Who here's been in a confrontation before over a shot they took?
I was shooting in Times Square today when a woman and her daughter walked into my frame just as I shot.
Click click click (fucking A6000 shutter).
She turns around and her eyes dart from me to her daughter (who was about 15 as I later found out, but could have easily passed for 18)
Then she screams "You pervert!" and comes charging at me. Everyone turns around to see what's going on and I try to explain she walked into my frame and I did not intentionally take a photo of her or her daughter.
She goes on and on about how that's bullshit and she "knows my type" (I guess she was calling me a thug) that prey on girls.
I offer to delete the picture, and do so in front of her.
She says she's still calling the cops before her daughter drags her away embarrassed.
Worst part is the crowd started jeering in "You fucking sicko," and "You are disgusting!" without even knowing what's going on.
As someone who generally doesn't film people, but rather buildings, cars and nature...I didn't know how to react...
How would you react in such a situation /p/? Anyone had anything similar happen?

So how willing are you to taking pictures in bad weather? I was at a marathon this last Friday and Saturday.
Friday was nice, clear skies, no wind. Comfortably high 50s/low 60s deg F
Saturday sucked.
Saturday got 40+mph winds and rain started after it got dark. Not heavy rain, but a enough to get camera and lens wet. It was cold too, maybe lower 50s. I felt kinda bad for the Saturday runners that had to wait forever before they could start running.
That was the first time I ever put my camera through any kind of serious weather. Yesterday, I ordered me a large pistol case and silica gel to keep my lenses in a dry place from meow on.

i'm currently comparing my sony rx100m2 vs a pentax K-x, so i can decide if it's worth to buy the pentax for a cheap price (used).
basically i want to see if there's any real merit to it.
and so far i don't see it. the pictures (in JPEG) look 1000x better on the sony. pentax has oversaturated reds, bad white balance and weird contrast. yes i know, SHOOT RAW, but if even snapshots are already worse why would i put up with the cam?

I started a thread a few months ago asking for help on taking pictures with a Rollei that my Grandfather left behind. I just wanted to share some of the better results from my first roll of film. I'm not sure if I went into detail in that first thread, but I am/was going through the divorce process and am/was looking for something to focus my attention on and hopefully find a new hobby.

Apparently I can't upload the .bmp because they're too large which is unfortunate because the colors look more true in those files.
I wish this one was a teenth bit more exposed, I really like the pic but when I printed it out (I own a printing shop) it's a bit darker than I would like.

So I did a shoot with a fashion designer last week, as a fun collaboration. It was meant to be a super informal shoot, and the most attention it would get would just be sharing it on our own websites.
I find out after the shoot, he has an entire brand and now wants to submit my work to magazines for his Fall/Winter campaign (which he did not mention before the shoot)
This is great and all , but this changes the situation as I did not agree for him to use my photos as a means of advertising on third party platforms, and would typically charge a client for this.
Have I fucked myself over too much up to this point to ask for money?
Because of how informal it was, I figured I didn't need for him to sign a contract.

I'm fairly good at Photoshop. If you tell me to change something, I can do it. You need to tell me what to do though. How can I get better at looking at a photo and realizing what I need to do to make it look better?

I suggest you delete this thread and use the gear thread.
You'll want something that's not a chore to carry around and also doesn't tie you down to one system/manufacturer so I don't recommend a system camera like a DSLR or M4/3. Your best bet is a decent compact like a Sony RX100 Mk1 or Canon S100/S95.
If you have no idea what kind of images you want to take than you cannot tailor your wants/needs to a specific camera/lens.
