How does one into Real Anaylsis?

This is my first semester of taking this course and I literally have no idea what is going on. I excelled in all of my Calc classes as well as Linear algebra but from being in Real Analysis for a week its like learning a different language.

Is real analysis supposed to be extremely difficult right off the bat? Does it get easier?

Does anybody have any tips?

My advice: Don't be a brainlet. If that pic was too hard for you, you might be wrong in math. Every frashman should see this as trivial.
>>
>>7800264
It's hard at first since it's likely you've never seen something like it before. It would probably be the first time you encounter the true rigour of mathematics.

But it gets easier once you get the hang of it

What's a cooler field? Algebraic Topology or Differential Geometry?

I prefer algebraic geometry and differential topology.
>>
>>7799887
Algebraic Geometry scares me, seems like it's predominately related to ring theory, which I wasn't a fan of, Algebraic Topology is predominately homological algebra which is a cool as fuck field.
>>
>>7799892
Rings are dual to affine schemes, so ring theory and algebraic geometry are basically the same thing. It's interesting though, because you can reinterpret properties of rings as geometric properties. For instance, product rings are the same thing as disconnected spaces.

What's the best way to get practice reading other people's code and to get the most from it? Any particular code bases that are best suited for the task, i.e. that are well written, so as to internalize best practices, and with enough documentation that I'd be able to get going at a decent pace?

By doing it. Everyone has different styles of writing and the more you read the more you will be able to understand.

I think that he won't be able to do it in his life time but one day we will get there, it is obvious.

Btw, there is no majority who think the moon landing was faked. The only people are the 3 guys who browse /x/ and their friends.

Statistically (based off the average 2015 US life expectancy) he has until about 2052 to get to Mars. With life-extending treatments that he'd easily be able to afford / get in line early for, I think he's definitely going to get his wish of dying on Mars. Terraforming obviously won't be achieved this century.

If you want to view fainter objects like galaxies and nebulae then I would recommend a reflector. More optics for the money. I'll find something for you.

43 KB,
What is the explanation for space being infinite? It's said to go on forever, but if it goes on forever, that means it never stops, meaning there are infinite solar systems like our own. Then again if we were to say it stops at one point, what happens? Is it like an invisible wall that you just "hit"?

My personal theory is that there is an end, but it's not so much an end as it is an endless loop. Let's say, for example, you exit the galaxy from the "top". You just come in through the bottom. Pic related.

the "end" of the universe is the furthest point light (or matter if you want to make that the boundary) has reached since the universe began.

How i can learn a little about control theory before my semester starts? Should i grab a textbook and start working on examples or should i read it first? I almost never use textbooks when i am studying, i go over my notes and when i get stuck i ask a friend for help and it always worked.

If a star was instantly split in two down the middle and the two parts was moved a kilometer away from each other, what would happen?

One kilometer is nothing in star size but I thought the idea was interesting.

Can we use summation methods to get a value when limits converges to 0?

an example would be
[eqn] \prod_{p=0}^{\infty} e^{-p} = \sqrt[12]{e} [/eqn]

instead of just 0, this shows you how big the zero is.
