What does /sci/ think about IQ tests, are they a reliable way of rating someones intelligence?
11 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
Yes. Unless you're a small IQ brainlet. Then you'll shitpost about IQ and bitch about people with high IQs.
>>
I.Q. is a statistical means for smart people to compare dick size.
>>
>>7800655
I see it that way.
It is a measure of how well you could answer questions related to "logic, pattern recognition, spatial visualization, etc" compared to other people. It may or may not fit your definition of intelligence.
It is not 100% reliable, it does not guarantee you anything, some tests are shitty, you'll do better on some days, etc
But it does measure something and it can help you learn about yourself.

Hey /sci/,

Where can I get books? Links in the sticky don't work anymore, those fuckers shut them all down. ebookee.org is the only website I can find.

Cheers

How did you force your self to learn math /sci/?
The concepts seem very simple but I can't make my self remember any of it knowing that it's probably the most useless information I can put into my brain.
Remembering some stupid fact about some random celebrity can still be used in normal conversations later on.
Remembering how to work with polynomial equation will never have any application after I finish the class.
How did you trick yourself into remembering this stuff?

Eat some glycine. Shit's good for memotizing(might be a placebo effect, though it works to me)
I'm not into math myself, it's just a trick for your memory.
P.S glycine is not dangerous at all, any dose will do.

I'm being serious.

When was the last time you went to the store and needed to multiplying radicals or simplify a polynomial equation?

Open up your smoke detector and swallow the americium.

Suppose you have multiple usb ports in a bus. You must connect them parallel, so that if one fails the other will work.
So the voltage on all the ports is the same, but the current will be lower.
Is a battery charges like a capacitor? The higher the current the faster it charges?
Why is there optimal voltage on batteries?
It has been a while since i studied physics in school so please explain this to me

batteries. are. not. capacitors.

they use chemical process.

batteries have a resistance and are a voltage source.

plz google basic electronics

I said similar to capacitor in the sense that the higher the current the faster it charges.
Maybe i didn't explain it clearly enough but still...

How can we help more people understand the benefits of Common Core and teach that a deeper understanding of how numbers can be broken up is unfathomably more efficient than memorizing a fact like "8+5=13" or applying an algorithm?
34 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>>7801488
Remove the association of Common Core being a package deal with the Arts. Many people dislike common core because they perceive certain biases in the more subjective subjects taught.

Also making the questions grammatically correct and make more sense wouldn't hurt.
>>
>>7801488
That picture is so cancerous. Kids do this on their own if they're smart. They don't need you to shove it down their throats with confusing questions. I do this in my head and I didn't grow up on that common core garbage.
>>

>a deeper understanding of how numbers can be broken up
yeah... in base 10.

>deep understanding
This is just a gimmick to do quick arithmetic and that's it.

Try the NEC simulator. There are many variations and also front ends.

Get the ARRL antenna handbook. It is loaded with useful designs and calculations meant to be put into practice.

Any classified material from the inoffical apolo 18-20 Missions would be very nice. Ultra High Resolution (unedited) would be rewarded with global chaos. :-)

I mean it's not the first time Planet X has been hypothesises it exist.

Seriously are people so casual about astronomy or something?

The year is 2084. Most countries still exist in their current form, with a broad reshuffling in the Middle East, Africa, and parts of South America. There are many more countries that have active and well-funded space programs, each concentrating on a specific aspect of space exploration and technology.

As an program architect in the United Nations Office for Outer Space, you are part of the team that is constructing the world's first global space program. This agency will draw upon the strengths of each country to assemble a system that will unite all of Earth's people unto a common mission.

As UNSC architects, it's your duty to assign a role to each country. Possible roles include launch authority, power system, AEVA (augmented extravehicular activity) technologies), space living, science curators, navigation, etc. Choose wisely, for the survival of the human race depends on the assignments that will best profit off of nation's capabilities and specialties.

I refuse to be a globalist Jew. The impotent farce that is the UN will be dissolved soon anyway.

America builds the rockets and most of the mission architecture. Europe will be in charge of research and planning.

>human race depends on the assignments
Really? In that case you certainly do not want "assistance" from a huge number of nations. Middle East will be reshuffled, yes, by nuclear carpet bombing. Terrorists will be everywhere. You have to be more selective about who you want to bring in to the space arc you are constructing.

A 4th dimension is just one more axis perpendicular to the other axes. X, Y, Z, W.
