GOD FUCKING DAMNIT.
I hate when stepper rings get stuck on filters.
I generally only use my cpl on my 20mm, but today I need it on my 85mm...guess what isn't coming off.
What little niggling annoyances have gotten to you recently?
WD-40, Luke!
>>2823247
Aerokroil son, aerokroil.
Try palming your filter off. Twist with your palm on the front of the ring instead of squeezing the sides, and thus potentially bending the ring enough to cause it to bind.
Hey /p/.
I got these black squiggles on my lens, but I have no idea what to do.
Help?

Based on how sharp the objects are I would suggest that this is actually debris on the sensor, rather than the lens. Get a decent sensor cleaning kit from a local camera store and watch some Youtube videos on sensor cleaning.

I switched out the lens for another lens. The marks only appear on one lens. I'm fairly certain it's the lens.

I'm wondering why he releases all his videos in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS like a special snowflake.
I'm hoping there won't be too much wankery, his videos are interesting but you can almost hear him mentally jerking off whenever he opens his mouth.
>>2823140
True, but he's done more than you'll ever hope to do.

now, this is what i call edgy. Stfu, there will be goddamn Titarenko. Who cares about all capital letters.

I'm at this museum with my teacher here and all I want to do is take pictures. But there is a rule that no cameras are allowed. Why is that??
so they can sell posters of the art and shit, and you can't take a photo of the artwork, then print your own posters and shit you fucking retard

Also, dubs of truth
Hey guys, I've been looking for the Nikon d3300, but the fact that it's only 11 af points got me triggered, I don't consider myself as a n00b, but also not a professional, also, I've been looking for the Tamron 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC Lens so... Any thoughts? pls help
>>2821094
> I've been looking for the Nikon d3300, but the fact that it's only 11 af points got me triggered
So I guess you're going to pay more to get more...? Get a Nikon D7200 or D750?
Or buy a Sony, Pentax, Panasonic, Fuji, Olympus or whatever has sufficiently good AF for you.

It is a cheap zoom lens. You either require both cheap and...

Gear thread.
Also, get a K-50 if you want a better camera for the same money. And don't bother with superzoom lenses, they are shit without exceptions. Just use the usual kit lens and whatever kit telezoom you can get in a bundle.
>>2821094
You're better off with the 2 kit lens for this guy.
When I bought my d3200, it came with a 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 and 55-200mm f/4-5.6.
I mean, they ARE cheap lenses but, as the other anon said, a superzoom would be even crappier and you would be wasting your money.
I'd buy a faster lens like the Nikkor prime 35mm(nifty fifty equvalent) 1.8G instead. They're a nice lens for $200.
I have a d610 with better lenses but my knockaround combo is that d3200/35mm.
My only LITTLE regret is that d3200...

This is the thread for all of your stupid film questions, and to post your film snapshits without flushing them down the RPToilet.
It's OK to ask about film gear in this thread.

Which is the most affordable film right now? I mean the one you can go to a shop and just buy. I've been using Fujicolor c200
>>2820365
That's such a regional-specific question. There's no point in asking that unless you provide more details. Last place I lived had a store that sold bulk rolled Kodak 200 stuff for $2/roll. Place I live now has a store that sell some Lomo c41 for $2.50 a roll.

Provia 400 is pretty amazing film for snapshitting as well.
Would love to shoot it in MF.
I hope your E100VS has held up better than mine though.

I really want a fisheye now, those are cool shots. I work in abstract, so I reckon it would be a boon. What do you think?
is he still alive?

Obviously I care at least a little bit, which is why I created this thread. I'm probably not alone.
Hi /p/,
just recently I undertook my first attempt at photography (in Milan). Id like honest advice for a newbie. If this thread is not allowed sage the fuck out of it.
I used a canon EOS 350d with a stock lens (shit) and a free trial for lightroom.

Hi there /p/eeps,
an acquaintance of mine just asked me to shoot his wedding (about 8 hours in total), specifying he won't need any pp since his wife-to-be is a graphic designer and would do it herself.
How much would you charge?
Damn bro, 8 hours is a long-ass wedding
>since his wife-to-be is a graphic designer and would do it herself.
Run away and don't look back
>>2827571
>8 hours
that's extremely fucking long. No single person is going to be able to capture an 8 hour event, that's at minimum two people and thousands of dollars of gear + skilled labor, unless they're looking for mcdonalds quality.
>real photographers don't use lens caps
What did he mean by this?
>>2827497
A lense cap is not a photographic tool.
It doesn't aid your photography.
It will regularly impede your photography.
It's as much use to a photographer as the box the lense came in.
If you're carrying your camera for any reason beyond simply transporting it from one storage location to another, it has no useful function.
>>2827501
Doesnt protecting your lens from dirt, dust and scratches serve a useful photographic purpose?
You never have a cap on your lens?
I never quite understood his point, I mean I'm not a pro but what kind of shit are pros shooting where they immediately get to a job site and the 5 seconds (at most) it takes to get the lens cap and reversed hood off ruins the shoot?
What's up /p/,
I currently own a Sony Alpha 5100 with standard kit lens and use it mostly for videography.
I'm looking for a new DSLR/DSLM with good video features, can you guys recommend anything for me?
Low light is very nice to have, since I like filming at night time or capturing the stars. Also high fps would be nice for stylistic video edits.
I edit the footage in an artsy way, check out Frank Yang on YouTube to get a better idea.
I thought about maybe getting an Alpha7S or a GH4.
Pic kinda unrelated, fixed my SEL P 1650 after it fell.

Don't go for the GH4 if you care about low light, Ideally you should get an a7s2, but an a6300 could be closer to your budget - if you care about 120fps 1080p. Otherwise a7s
>>2826887
Thanks for your feedback,I didnt think about the A6300,I might check it out since its a lot cheaper than both A7's
I recently made this short film for a local contest, and I was wondering what some of the photography experts could tell me about the quality of the picture and such on this video. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I'm heading to Barcelona in a couple of weeks and taking my fuji X-Q1 and wondered if anyone has any advice to avoid the pickpockets. Ways of carry when in use, ways of carry when not in use etc.
>>2826125
I don't know where you are from, but try not to look as a foreigner (no sandals and socks), neither act like one of them (pointing at every think like you didn't saw a statue in your life).
Be extremely cautious on the metro, that's their nest.
The more people there are, the more likely there is one of them.
If someone gets close to you or "touchy", take distance.
But this is just general /adv/, I don't know why ask this here.
It doesn't matter if you look like a tourist or not just look AWARE. Don't put it down anywhere anyone can grab, keep hold of it, pocket it or piut it out of sight. If you have a bag put the arm strap under the table/chair leg or your leg through it, that kinda stuff. Don't let anyone invade your personal space. Just be vigilant basically.
I'm a white guy who lived in BCN for 4 years, never got robbed once but seen countless (maybe a 100?) thefts. Most i've seen have been bags (women) and name brand mobile phones (men and women). iPods, cameras, etc are also easy pickings.
