I too want to know about this; I have been thinking about talking to my doctor about how unfocused and unmotivated I am.
Literally taking a year to complete each level of math at this rate because I keep dropping out of my class. It's not hard its just that I've always been a procrastinator.
Last year my best friend turned into a veggie and I've been unable to continue school. I get anxiety because I know I have HW, studying, a test is coming up but I just sit there not able to do any of it.

I need some help with a physics question I can't seem to figure out. The question is: Two trailers, A and B, is beeing held by a rope. They stand still. The mass of A is 1 kg and the mass of B is 3 kg. A spring is in between the two trailers. The rope is then cut, and the trailers move in a straight line away from each other with almost no friction. Trailer A have gotten a speed of 1.2 m/s. How much energy is stored in the spring when its given that 60% of the energy goes over to kinetic energy to the trailers.

In special relativity, if you have a traveler moving at a velocity v and an observer at rest, can you treat it as the traveler at rest and the observer at moving at velocity -v? In the first case, the traveler would measure proper time, but in the second case the observer would measure proper time?

Yes, but keep in mind that since they are both in inertial frames, they will BOTH measure proper time in BOTH cases. They will both see time passing slower for the other person compared to their own time- the proper time for themselves is evaluated with v = 0, so the integral is just coordinate time, whereas the other person will have a nonzero v and thus a lesser proper time.

This is a topological notion, not something you'd see in a set theory book.
Closed is not defined to mean "not open". A set in a given topology T on a set X is closed if it's complement in a given topology is open. The fact that a set can be both open and closed is trivial since the X and the empty set both must be open sets by definition of a topology, and so since they are eachother's complement, they're also both closed.

Topologically speaking, the definition of closed is that its compliment is open. That means any set with an open compliment is closed. So if you have an open set, if its compliment is open then it is also closed. If you have a set that is not open, and its compliment is not open, then it is neither open nor closed. Can you imagine an algorithm that can calculate the status of every major debate, based on rational principles that boil down to the current STRUCTURE of each debate? This algorithm is being developed and put to use in wikidialectics.org, and I think it's a great idea, but it will only become serious when a debate grows big enough. Do you think the system makes sense? Is it worth pursuing?
The current system is this:
Every debate has its own page, and the title of the page is the issue being debated written as a yes/no question. For example, Should suicide be legal? or Does God exist? The software calculates the current answer to the question based on the following algorithm:
- YES: At least one sustained argument for, and no sustained arguments against.
- NO: At least one sustained argument against, and no sustained arguments for.
- MAYBE: Neither YES nor NO.
By editing a page, it's possible to add arguments for and against, and objections to the arguments and to other objections. The software marks each argument and objection as SUSTAINED or REFUTED based on the following rules:
- SUSTAINED: No sustained objections.
- REFUTED: At least one sustained objection.
As new arguments and new objections start with no sustained objections (indeed, with no objections at all), they start out as sustained. This allows the software to calculate the status of every other argument and objection in the debate, and ultimately the current conclusion of the debate.
This is a bit like http://www.riyarchy.com/, but more flexible and with the whole "calculate the conclusion" feature.
