Does it also have something to due with ridiculous amount of energy due to short wavelength?

Every star that burns, every planet whose orbit is slowly decaying, every breath you take and calorie you metabolize, brings the universe closer and closer to the point when the entropy is maximized.

Organized movement of any kind ceases, and nothing ever happens again.

There is no escape.

No matter how magnificent life in the universe becomes or how advanced, the slow increase in entropy cannot be stopped.

The universe will eventually die.

The heat death may never happen.

Gravity may prevent it or the expansion of space if it expands fast enough.

Also even if it does happen it won't be for an extremely long time and there's literally nothing you can do about it. All black holes need to decay first. Stop worrying about it.
>>
>>7724476
You are so stupid. Just because it will be a long time is trivial. Think of how much time passed before you were born. That is nothing compared to the next iterationg of life that has achieved immortality.

What would happen if you injected watermelon DNA into a Lion?
24 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
>>7723910
Obviously every organism contains the same DNA, so the lion's body would just look at the DNA and do a reverse transcription of the contents to figure out where to add or remove methyl groups on its own genes. Then it would grow into a watermelon over time. That's evolution, you are what you eat.
>>
A better question would be, how long would it take of artificial selection to turn a lion into a watermelon plant.

millions of years?

how would you even do that?
>>
>>7723919
Feed the population only watermelon, and make sure their entire environment is just watermelon trees and shrubs.

Eventually everything would even out.

"red equals" = f(x) = SQRT(X^2)
"green equals" = g(x) = 4 - 2x.
(in both cases, "x" refers to the value of the expression on the left of the equals operator)
>>
You're wrong,
unless you're sloppy and by '1+1' you mean 'the number after 1', for which '2' is an abbreviation and then the second line is not the logical equality.

In a predicate logic with equality '=', you have
[math]\forall x.\, x=x[/math]
by definition of '='
and thus, for every b in your domain of discouse,
[math]b=b[/math]
as an almost trivial theorem.

If you set up the natural numbers, usually you say 1 as short for S0, where S and 0 are actually primitive, and then 2 for S1. Let us write this as
1:=S0
2:=S1
Then you set up addition '+' recursively via pic related, so that
1+1
which is abbreviation for
S0+S0
reduces to
S(S0+0)
which reduces to
S(S0)
which is
S1
which is
2
Thus
1+1=2 is a theorem in this theory.

Again, if you're sloppy and write n+1 for Sn (which is provably equal), then you may write the definition of 2 as 2:=1+1 and then they would not be equal.

Here is an overview of the axioms, but of course there are many formulations of this basic structure

A cool constructive one involving mostly universal constructions is
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Initial_algebra#Example
(but I just mention it because it's sweet and generalizes to so many other data structures.)

6. We have [math]\displaystyle p(x) = g^2(x)f(x)[/math]. So [math]\displaystyle p'(x) = 2g(x)g'(x)f(x) + g^2(x)f'(x)[/math] which implies [math]\displaystyle p'(-1) = 2g(-1)g'(-1)f(-1) + g^2(-1)f'(-1) = 2(3)(5)(4) + (3)^2(1/3) = 123[/math]

Does anyone else find existence weird? The fact that we exist and interact with people who all have a different vision of reality scares the fuck out of me. There's so little that we know and life is uncertain. How does /Sci/ rationalize this?

So my Ochem final is in three hours, and I don't know jack shit. Though, I've already taken my differential geometry and analysis finals, and I aced, and I'm good at physics, so this should be very easy, in comparison. It's chem, for christ's sake

Anyone got any pointers/tips? I need to learn Stereochemistry, Nomenclature of alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, Sn1, Sn2, E1, E2, Addition in alkenes, addition in alkynes, and their respective regiochemistry or whatever it's called. Also, conjugated pi bond mechs, and redox mechs. Finally, NMR, GC/MS, and IR.

I should just barely make it, I think
