I always wondered how jet engine work. Maybe that is obviously but I don't understand.
Pressure distribute in all directions with the same force. Why turbine rotate compressor and not otherwise or in another words why it rotates and air flow in one direction whet it press whit the same force in both?
>>8057382
>why it rotates and air flow in one direction whet it press whit the same force in both?
Because engineers did like 500 different engines and then 1 actually worked and they have just spent the last hundred years making it better and better.

How do I learn to sketch graphs?
for example, how would you know that y=sinx/x looked like pic related?
The main things that characterise graphs are axis intercepts and the turning points.
>>8057375
Well, first you know its probably sinusoidal. Then, think of the graph of 1/x. Try plotting them together.
What is the value of y at x=0?
Why don't we have space portals yet, /sci/?

What is asthma, and how do inhalers help?
>>8056860
As someone who has asthma and have had it forever I can explain.
Whenever I consume something my body does not like then for some reason my breathing holes close from the inside and I start taking in only like 10% of the oxygen I would take originally, making me have to breath in really fast which then tires me out and shit.
Inhalers have a magic dust that make the holes open up again but also have the side effect of increasing blood pressure.
>>8056864
i got asthma too, magic dust? really nigger?

I don't know what it is man what do you want me to say? I study math, not chemistry.

Well its just means that (ab)c = a(bc)
As you can guess, it's quite nice property to have
Consider addition. (A+B)+C=A+(B+C) is a statement of associativity. On the left hand side, A and B are associated with each other, where on the right, B and C are associated with each other. At least that has always been my interpretation.
How do you deal with the inevitable heat death of the universe?
also welcome

Independent people should just buy sci-hub related domain names and point it to their servers. That way it becomes practically impossible to block and shut down. You can make free dns-level subdomains here by the way: https://freedns.afraid.org
>>8056597
What does Elsevier primarily publish?
I mostly read math and a very small amount of physics and I don't think I've ever even seen a book published by them.
Chasing down nerds on pirate bay is pretty sad practice for a textbook company though.
Technology has not hit its peak, VR just in its infancy, ~20 years ago everything was fucking black and white, in the twilight zone of humanities fate of self destruction or infinite progression.

You're not born in the worst time, though.
You're born in humanity's adolescence. The time is now to take your legacy to the stars. Information previously only acceptable to the sons of noblemen is now available with a simple search inquiry.
Now, anon, is the time the seeds empires spanning star systems are planted. Don't be sad that you aren't a denizen of the distant future. Be glad that you are a pioneer for it.

I can barely sleep nowadays, theres so much suspense towards the human race, I want to know if we fuck ourselves up or not.

I doubt we'll be doing anything related to that in our lifetime, our energy efficiency is fucking terrible, just picture this - the fastest speeds we can reach is by dropping bombs and riding shockwaves.
let's say I want to measure something inside a population
what is the number of people I need to survey ?
bout tree fiddy
30.
All of them.
why can't we just scan each atom of the human body and log the scanned atoms as unique bit patterns and then send the bit patterns over the internet and then at the receiving end use the bit patterns to move matter in a way so that it corresponds to the original human body?
Because you are stupid

Why is this bad news? It's being trained to answer routine questions by looking at a dataset of questions that have been asked and answered correctly in the past. If anything this will help streamline education by removing all of that shitty redundancy bogging us down.

I think the main concern is that a lot of PhD students need this supplementary income to keep them going. If the typical TA team was 9 to start with it might now be accomplished by 3 who get the same pay as before leaving most PhD students with no fall back option.
