Old one is about to reach limit.
Starting the thread with something I have tried over the last week. Lots of us own the x100//S// but want to use Classic Chrome as a starting point for our RAWs. By using an EXIF editor I have been able to gain CC on my X100S. It seems very stable and super easy to use. Can this be done with the XPRO1/X100??
Results below.

Hello /p/ I need some advice on this photo. I have the before and after image in the comments. I took this photo on canon t3i and edited it via Gimp (since photoshop is too pricey for me right now)
I wanted to know if you could see the changes I have made or if it just looks like I touched the colors up a bit.
Thank you!

Anyone wanna do a thread where you give feedback by doing the edits yourself and then reposting? Like if you have editing and/or cropping suggestions, then make the edits and repost.
Here's one to get it goin.

If you're going to have an editing thread, you need it to be a raw thread. Editing shitty compressed jpgs copied from the internet is retarded.

Hey /p/ , I'm currently in college studying photography and I'm working on making a deck of cards based on film/TV/game characters. I'm working with a team of makeup artists, drag queens and models to re-create movie characters, but I'm really struggling coming up with ideas for who to use. I know not all the films are great but I'm trying to find things we can re-create on a human body or face, and some people will recognise.
If you have any suggestions please comment, I'm really struggling. Pic kinda related, another piece of photography...

I've only got movie characters so far because going through TV and game characters is taking a fuck ton of time and I can't find any that fit :<
Plus, most franchises have movies anyways so they're more likely to be from a film

How do you become a good photographer and start getting gigs? I'm learning as much as I can, but I'd like to get to eventually doing photoshoots and lightroom editing.
Also when you see photographers book a shoot with a hot model, how do the logistics of that work? Does the photographer pay the model and then the photographer has rights to the images? When people book a specific photographer that they really want, does the photographer get paid?
How do models and photographers get paid?

>How do you become a good photographer and start getting gigs?
Depends wildly on what sort of gigs you're talking about. Weddings? Fancy parties? Corporate events? Runway shows? Advertising photography? etc. Be more specific.

i'm gonna get the lead out and just ask you - are you very new to photography in general? how long have you been doing it?
How do you store/organise your photos?
negatives go in this binder, as do contact sheets
prints generally go back into one of my old paper boxes of the same size/type, which i have organized loosely by location/topic/year/whatever else strikes my fancy. some prints go into the binder too t b h

It dosen't need to be a 10/10 masterpiece. It just has to be an early work you're proud of for some reason.
I took this photo a couple of years ago while i was 18, I had just moved to my own apartment to a new city and had just picked up photography as a hobby.

Im a super noob and am trying to learn to post process my photos. I've got Lightroom and Google Nik. Do I use exclusively one or the other or do I do some parts in Lightroom and some in Nik? How do I get started on learning all of this stuff? There seems like a lot to learn.

I'm not trying to be facetious, but it all depends on what you want to do. They are complimentary programs. There is some overlap, but they do different things.
Of the two, I'd say Lr is more foundational. Learn to use it first. Then start trying to incorporate Nik once you've got a handle on it.
>>2869036
>i need to get somewhere
>i've got a pick up truck and a road bike
>which one should i use?
Your question's too vague. Start learning Lightroom. That'll give you a handle on developing a workflow, learning to process raw files, exporting, etc. Nik can do some powerful stuff (especially with B&W), but it's more of a specialized set of tools.
What do you think about my job ?

The best light is usually right during/after dawn, and right before/during sunset. Shooting at mid day (10am-3pm) will usually lead to flat bland photos.
Try to keep distractions out of your frame.
Learn about the rule of thirds and try to work with it until you can learn to go beyond it.
