>If you spend $400 on 36 exposure Fuji Superi 400 ISO packages
>You would have spent only $0.2952 with the Fujifilm XPro1
There is a 99.9262% decrease in price when comparing 36 exposure Fuji Superi 400 ISO packages to 36 photos on a Fujifilm XPro1.
* The XPro1's battery is the Fujifilm NP-W126 Li-Ion Rechargeable Battery, rated for 8.7Wh (Watt-hour).
* In 2011, the average price in the US for electricity was 12 cents per Kilowatt-hour.
* $0.12 = 1kWh to $0.00012 = Wh to $0.001044 = 8.7 Wh
* $0.001044 to fill up the XPro1's battery
* XPro1 is rated for 300 photos per charge
* $0.001044 / 300 = $0.00000348 per photo
* $6.11 (converted from £4.29) for 36 exposures of Fuji Superia 400 ISO on a discount films website.
* $6.11 / 36 = $0.169722... per photo
Seventeen cents per photo on film vs 3 ten-thousandths of a cent per photo on the Fujifilm XPro1.
If you spend $400 on 36 exposure Fuji Superi 400 ISO packages, you would have spent only $0.2952 with the Fujifilm XPro1. This leaves you with $399.7048 to but adapted lenses and accessories, without even considering the price of doing so for film cameras.
The XPro1 can be found used for under $300.

Okay.
Good math but just get a Sony A6000.

Also you forgot depreciation.
Also also, your math would be marked incorrect in any engineering, math or physics course for including that many decimal places. Learn to round.

That happens to me even when I'm home because my postlady is a lazy bitch who'd rather write a note than go up some damn stairs.
Also, that note says 4/6 '16. I guess the poor fellow misses Summer.

Yup.
At my old apartment i busted the mail guy way too many times stuffing just a note with "you weren't at home, your package is in the post office", without even attempting to ring the doorbell to check if someone would be home.
Luckly my new palce is slightly better, though mail serivce overall has been going down to shit over the years.
Here's a thread for people new to photography to ask the most basic questions without fear of judgement. The kind of questions that /p/ seems to put its nose up and refuses to answer in any other thread.
There is no stupid photography related questions here. What exactly is aperture? How does exposure time affect the shot? Any recommendations about gear? What can I do to improve this photo?
Any questions like these are ok, so ask what you would like to know and hopefully there will be some more experienced photographers willing to help out those of us who have only recently taken up the hobby.
If annons post photos, please only constructive criticisms

How do you actually go shooting? Are you planning beforehand what area to go to? Are you doing designated photography tours or do you just carry your camera with you in your day to day life? And are you aligning yourself to lightning conditions like the golden hour?
How do you do it, /pee/? My higher function prevents me from taking it easy.

Depending on what system you have.
I tend to carry my film rangefinder every time I go for a walk, so if there is something interesting I take a shot.

Gear thread asshole.
In my experience AFII is the right choice.
Sharp as a razor like most 18-55, great stabilizer, fast and silent autofocus and I like the locking weird thing they added. They are all pretty much the same thing, optics are just slightly better in the ugly-ass, pear-shaped AFII in my opinion.

I'm going to a family wedding this weekend and found out that there are only 2 family friends (not pros or paid) shooting the wedding. Some of my immediate family and grandparents have told me that I should bring my camera which I don't have an issue with but don't know what the proper etiquette would be in this situation. Can anyone help me out?

Leave your camera at home.
Why work for free to record the event? Are you not there as a guest of the bride and groom to enjoy the event?
I usually don't equate joy with being forced to lug my camera to a formal event.
Just be like the guy in your pic and bring an RZ, a tripod, and nothing but Portra 160. Say it's what the pros use, and if people don't like it they can leave you alone. Then go get shitfaced at the bar.
>Anon, these photos are taking too long!
>look, the camera says "Professional" on it, what more do you want?

Most photographers will recommend you to be an ass to your family, because it would be an insult to them to be asked to work for free.
In my opinion it's completely up to your own judgement though, fuck etiquette.
could machines ever replace photographers? I mean they could be programmed to do good event photos and such, but more than that?

She's as good as every other famous street photographer from the 60s, she shot thousands of rolls though so out of 150,000+ shots it isn't that wild that she'll have a few hundred amazing ones

I already have an APSC camera from Nikon D7200.
I have some D lenses like the 50mm 1.8d, 85mm 1.8d, 20mm 2.8d.
Then I got an used Nikon F3.
I was expecting some omgfucking quality.
Bought Fuji Velvia 100 ISO film, then took some photos with all the lenses during daylight.
Paid for some company to develop the film. See photos and the quality is garbage. Nowhere near the huge dynamic range from Nikon D7200.
Also there is so much grain. Film is really disapointing.
Is Film a meme?

Film looks good. Digital doesn't look as good.
Also it depends on how the film was scanned or printed.
Slide film is known for having a narrow dynamic range. Use print film if you want dynamic range. Black and white has the most I think.
Go medium format or large format for image quality.
i'd rather take /p/ abuse than having tea with grandma
