Sensitivity is just another variable that should be manipulated to how you want your pictures to turn out.
If you're interested in using super high ISO's that gearfags dare not think about without stroking...

Grain is not the same as noise.
just ordered one of these bad boys
i've been using a promaster sm180 on location for a ton of shoots and figured I'd upgrade to a better strobe,.
this mofo seems like the best for the buck, I already have the vagabond mini power supply so it's on now.
i bought the silver beauty dish (comes with a sock so i guess its white too) planning on taking the shield out and using it as a softbox some as well.
can anyone suggest a good large octobox for the pcb lights?
I think i'll use my other strobes as slaves to fire with it....

how did you drop this much coin and not know how flash sync speed works?
>>2724654
well; in hs I can get much higher than 1/200s with a speed light. Wasn't sure if there was any sorcerers here that could shed some light on my inquiry

PCB sells them.

If you still have too much light with 1/200, ISO 100, then yes, you need to get an ND. Not sure why you're mentioning the duration of the flash here though.
What should I do while the shooting season is over and I prepare to spend the next 3/12 months in doors?

Is the mood and the colours bro.
I took a photo on my iPhone 5S that I want to make into a 36x24' poster. The nice man at the store said it would look bad with the file size it is now. While I agree it won't be amazing... how bad is bad? Is there anyway to make this photo into a large picture? I had him make me a 8x10' just to see what I'm looking at, but it won't be ready until next week. Pic related.

8x10 is probably going to be as good as it gets.
It's already quite bad digitally. Are you using one of those zoom accessories? I didn't know they were *that* horrendous.
>>2724623
Thanks for the advice. This photo was taken no zoom with my phone held into a pair of binoculars. I just cropped the photo on the phone. I might have even used to photo enhancer option. Really crappy circumstances for a photo but I love the shot. Maybe I just need to buy a real camera.
>>2724613
bad enough that you'll try and try to get this poster made despite anyone and everyone saying that it'll look bad, and then when you actually get it you'll be disappointed and try to get your money back
i assume you mean inches instead of feet
a 36x24 will be over ten times the size of an 8x10
think about that for a bit
Is the Canon Powershot G11 any better than an iPhone 5 camera?
I just bought the Canon Powershot, and have been editing photos with GIMP. It doesn't really seem like it's that much higher quality than my iPhone. Am I just not utilizing this thing the right way?

thats an oldass camera. get a newer one.
>>2724394
Okay, so the pictures are just going to be lame and that's the end of it?
>>2724656
Nah, it looks like you're doing something wrong.
Keep in mind that in broad daylight with a bright blue sky, most cameras are going to take photos that are indistinguishable from one another, from a sony a7mk2 all the way down to an iphone.
Shoot in more diverse, challenging conditions and you'll see an improvement.
You did buy an old-ass camera, though. I hope you didn't spend more than 50 bucks.
Sisters having a baby so i want to give her a decent camera so all her baby photos aren't taken on an iphone 4s...
Was going to give her my old DSLR but then i realised she's incompetent with technology and it will get no use. Any advice for a good point & shoot below £220?
nobody here can make use of any number paired together with "£"
but i'd say for technology idiots canon s110/120 or something like that

Hello /p/. I'm going to New York soon, I really want to take nice and creative pictures using my Canon Rebel T5i/1200D but I don't know what i'm going to be taking pictures of. I have been there a few times before. Also the picture is not mine.
>>2723690
And your question is?
>>2723730
Meant to say "what is your question?"
Just realized how stupid that typing was lol
Alright /p/ I haven't been here in a while.
I use a shitty Rebel T4i, I don't get out to shoot much maybe 10 days out of the year, but when I do I try to take it seriously. This year I started using Luminosity masks in photoshop instead of using Camera Raw and LR.
All My Photos this year were taken at Acadia National Park, Tear Me Apart
1/8
2/8
I was shocked by how much more detail I could pull out out of a single image using Lum masks considering the shitty T4i
3/8
This is the only HDR (4 pics) out of these
