and it made us both super paranoid for the rest of the trip that he had radio'd through to the police and they were coming to raid us.

That was my first and only bad trip I've ever had; I learned my lesson about going /out/ in the city while tripping. I've tripped 5 times so far. 4 while double dropping acid and once on mushrooms. I'm planning another trip in 2 weeks where I'll listen to lectures on materialism and look at fractals.
>>
>>754414
Nice man, my first trip my friends drove me around town and my second time was at a beach hotel at night and that was other worldly. But by outdoors I mean like deeep in the woods where no one would find you, looking up at the stars at night and just being fucked out of your tree in another dimension.
