Okay, so I recently bought a black and white cartridge from The Impossible Project for my dad's polaroid 1000. I really want to use this gold plated cartridge for some portraits of a friend of mine, but im scared of fucking up my exposure and getting a bunch of shitty overexposed photographs.
Does anyone have any info or tips on lighting and how best to shoot with it?

Always try to go on the brighter end, it's way easier to under expose than it is to overexpose

in flashless units shoot outside in daylight. the camera deals well with those conditions, but fails in low light. remember you have a fixed focus hyperfocal lens - the background of your subject will always be in focus, so choose ones that dont compete for the viewer's attention with your subject. foilage is a staple, ditto skyline (possibility of underexposing subject then, though). google a pdf version of the instruction manual and read it - among other things it lists the minimal focusing distance, important...

Is it worth it? Well, it depends.
It depends on how much it is.

It depends on what your other alternatives are.
/p/ can never make that decision for you.
Is this your first DSLR? Its a solid choice, but you might be better off getting a 600d, or an original 7d, and spending the difference on better lenses. Also gear thread.
Have you started/do you run a successful aerial footage capturing service?
I've been mulling this around now as I want to branch out of my corporate job shooting and filming events and commercials, and focus more on high end photography and video.
I have a plan for marketing myself, I'd have a dedicated website for aerial photography separate from my other work, networking for new clients and prospects, etc. But what I don't know is how much of a demand it is in my area. I know many people want it, but these are the same people who have asked me...

So nobody has any advice on the matter?
I moved files from my D70 by it to my computer through a micro USB and copying the files over. This resulted in the memory card getting unformatted somehow and these files that I can't open. The only idea I can think of is formatting the card and using recovery software to try to get the pictures back from the card. How good/bad is this idea?
Writing on corrupted media with data you'd like to recover is generally a bad idea.

Jesus Christ I just called a data recovery service and they quoted me at least $120-$150.

Had a good play with the whole QS1 line in while in Yodobashi Shinjuku, it's preddy kwel. Kawaii as heck, but more a niche item considering how small and good APS-C MILCS are now.

Please help compare the two from every possible aspect. I'm also thinking about to sell the D3200 in the future, but I don't know what to choose instead (ASP-C, full frame). Thanks.

I don't see why you couldn't just post your special snowflake poorly researched simple question which has already been answered a million times in the containment thread, but to answer your question the AF-D version is not even fully compatible with your camera and a 50mm lens in general is probably just not the most suitable option for a crop sensor camera anyway.

use your kit lens like a fixed lens for awhile in both focal lengths. personally I feel like 50mm on a crop sensor is too long much of the time and the 35mm would get more use.
the optics of the 35mm are still a little worse than those of the 50mm afaik but that's not really what you should be worried about if you're looking at these lenses

those are the only two tools that give you correct color calibration for raw to jpeg, everything else you will have to fiddle with endlessly

I've actually wanted to do this exact thing for years, but I'm always at Anime Expo on the 4th and skipping out on con parties and socializing to go take some photos isn't worth it. The con ended today this year, so for once I'm free.
