I was pretty depressed for 2 months until I started visiting sci regugarly, learning math and forcing myself to watch a ton of pop sci video's. The latter really helps to get all the negative thoughts out.

It's a meme that started on /qa/, but it's also not a meme in the sense that it's just vernacular and most people mean that X is shit when they say "X is a meme".
